This review goes to the pharmacy in the store. This is the worst pharmacy I have every been to. Staff are nice and friendly, but very unorganized. I dropped my prescription off at 5pm. They told me they are backed up and busy and told me to come back in 2 hours. I get there 3 hours later and it is still not ready. They then tell me to come back the next day. Idk about you guys but if you're sick and need your meds, I wouldn't want to wait til the next day to get my meds. On a side note I saw the same customer that came in with me still at the store 3 hours later with no progress on their meds. Called in for the pharmacy dept and was on hold for a good 10 minutes and the phone just disconnected. Called in again and a girl picked and quickly stated to pls hold and left me on hold for17 minutes and call disconnected. Ughhhh! I just want to know if my prescription was ready. This pharmacy has the most rude and terrible customer service I have ever experienced. Every time I expect a call back in regards to a medical concern of mine and the employee never calls back. Whenever I follow up and call the pharmacy to obtain more information, the employee will speak rudely with attitude. I have been going to this CVS since it was built and it has gone down hill the last 10 years with poor customer service, unstocked shelf ,long lines. The pharmacy in the last 5 years has given me the wrong medication,forgot my syringe injections, not fully check all my insurance companys to cover my medication ,auto call saying my meds are ready then I get there and they tell me it's put back!( this has been on going) and untrained unqualified Tech's who act clueless. My biggest complaint is they don't answer the phone, this has happened to me 5x I've complaint to the manager in store and pharmacy. I called on day on a Wednesday around 3:30 pm and it just rang and rang so I tried again around 5:00 and this continues, I let it ring about 15 min,no answer! I try one more time around 8:00 pm and just let it ring now mind you this has happened other times too well anyway I let it ring for 40mins and I called the store, long story short the girl who answered said she had too many customers to answer. Of course more poor excuses. I do not recommend this pharmacy or store there is nice 24 hour store pharmacy in Monterey Park on Atlantic Blvd. read more

This review is for pharmacy. I used to like this pharmacy but services are getting crappy and SUPER slow. I waited at least 5 min for someone to come to drop off counter to take my prescription. I was nice enough and told them I'll come back later in the evening (I dropped off in the morning) but they didn't even give me text message to go pick it up! When I went to picked up next day, I had to wait 5+min at drive thru for some one to come. They need to staff more people there! read more

Some freak, on July 29th at approximately 2 PM took 40 minutes with the cashier, and kept haggling her. He kept asking for the price of something and then inserted his card as payment which was declined then repeated the process more than twenty times while talking to the cashier. Chinese Male, 40 - 50, skinny, possibly wearing black-rimmed glasses, and a blue checkered shirt. He kept turning around and staring at me even though I did not interact with this freak. I am surprised the cashier put up with this individual and it took from 2:20 to 3:00 for this customer to be finished. All he was buying was toilet paper and one or two other items but he held the first checkstand for 40 minutes at a CVS asking about the total. the cashier was very patient. read more

i can't believe how unorganized these people are. Everytime I go and pick up the prescriptions they make mistakes on my humalog. I get 4 viles per 3 months. This time they gave me one and was charging me $80...ha ha ha. This Chinese young man told me that they have an old IBM computer and they don't seem to update correctly. Come on!CVS! I've gone to some CVS and this place has the worst customer service. I saw they have printing service so I went there to print out my documents. The staffs were so busy to help me out. They pointed me to kiosk and told me to try it out. I was trying for like 15 mins but screen showed up nothing. Turned out it was off. One lady came and turn it on but did nothing for me. I was there almost 30mins but no one came to help me or explain me how it works. Worst customer service ever. read more

I'm always a sucker for their $2-4 coupons that they print out on your receipt after a purchase. Smart marketing! Makes you want to spend more and not miss the 'opportunity to save!' Takes only 5 minutes of your time to fill out the application to become a CVS member. It's worth it. You don't even have to carry the card around - I always just give my cell number to the clerk. Sometimes I walk in with just the coupons and no money and walk out with a bunch of useful toiletries! I got almost every flavored mouth wash, toothpaste, and deodorant possible in my bath cabinet. =) read more

They never answer the phone. They always have excuses why this or that was done. When I walked in they said the phones were broken while I have it ringing on my cell phone. I can hear it ringing while she was telling me they weren't working. They gave me child proof lids when it's stated on the computer we don't want them. Gave me the wrong mg. My Rx is for 5mg, they gave me 10mg. They shrugged it off as nothing and asked me to drive back and they would be happy to change it. I asked to be removed each time I get a call for an auto-fill for my Rx's, and it's been two years and they still call and auto-fill. Solution... had to delete my number they had on file. read more

Let's face it, CVS is overpriced compared to stores like Walmart. However, CVS has a pretty great customer rewards thing! So if you shop here often, why not sign up for a rewards card? Sometimes you get extra bucks and you always get coupons from them! They also remind people about Sunday coupons in their newspapers and they have sales on items every week! So if you're smart with your money, you could save a lot. But all that is just a general plus for CVS, now on to the real note of this CVS... They need more workers! They always have one long line for the cashier line. And the photo center there is horrible! When picking up photos(like say you already order photos online), you always literally wait 10-45 minutes. Most of it is just waiting for a worker to come help you. And maybe you'll wait over an hour if they forget to print the photos and you know what? Maybe you even came three hours after the designated pickup time and they forgot to print the damn photos... So you wait... CVS you're dang lucky that I like your customer rewards... And that you're probably the closest drug store to me.. Otherwise, I'd be going to Walgreens or the CVS in Rosemead(and hey my mom picks up her medicine there anyways). read more

It's super convenient to come here because it's so close to my home, but the service and the long lines are almost unbearable. Selection: Pretty good. I nearly find everything I need here - special shampoo, bath and beauty supplies. Service: The lines are incredibly long at every department except for the pharmacy. If you think you're going to be in and out in 5 minutes and you're not picking up a prescription, think again. I don't know why they are always low on shift-workers. I mean, the economy is bad and all, but when there's a line of 10 people and you only have one cashier, it's time to put that "help wanted" sign in the window. Photos: I like the do-it-yourself kiosk. It's pretty quick and you get to do everything yourself. However, if you need to do 1-hour service, this department isn't always staffed so you could potentially wait for a very long time. Pharmacy: They are very efficient. This is probably the saving grace of this CVS. When they tell you that your prescription will be ready at 2:00, it'll be ready at 2:00. Best part is that there's even a drive-thru for drop-off and pick-up, so if it's hot outside and you don't want to go inside, this is a pretty quick alternative too. read more

I don't know why I don't learn my lesson. The staff here are unhelpful and not knowledgeable about their policy. 70% of the time the staff give me attitude when I ask a question. I am constantly courteous therefore I do not understand why they are so rude to me. Today when I was at CVS I asked about buying several products with a CVS coupon, the staff, who I believed to the manager due to his appearance, told me that my purchases do not quality. However, I told him that today I used a similar coupon with the same fine print on the same items at a nearby CVS. He got the nerves to tell me to go to that CVS to make my purchase. He said to me that he rather not waste his time doing a transaction that he "knows" will not work. I already told him the fine prints ARE THE SAME. I asked him to just scan them and if they didn't work, I will put everything back. He again said that he knows it will not work and he will not waste his time. Believing that he is stubborn and unhelpful, I decided to leave and use more gas to drive to another, more courteous CVS. It gets really busy at times and you're stuck waiting in this ridiculously long line because there's only 3 guys on shift. I never find any good deals here compared to, say, Rite-Aid. This is my local pharmacy. I won't be going there anymore. They are racist as hell. Every time I go inside the store, particularly at night, a message is blasted on the loud speaker, "Customer Service, scan all aisles." I mean, it goes on multiple times and then I see workers follow me around. It is so annoying. Finally today I asked the young women at the front about those messages. She told me nothing but lies. First she said that they come on automatically, about every 5 to 10 minutes. Then she said that no one has any control over the messages. I have no clue why people shop at CVS. It's so expensive! I'll be honest. I came here just to check out post-Easter candy sales. They had all Easter stuff at 50% off, but I could get that stuff way cheaper at Target at a mere 30% off. I decided to come back 2 weeks later to see if they had a bigger discount going, but unfortunately, everything was still just 50% off - I can't imagine why they still had a bunch of Easter stuff while other stores were out... What can you say about a CVS? This one in Monterey Park is new, around six years old or so. I love that CVS has drive-thru pharmacies. The pharmacy staff here is always pleasant, always. The store is clean, but not as large as some of the other CVS branches I've been to. The one gripe I have about this CVS is that the lines are constantly horrendously long. They'll have two registers but most of the time the lines are that long because they only have one cashier. That drives me absolutely bonkers. Without fail, every other time you go, you'll have that one freakin' cheap Chinese lady arguing about $0.50 or something she thought was on sale or who knows what and that'll hold up the line another five minutes. Why, lady? Why?! Is it really worth your time (not to mention ours) to fight for that extra quarter dollar saving that you will not get, no matter how belligerent or loud you get? OMG. Oh, they also lock up things like the Crest Whitestrips at this store (as well as the other one in Monterey Park located near the 60 freeway on South Atlantic Blvd). That's how you know you're in a slightly more ghetto location, when you have to call an attendant to unlock a box of $40 teeth whitening strips or a packet of men's razors because of shoplifting. The CVS in Monrovia does not have anything locked up behind glass. Just saying. No matter what CVS you go to though, they're all overpriced. We go there because it's convenient and so close by, not because it's cheap. read more

This is the best place to come to when I need to have a prescription filled and I have sick or sleepy kids in the car. I don't need to get off the car to give them the prescription cuz of the drive thru. I can park right by the window to wait for the order and go back into the drive thru to pick it up. Several times I encounter the situation with not enough cashiers, and even if they are working, they look sullen and tired always. So the lines can be super long. Completely the most inept pharmacy I have ever come across. First, when you go to pick up your prescriptions everyone can read the prescription names and medications on the bags as they are less than 4 feet in front of you at the pick up window. Next, you have the RUDEST person in Shontae helping customers. Third, when you have a prescription sent the staff will inform you it will be ready and then hold it hostage while they "work out the kinks" with Corporate. Finally, when you've had enough and attempt to transfer the prescriptions out they take their good ole sweet time and then won't transfer them all! Ridiculous read more

I have had 4 prescriptions filled at this pharmacy, and it was a bad experience each and every time! This last experience was the last. We walked into the store at 1pm to have our prescription refilled. The person at the counter said she had to place a request with our doctor's office which she never did! We called the doctor's office the next morning to find out that not only did they not place any request, but they screwed up the original prescription which should have had refills!! In the meantime, I have to suffer through a viral infection because someone made a very serious mistake that could have compounded itself into something much worse! read more

The pharmacy tech Alexander is a total dick. He's been extremely rude to older Chinese customers, has an attitude overall and should not be working with the public. This CVS deserves 5 stars because they have great services from top down. Tommy, the manager is always polite and manages the store very clean and tidy. His staff would greet you once you walked inside. Recently I have a need to get a merchandise and was not sure when it would be available. Tommy and his assistant Annie took my phone number so they could let me know. This shows they really care for their customers and do not mind going extra miles to help.
