The CVS staff refuse to unlock items in the locked case when requested to purchase them, notably important medications necessary to purchase. The staff and manager claim they either do not have the key or are "waiting for the locksmith." However, this has been their practice for several years. This is likely leading to a decrease in their revenue, as customers are unable to purchase the inventory that is locked. I suspect the staff also do not want to restock items in the locked cases out of their own convenience and laziness - poor service overall. read more

The Maspeth, NY store keeps getting worse. Been filling an anxiety med there for over 10-years. The old pharmacy manager was wonderful (gone almost 2-yrs ago now). The new one Satia was decent at first, but progressively became nasty & lied very often. This month I called them three times (now they don't answer phones, you must leave a message and they MAY call back- THIS IS UNPROFESSIONAL & INSULTING) to make sure my brand was in stock. Three times I was told it was. Just like last month they said it was in stock, 2-days later had to accept the cheapest generic they make (Accord) that does not lower anxiety, but at least it doesn't cause withdrawal (so far). YOU CAN'T JUST STOP TAKING THIS MED BRAND THAT WORKS, IT CAUSES LIFE THREATENING SEIZURES! But obviously CVS doesn't care. I'm not one of those who thinks different generics will never work. I have altered DNA in my CAR gene (2nd Gen. Camp Lejeune victim) which is associated with overproduction of CAR T-cells in me that block wrong generic meds & all new meds since 2009. Plus have XL Thymus gland- not THYMOMA (Myasthenia Gravis issue) that docs agreed is blocking meds also. New pharmacy manager kept saying "it's backordered and they are phasing TEVA brand out". This made me call TEVA. They've been out of an important ingredient in my med for a couple of months, and it won't be back in stock until November; maybe. Plus they are NOT phasing this medication out (that was just a bold lie). WHY DIDN'T THE PHARMACY MANAGER CALL TEVA TO FIND THE TRUTH AS I DID? I COULD HAVE SWITCHED PHARMACIES THAT DID HAVE MY BRAND LAST MONTH IF I KNEW THIS. But now everyone is out of stock! So I had no choice but to accept the bad brand again which may eventually cause withdrawal which is an absolute nightmare!!! Stay away from CVS if possible. read more

I visit this CVS on a weekly basis as it has a parking lot and is very convenient for me to get to. I have yet to have experience razors and toothbrushes being locked up and it has been frustrating for me to have to ring a bell and wait each time I want to purchase toothbrushes or razors. An individual is required to go to the front to get a tool to unlock it each time someone wants toothbrushes and/or razors. Even so, its a very well organized and clean CVS. Harricharr, one of the managers, is amazing. He is very understanding, kind, and patient. He is also always smiling! He offers the best customer service compared to all CVS' I've visited. I stood on the line for so long to buy something because there was only one employee at the registers and she was busy entertainment another customer about his personal conversations. Common sense, keep the line moving. If you want to talk to a customer for 10 minutes, do not ignore the line and call for help so you can console every single customer in need of unnecessary attention. read more

Very long line in pharmacy dept, and only one cashier. Place is filthy, things are scattered all over the floor.. poorly manage ....

If you drive this CVS has a ginormous parking lot in the back, otherwise you will pay the meter in the front. If you see a lot of cats roaming the parking lot, those are a feral colony. You will notice that they have a clipped ear as they have been caught, spayed or neutered and placed back where they are use to being. These cats are fed by a rescue group and have a covered area for resting at the back of the parking lot. Please do not try and feed the cats or pet them. They are very skittish, but they are well cared for. Most of the cats are orange so they may all be related. They are cute and hang out by the cars. This location has a large photo area in the back of the store when you first come in from the parking lot. They also has a very large refrigerated section and a large frozen food section. This is one of the largest food sections I have seen in all my CVS visits. There is also a substantial pet food area. The front of the store has a self check out section and a regular register with a real CVS employee. Aisles in this store are clear and you have room to move without bumping into other customers. I have found that all of the employees and managers are very nice here, but please take into consideration that this is one hopping store. Its busy on over drive. I have never had any interaction with the pharmacy area, but they do have seating and they do seem to service a large senior population. From what I can tell, the pharmacy area is as busy as the rest of the store. Considering 95% of the income from CVS stores come from the pharmacy, you can see that the rest of the store is basically just convenience for CVS customers. CVS would not even need to offer razor blades, makeup etc and still make the bigs bucks. Not all CVS stores are created equal. This store is very busy, but seem to have stock well undercontrol. Bathroom facilities are available, but you will need an employee to take you to the bathroom and they will wait for your to finish your business. Don't take too long in the bathroom or they will figure out if your doing a #1 or #2. read more

I always shop here, but when it comes to filling prescriptions, go somewhere else. There has not been a time where I haven't heard someone have an issue with filling their prescription, as well as my own issues. Today, the pharmacist told me they did not have the medication I needed, which is an extremely common medication, and that there is a wait list and "many more clients ahead of you who take it regularly". What does that even mean? Since when does a huge pharmacy chain not have a common medication? The pharmacists are rude and seem annoyed that they have to put pills in a bottle and deal with people. The wait time is always two hours or more. I'd rather give my business to a local pharmacy, as I will do from now on. read more

If it were possible to give negative numbers I would. The worst, the slowest, never have prescriptions ready, always 15-20 minutes whether there are 0 people ahead of you or 100. 27 people bumping into each other behind the counter and lines 10 people deep. Then, there's the attitudes - have some humility when working with customers instead of acting like it's their fault you didn't do your job. Don't ask me if I want a prescription if it's not ready, don't tell me it wasn't sent in when it was and don't blame my doctor's office when it's your system. The line for the pharmacy is just as bad. Who manages this place? They should be fired on the spot. This is the most poorly run store I've ever been in. Unbelievable that they can function like this. I was in CVS to pickup photos I had developed. When I went to pay there was no cashier on duty. A lady told me I had to use the machine to pay. I'm 72 years old and have no idea how to use these machines. There was no one there to help me so the lady tried to help me. She was older then me and also was confused about how to work this machine. I got so aggravated because I felt like a fool standing there helpless. Finally a staff member came over and started showing me how to pay. I told her just use my money and pay for the photos. She told me her job was to teach me how to use the machine. I told her at 72 I don't need lessons. She insisted that I had to do it myself. I got so pissed off, I told her to stick the pictures up her ass and I walked out. And I'm never going back, That store sucks anyway. read more

CVS is a large chain drug store. If you didn't know that, now you do. This one's got huge lines in it, always.

Only a few kinds of people come to this CVS. Those who need something to pick up quick in a hurry for their home, those who are looking for cosmetics or those who are picking up their meds. Either way how you slice it, this CVS is important for the neighborhood as the parking lot in the back gets filled up quickly and justifiable reason how valuable it is. Customer service is lacking in the area. Majority of the employees do walk around as if they do not care. There are some who are friendly that I have interacted with that really took the time to find the items I need. I wish I knew their names so I can give them their proper recognition. I believe there 2 check out registers with the other 3 being self checkouts. There should be someone on standby there at all times to scan their CVS void card to keep the line moving. More than half the time, customers have to wait for an employee to come and scan their employee card to void transactions. The Pharmacy line is probably the busiest, longest and most important in there. One person or 2 max at the pharmacy check out register while maybe 2 Pharmacy techs in the back filling up medicines. Best bet is to call in adavnce to see when your medicine is ready instead of walking in. Overall, a few things can be fixed but definitely important to the neighborhood. Also, read expiration dates on items as they rarely rotate stock. read more

Went to pick up a prescription at around 7:30 PM, and it took the young male clerk 3 times to get the name right. First, he said the prescription is not in yet. Then, he went back and asked around the pharmacists, and then returned a little bit later and said it will be ready at 9:14 PM. I said, OK, 9:14. I went around the store to buy a couple of things, and then remembered that the pharmacy closes at 9 PM. When I went back, the pharmacist said the prescription is not in yet, and that the young clerk had just left. So, if I hadn't been paying attention, I could have waited until after 9 PM to return to find out that the pharmacy was closed. I don't know where he got the 9:14 number, or how intentional it was, but it really sounds crazy to do something like that. read more

Prepare to stand in a wicked long line no matter what time of the day you go, nor what day of the week it is. I just don't get it. I've spend up to half an hour shopping here only to leave all of the stuff I was about to buy in my basket by the line because I didn't want to wait on such an incredibly long line. I know this makes me sound spoiled, but seriosuly, I've never experinced that in any other CVS, let alone at any of its competitors. The managers just can't get it right. Cvs what can I say. First it was the photo department. Lost my prescription and said I never gave it to them. Gave them the doctors number they verified and apologized . OK no problem there was more slip ups but I will not get into that . Photo department has improved since then. Now went there used the automated machine. Put $51.00 In. Then the machine the cvs attended came over and said I apologize. There is no money in the machine. He is also very kind and helpful. Then they call another person and I guess he is the Manger. Doesn't say anything just goes into the machine and start trying to fix the issue. While he was doing this I said to my mother most be the new people. Lol. In a joking matter. I seen his face and he didn't like that to much mine you he didn't look at me. He said you need to go to the register in a wise tone. OK I was kind of angry and said to my mother he needs to get slapped with some manners. Lady at the register was courteous like you should be in a neighborhood drugstore. The lady tells me 50.78 my mother says we paid. She said you did. So why is he giving me this. The other attended comes over and says the other guy has to come i said call him he tells me he knows. This eurecked me . I said page him. What is this I am going to waste half and hour for 22 cents. I didn't want to leave because I wanted them to know I paided. He comes over he said pay her I said we paid. You did yes. He asked the nice attended the guy. He said yes they paid. He goes to the automated machine tells the last at the register put 51 dollars in in. Mine you customers are looking at me and are like unbelievable. Smiling at me. I was hot because of the lack of respect from him no I apology about it. Nothing just walked away. Nice customer service. Now the lady had the courtesy to say I am sorry about that . I was very ticked off at this point and said I spent almost $600 here from the year to date. Meaning how do you treat a loyal customer like that. Maybe if I was in my work clothing it would have been different either way it's a fail with me. I feel bad because the nice guy the attended said sorry about that and I said ya whatever. ticked. So sorry to nice attended. And keep up the good work. Other guy learn some manners and respect. Sorry for any typos on my phone had to air it out. The lines get crazy long. The store could use a little sprucing and updating. The workers are friendly but don't seem too excited to be there. I can't blame them though, its a CVS. They have everything that you could want from a CVS and a gigantic parking lot that is crucial for shopping on Grand Avenue. CVS overall gives tons of discounts and coupons so it pays to shop there. The pharmacy doesn't always have things in stock and can take time to fill your meds, but unless you are in an emergency situation you should be ok. I did notice them help out a pregnant woman who came in as they were closing. They did have some compassion. read more

Walked into CVS at 6:30 pm for what should have been a simple moneygram pick up...printer jammed while printing my money order and the shift supervisor had to call tech support to reprogram. He then had to speak to a supervisor to reverse the transaction so that the money order could be reissued. Sounds simple enough but moneygram gave him a hard time, transferred him around over 12 times and even hung up 3x after 30 mins on the line explaining to multiple technicians. Low and behold 2 hours later we were finally able to get the transaction voided and reissued the shift supervisor Dyllon was AWESOME, he stood patiently and went through each step over and over never losing his patience or professionalism. Any other employee would have gave me a simple "come back tomorrow " but he didn't give up and refused to let me leave without my money in hand! CVS could use more employees like him that are willing to go above and beyond their jobs to make sure a customer leaves happy even on a Friday night when we should all be out having a drink. Kudos to Dyllon and a million thanks for all your patience and help, I will definitely be going to this location loyally. read more

The only reason for the 3 stars is because i only dealt with the photo team and not the entire store as of yet. I went in yesterday and i worked with two women by the names of Kim and Ivette. Each were very courteous and understanding of my needs. Initially Ivette was helping me but explained she is still learning certain features and called Kim to come and show her how to solve my problem. Along with helping Ivette she also helped me by explaining what she was clicking on and why. I may actually be able to go in again and do this by myself. I had several orders and since the "seconds service" was out of order i had to do the "hour service". It was no where near an hour wait. They had my first three orders ready to go the minute i finished my last order. And the last order took about 10 mins, so I was able to still shop around. My Cards came out great and i am so excited to send them to my family and friends. I will definitely be coming back to this location for many of there other services! . read more
