This store sold me tampered with gift cards! When the recipient opened her card, she found part of the code scratched out. I went back to the 3-pack of Amazon gift cards I bought at this store, checked the other two, and found out they both had the same problem. My friend found out this is a new but common scam. I did not expect to get scammed at CVS!! I tried to return the cards, but the employee at the store refused. Are they in on the scam? Hours online show pharmacy is opened until 10pm. Medication showed my medication that my daughter needed urgently is ready for pickup at 7:40pm and by the time I got there it was just past 8pm, pharmacy closed. Also, the parking is terrible, dirty and there are clearly homeless living there. I use Capsule these days but only used them because I needed the medication asap. Never again. read more

I have been filling my prescriptions at this pharmacy for years. When there are no problems, this pharmacy is just fine. However, if there are problems with the prescription, they are rude and condescending. And they don't appear to have the patient's best interest in mind. They reached out to me to schedule my vaccines. I scheduled them and checked in 10 min early at the counter with the pharmacist. She told me to have a seat in the vaccination area and I did. 25 min later and no vaccines, I go up to her and tell her I'll reschedule since I've just been sitting there and no one came with the vaccination. She immediately says "I forgot you were there! Why didn't you remind me?" Really? I'm supposed to remind you to do your job? Needless to say, I won't be getting vaccinated at this location. Moved my rx here after Rite Aid closed in Larchmont and now dread picking up my rx every month. In addition to supply issues the pharmacy is staffed with very unhappy people. Today I wait in line to pick up, note an error, told to stand in a second line to resolve, ignored by person working there, finally pharmacist comes over clearly put out to have to assist. She is able to resolve the issue - great - then tells me I need to wait another 20 minutes and stand in line again while they reprocess everything. No response to my questions about why it happened or if it is fixed for next month. She just walks away. Every month it's another problem and sour staff. Add to that the store is so dirty and God forbid you have to park upstairs and get in that nasty elevator. I took the stairs one time and had to step over someone who was passed out. I had terrible luck with the CVS pharmacy on third Street at Fairfax so I transferred my prescriptions a few blocks east to the CVS pharmacy on La Brea at the corner of third Street. Worlds apart different and far superior! Whereas the CVS next to Whole Foods is super crowded, boisterous with cranky pharmacists, cranked up customers, unintelligible phone south, long phone tree menus, waiting lines, poor service of support, and difficulty getting prescriptions in, ... You get the idea the third Street at Fairfax one is bad. But this review is about the CVS pharmacy on South La Brea at third Street. The staff was friendly and efficient. The staff there was, and transferred my information over in the computer system with efficiency. They were friendly and got my prescription done from start to finish in 15 minutes. I plan to transfer all my prescriptions here as the store was much less crowded and had much happier sales staff. It even has shady parking! So thrilled to finally find a CVS we should also deliver to me, offers quick in and out pick up and a courteous professional staff. Thank you! read more

I just received the worst customer service at this location from a lady at the cash register and the manager before 6pm on May 11th. I wanted to exchange a defective item which CVS doesn't allow. This is not their fault but the way they both talked to me was so disrespectful and the manage even said "Don't come here if you don't like it", not in those exact words but that's what he meant. Most of the time, their empathy and respectful words can go a long way especially the customers can't get exactly why they want because of the company policies. Unfortunately CVS lost my business after this pharmacy unexpectedly stopped carrying my prescription. Instead of letting me know, they filled it with a generic version. When I saw the change on my app, I called them to ask if they could please special order the prescription (they had done so in the past). I was on it for years and was uncomfortable switching brands. After being placed on hold twice for more than 30 minutes, they told me it couldn't be done. When I asked if another CVS could fill the prescription, the woman on the phone said, "ummm no probably not" (very unhelpful). I then asked if they could go over the differences between my current prescription and the generic. After being placed on the second hold, the pharmacist finally answered and rudely snapped, "it's the same ingredients. That's what makes it a generic." Well sure, it's the same active ingredients, but the inactive ingredients are completely different and I was concerned about any side effects from the change. Their lack of explaining and rushed behavior really turned me off. They didn't make me feel comfortable switching brands and so I called around to different pharmacies and found another store to fill my original prescription. Aside from the pharmacy, the store itself is usually in pretty could condition and well stocked. For these reasons, I bump my rating up a little. However, major negative points for the parking lot. The spots on the ground level are TINY. Compact cars hardly squeeze into the spots and are so tight that it's nearly impossible to open your door. The number of spots on the ground level are also very limited. They do have a top deck with an elevator down to the store, but it was broken for my last two trips. And the stairs from the deck to the ground floor are quite plentiful. I don't think an elderly person could manage them easily and they need to get their elevator fixed ASAP. read more

I joke that this CVS never has the exact thing I went there for ... but it's not a joke. Literally (and I mean that, literally as in - this is the truth) every time I go there for something specific ... they do not have it. Friends, it could be garbage bags, or command strips, or a broom, or my prescriptions. Or it could be ice cream on the same day the store decided not to have freezers anymore. Ever. Again. Or the blood pressure thingie the day they removed it. For. Good. Or photos ordered on the app. Here's the thing: The cashiers are cool as hell. The pharmacy assistants are nice and seem way overworked but they try hard. The security is super nice. Actually the worst CVS as a store but the best I've been to in terms of employees. But look - the store is junky and not stocked. So clearly CVS or the owner or whatever doesn't care about this store. You can't buy anything you need here. There's no reason to go. (And... at least one pharmacist is a total nightmare so I switched pharmacies.) I don't know why employees are so nice there but thank you all for that. I'm sorry your merch sucks. read more

This is THE WORST CVS in this area. I live less than a block from this location but avoid it because they are always sold out of items, the ones they have are often mis-marked ( always double check the sales prices because they don't keep up with them.) I usually end up having to go to the one on third after any attempt to shop at this one. Most of the cashiers are okay- there are a couple that are even good- but don't try to find help on the floor. We had just figured out his mailing address and I needed to get it in the mail. It all worked perfectly and I mailed it Sunday afternoon. "COLLAGE" photos are cool (see photo), and CVS prints them in an hour for just under $5 for an 8" x 10"'. You do it from home on the website under "photo" and then locate the "collage" option. This is a smaller CVS than other drugstores nearby but the employees here are so nice and helpful. However, I came to purchase macadamia nuts and I found that there were 2 bottles on the shelf. So I purchased one and on my way out, I opened it and ate it... and... it tasted weird. I looked at the bottle and saw that the expiration date was 11/2014!!!! And I purchased this 5/2015. So, I was relieved that I at least found this out in the parking lot so I turned around, went back into the store and told the employee and she told me to grab another one. So I went and grabbed the other bottle of macadamia nuts on the shelf and as I'm walking out of the store, I opened it, and the seal was broken. Argh... I was frustrated. These are not nice people. I called for 4 days straight to get hand sanitizer. They said try back Friday am because their Shipment is thursday, so I did and they told me they didn't get any. Saturday am I called to see if they had rubbing alcohol and they said they had two hand sanitizers left but when I got their 5minutes later they said they all sold Friday afternoon when they got their shipment. I said you didn't get a shipment because I was here yesterday and you told me you didn't get any in the Thursday shipment and they said the shipments come Friday afternoon. This week, I received a text from CVS telling me that my prescription refill was ready for pick up, but when I arrived the next day to pick it up, it wasn't ready.
