Sloans in Manheim is about using a local, home town store who is always looking out for your welfare. Use to get my scripts from a large drug store in town. Remember feeling so sick and stopping to get a called in script only to have to sit and wait anyway. Also the time my son was having trouble breathing and barely being able to breathe. When I called for his inhaler was told it would take 4 hrs to fill. Said it was an emergency... too bad. Changed to Sloans at least 10 years ago. Have never heard a single problem with them.

Within an hour, they not only had all the scripts transferred, but also had them filled. Plus they received 2 more in from the doctor and they also prepared them. The bill, even with insurance copays, was somehow much much cheaper than CVS (apparently even though it's the same insurance, CVS charges more towards copays than sloans does). Everyone was helpful and friendly and fast! I love they have the hometown feel, know your face and name (they're saying hi to me by name before I even hit the counter), and genuinely care about you. Love the staff, love Tim, love their customer service, and am beyond thrilled at their med availability and ability to order in quickly what they don't stock! Many kudos!

And they never give you the information sheets that all the other pharmacies give you without having to ask for it. I find it quite unprofessional that they eat their lunches on a table right behind the pharmacy counter. I really would prefer not to see someone's bologna sandwich and soda laying out being eaten while I'm getting my prescription filled. It's just nasty and unhygienic. And please, when you're waiting on me, swallow your chips first. I also found it annoying that I waited and waited in line and some woman came in after me and the girl behind the counter saw her and called her up in front of me. Now I can understand that perhaps she had been there previously and had waited and was just coming right back in to pick up something (however, I had been standing there for quite some time, so she didn't just run out to her car to get her check book). But if you are going to take someone on line ahead of someone else who had been waiting and waiting, you don't just look past the next person on line, totally ignore them like they didn't even exist and give a big smile to the person who just came in and call them up in line. At least acknowledge the next person in line, give a little smile and ask, "Do you mind if I take her first? She was"......(fill in the blank with your valid reason). So, what typically costs $24 at Giant cost $88 at CVS - which is wild because it's the same prescription. He gets to the register and says, "Hey, I got a call that my 'script was ready for pick-up and it says it costs $88. Is that the right price because its $24 at Giant?" and the cashier says, "Well if you want it for $24 you can go to Giant." what?! He kept his cool and asked if there were any Good RX codes that could be applied or anything to lower the cost and she said she could look, but that would take 20-25 minutes. Why it'd take that long to check something like that is beyond me but it was not a pleasant experience. She belittled a customer who had every right to ask about a $64 price difference.

I was told I couldn't be there because the employee was helping another customer. I understand privacy, but there was no one else visibly waiting. I was directed to a sign, but I had approached from a different direction and didn't see it. The interaction felt abrupt and unfriendly, and I chose to leave my items and go elsewhere. I've noticed similar behavior toward other customers before. I hope customer service improves.
