Wow, I should have come here first. This is the worst pharmacy ever. I don't blame the employees. I blame the management. I need my antibiotic. It is on back order? You can't call around if you are out and see if another CVS has it? You can't call my doctor for an alternative? No, you did not. So I am just to sit here with a staff infection in both of my legs and do nothing? My doc ordered this on Monday. It is now Wednesday 10 p.m. and they are 'still out'. You should know that if I have to go to ER with sepsis I am going to consult with a lawyer. I am trying to call you but you are so overwhelmed you are not answering. I have tried more than once and over 1 hour on hold and nothing. This is proof that the management has not hired enough staff. You are open 24 hours. You are one of the most used pharmacies in this area, but you are the worst managed. I will never understand how your most profitable pharmacies are being forced to fail. I can't help but guess that management and ownership literally hate each other. Please sell yourselves to something better so the community can be better serviced. read more

March 12, 2018 At 11:30 am DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION IF YOU ARE DISABLED AND IF YOU DO, DO NOT LET LORENIA WAIT ON YOU! Today was a great day so far until I came in this store. I came in with my Nina to buy stuff and found Easter gifts for the nurses who took care if me. I waited in line 10 mins. for the cashier to stop talking to the customer she had rang up about her vag. I was fine with that as I like the connection employees make with their customers. I get up to buy my items go to pay and the cashier named Lorenia was a total "B!TCH" to me! I do not know what was wrong with her but bad attitude bad customer service when I got to her. So she says fo I have a CVS card? I said I have a phone number I can put in. Since I am sight impaired I memorized my cell number, I put my number in the pad. Lorenia, says you have to press enter, I said I can't see so I do not know what to press. Then Lorenia in the nastiest most sarcastic tone says...YOU WERE ABLE TO PUT YOUR PHONE NUMBER IN! I said the keys are the same on every pad and I memorized it, I did not owe her an explanation. Then Lorenia says press the green key....once again I said I am blind I can't see! Then Lorenia says it is at the bottom but she never attempted to assist me. Then Lorenia said push at the bottom of the screen, since I told her 3 times or more I can't see.....I started pressing all over the screen to find the GREEN button. I gave her a $20.00 then in her b!thcy nasty voice she says you gave me a 20! I knew what I gave her since that was what I had. I can't see numbers or letters due my eyes bleeding it damaged that part of my eyes, I had over 100 eye surgeries. I would suggest this person be sent to a class on how to deal with people who have disabilities and not treat such people with such a nastiness, we did ask to be disabled. The Supervisor not sure I think her name was Maria Elena she was wonderful, I went to speak to her about Lorenia and her unprofessional behavior. I've come to this CVS numerous times, I only come here if I'm passing by because typically the staff is so disorganized. The store is really clean both inside & outside. The merchandise on the shelves is very neat, plus always fully stocked with Items. I went to purchase some nasal decongestant and sweet oil. The best part about purchasing items at the pharmacy is that you can pay for other Items, makes for a shorter wait in the lines. Another plus is the drive through for the pharmacy. read more

I visited this store on Saturday eveniing after 9pm to purchase some things for myself n son. My cvs extra care bucks didn't print after I spent a total of $24 on aquaphor products per their ad. I asked the manager on duty that evening and she explained that I had not spent $20 and if I did the extra bucks would automatically load to my cvs app immediately. I explained to her sense shE was not understanding my question and didn't care to listen nor calculate that I made the proper purchase, I would go home and return later during the week with everything I bought from cvs thaT week and return all items. I arrived after work today (jan 14th 2020)around 5:37 pm as promised with my receipts and products in hand then explained to her see here is everything that I purchased well over the $20 promo get $10 extra bucks so please return all of my items so I can take my money and business where the store does not falsely advertise in their papers. My return of merchandise totaled $95 bucks. So this manager loss $95 over $10 extra bucks that would've had me coming back to spend again because she is not customer centric and doesn't understand the weekly ad promos. CVS needs to either make better management hiring deciSions or take more time me for training and development oof their managerial staff. She's been training for months but still does not understand the weekly ad or and she cannot read to comprehend the weekly ad correctly. I asked her if I spend $20 the $10 extra bucks would print she says no it would loAd automatically to your card and you can use it. I went to get my prescription done at 3am, it was just one supervisor dude who shared with me that he was working an 11hr shift. Crazy right? He tells me it'll be 10 minutes for my prescriptions to be ready. That was even crazier! The craziest thing was it was done sooner than 10 minutes. He was friendly, fast, and informative; he wasn't a pharmacist, but he helped me use my inhaler for the first time (I've never used one before). 10/10 wish it was closer to my house so I can get all my prescriptions here. read more

Convenient that the pharmacy is open 24/7 and my pharmacy sent over the prescription from that location to this one because they were closing. I headed over to this location around 9:30PM and the lady in the pick up line couldn't find my prescriptions, and made me stand in the drop off line. She (pictured) was able to find it, but she told everyone a 30 minute wait. I knew it wasn't going to be 30 so I left and came back in about a hour and they didn't even fill it... this lady was so slow, didn't have great customer service, and I felt that she was pretty rude. Nicole needs to be promoted to a trainer to teach other employees how to administer professional, excellent customer service. Training all new hires for CVS should be her specialty. I'm an HR professional and I appreciated her professionalism. Nicole is one of the most informed, helpful customer service providers I've come in contact with in a long time. Not only does she know her cosmetic products but she knows her store and where things are located. My elderly mother was unfamiliar with this CVS and hesitant to go in but from the moment we walked in Nicole assisted my mother with kindness and patience. Nicole assisted Mom with the non cosmetic items she wanted. Nicole even volunteered to print off some coupons that my mom was able to use. Other customers also ask Nicole questions and she promptly answered them in a courteous and professional manner. Please promote Nicole. This is a very valuable employee who represents this company and herself well with exemplary customer service. read more

Switched over to this specific CVS pharmacy on the corner of Western and Redondo Beach because my last pharmacy had the rudest and most inconsiderate staff. Choosing this one was worth it! They are fully staffed and well-organized. The staff are super helpful and friendly. The notifications for refills are on point. This pharmacy looks to be very busy with a lot of customers, but they manage quite well. I hope my experiences continue to be positive here! read more

My prescription was called in at 11.30 am today., at 5.30 was still not ready. I called in and it took them forever to answer the phone. When finally answering ,they told me to give them another hour. I said no expiate the prescription. When I went in they had only 1 cashier and two primacy filling the prescriptions. The line was down and almost out the door. I told them, they need to hire more help. They told me, they wont hire more help or call more help in. CVS Pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - Gardena, California

This is an average to large size CVS with two people working in it. One manager one at the register. I needed something out of a lock cabinet so I hit the button to call for help. I ended up pushing the button 3x before I went to the front to ask for help. The cashier was great and called for help on more than one occasion about five minutes later a manager came out of the back who was very rude and open the cabinet for me. If I could I would not leave 1 star. This place needs to retrain there graveyard pharmacy staff. I called the pharmacy before going at 12am to make sure they had the medication I need, the staff member that answer didn't want to hear it. She told me bring the prescription. Like, why would I drive across town and wait if they might not have the medication. Then she proceeded to hang up. After I got there they didn't have any customer service etiquette. Open 24 hours with convenient parking and access, what more could you ask for?? Suddenly I have forgotten what was here on this property prior to some short stints as car dealerships! =( I think it was a Safeway grocery store?? In any case, this is a fairly new building, so the layout is good and it works well. There is a drive-thru pharmacy window, not that I have ever used one or even know anyone who has...but it's there in any case. Again, the big convenience is that they are open 24 hours. I often come here after work, so it's super late like 2-3am. Very nice since it's pretty much empty and you have the store to yourself. It can get a bit crowded during regular peak hours, and if so, try to use the self-checkout registers. If not, you will be in line for a LONG TIME! The staff is marginal at best and are usually as slow as molasses in wintertime. And not a SoCal wintertime, but a Chicago wintertime!!! Not that I've ever really been in snow, but that's another story for another day! =\ The store is pretty clean and inventory is usually good. The company-wide email-list extracare discounts are amazing, usually up to 30% off every weekend. These are great to take advantage of if you can buy what you need all at once. Of course sometimes you just need a thing or two, but even then the prices are never outrageous. I do have a bad habit of sneaking over to the candy aisle and buying a candy bar or some other similar violating treat. I eat it quickly though, so that it gets processed quickly and causes less damage. I think that is better than consuming it slowly (yeah right lol) read more

Didn't get the staff member's name, Asian sounding man. Absolutely horrendous attitude, treated me like a nuisance even though I was very polite, when I asked him questions he spat out things like "Do that if you like, doesn't matter to me. Call your doctor" even though my dr had already authorized the pharmacy to dispense my medication. The best pharmacists take initiative and call the doctors themselves to verify any issues, which another pharmacist there did so. This man hates his life and should find another job washing dishes if he doesn't feel like working and hates people. I'm sure that competent, compassionate people would line up to take his job in a snap. Quit your job if you hate it so much. I hate this cvs so much but it's the only 24 hr location in my area. If I could rate them with a "0" star, that is exactly what I would do. Sat in drive thru for 30 minutes and when I got to the window, they told me that I had no prescription there. I mentioned that I was notified at 11:43a that morning by their system that my prescription was ready - 2nd window attendant (Eduardo) came to the window and tells me that my prescription is at another location. I show him the text and call that I received telling me to pick it up at 15700 Western and he tells me, well sorry it's not ready and we can have it for you in 2 hours!!! WTF, is it ready or is it at another CVS location??? Get your BS together. This used to be my favorite CVS and I've stood in the inside line and heard complaints from other customers about this CVS...I have always defended this CVS. Well, you know what? Not any more....now I see what other customers are experiencing. Damn, if you're tired, don't confront the customers with an attitude! You know what kind of people go to the pharmacy??? This happens to be my go to CVS and always stop in for different items. This Friday I experienced something totally weird and off the wall. Only two cashiers were taking customers and the self check out open so I started scanning my items only to have the "manager an older man tell me that I was not scanning my items correctly actually he was hovering over me as I was scanning my items...lets just say we ended up going to another self check to ring up my items. I was really put off in this day in age....Wal-Mart, Ralph's and other stores scanning items are not that difficult. I was pissed and started to put back the $50 crap I really did not need . I got the feeling that he was assisting me for other reasons...reasons I hope are not true. Then he made my bags so heavy I had to get another bag. Wanted to give 5 stars for the Photo dept employee (should've gotten her name) was so helpful and had such a positive attitude. She was so swamped with people pulling her left & right, plus she was answering all the phone calls that came in, too. She didn't even bat an eyelash when I said i needed a passport photo. She took care of my needs, as well as those of 6-7 other patrons needing help in her dept. simultaneously. =D So, 5 stars to the Latina lady in the photo dept on 1/29 @ around 1pm. I took 2 stars back because -1 star for the dread-headed employee working the self-check aisle. First of all...let me just say...I HATE SELF-CHECK OUT @ CVS!! There - said it! So the other star taken for the Self Check out!!! I've used self check outs at countless other stores and nowhere else has the craziness that CVS does. It is just so fricken sensitive - it literally yells at you if you don't put your stuff in the bag when it tells you to. Ok - maybe not yell, but irritatingly repeats itself until you do what it tells you to do. If you don't scan quick enough it already wants to check you out. There wasn't an actual human working a register (except for in photo-but she just left for her break), there was only self-checks available and a dread-locked dude standing there to "help". I don't know why dread-head didn't get behind a register and check us out himself. Things would've went a helluva lot quicker and smoother. Because Im a responsible shopper I bring my own bag. Scanned then put my items back into my bag that Im holding on my arm..the system kept doing the repeat thing, proceeded to scan my next item -took a few tries before it took, then it did the "put items in bag" thing over and over. I put my shopping bag on the table where the plastic bags hang, the place where it tells you to put your items after scanning - at that time the system says "remove the items located on the counter". At this time the dread-head comes over and does the following... 1 - dumped, yes dumped (turn the bag over and dumped) my shit on the EXACT spot the system wanted scanned items to be, and where i placed my bag after the system would not Shut The F&$K UP 2 - told me not to put my bag there - but its where the CVS bags are hanging and the sensor can tell when you put things in the bag 3 - kept asking me the same question about my items (2 lip balms same brand different flavors & 4 exact same chocolate candy) says what is that item, what is that item -maybe he couldn't read 4 - when finally time to check out, he literally flung my last couple items into the bag, not place them in the bag, but threw them in there. A$$Hole!! You know what...Im taking another star, just cuz now I worked myself up just remembering it. ***Just wanted to add, that I have absolutely nothing against dread locks or people who wear dread locks. This is definitely THE WORST CVS PHARMACY EVER. THURSDAY 4:30PM: Dropped off two prescriptions. "Our system is down, call us in 4 hours." FOUR HOURS LATER: "System just came up, don't have your prescription ready..." A FEW MINUTES LATER: "We don't have these in stock. You can call another CVS if you want, or I can give you 5 pills now and give you the rest on Monday." WHAT? I go home and call 3 other CVS pharmacies. The one in Torrance on 190th near Anza has one of the medicines, but no one has the other. I call back the Gardena pharmacy and ask for the 5 pills. They tell me it will take 2 hours. (!!!!) Since it's already late, I tell them that I will be there first thing in the morning before going to the office, and the woman on the phone confirmed it would be ready by then. FRIDAY 6:20AM: My prescription is not ready. It's not even in the system. The guy tells me that I would have to wait 20 minutes or so because he still needs to put it in the system, and I tell him I will be back after lunch. FRIDAY 2:00PM: Finally, they give me the 5 pills. They tell me to come back on Monday after 5PM to get the rest. MONDAY 7:30PM: They don't have my prescription ready. Actually, they tell me that they just don't have it all and that they would call my doctor on Tuesday to get a prescription for something else. Are you kidding me? I went home, emailed my doctor, told him I was no longer going to deal with CVS, and asked him to call in a prescription to a Walgreens. ALL DONE. I will say that some (not all!) of the people behind the pharmacy counter were nice, but being nice doesn't get me my medicine. I have better things to do with my time than to go to their stupid pharmacy and NOT pick up anything. I agree with Jeff P. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Hands down the worst pharmacy customer service ever!!! My doctor faxed a prescription over to this CVS. I called them to see if they had received it. They told me it'd be ready in 1 hour. I gave them 2 hours before going to pick up my medicine and boy did I regret ever going to this CVS! First of all, the two pharmacists ignored me for 10 minutes while I patiently stood at the counter waiting. They had seen me there. I was the only person waiting. They chose to ignore me. I got frustrated and I went to the drop off area where one pharmacist was on a computer, and asked her about my prescription. She said, "oh yeah it's here... Give me one second." She supposedly went to look for my prescription but 15 min later never returned with it. When I poked my head into the pharmacy, she was back at her computer! We went through this routine three times! I finally got my medicine 1 hr later. It had been waiting for me in the pick up bin the whole time, the pharmacists were just 2 rude idiots with no people skills and no sense of urgency that for whatever reason took forever to give me my medicine which was right there waiting for me! Not only that but when i finally got my medicine, I paid for a few other items and the pharmacist dude that helped me did not put anything in a bag for me. I was treated like I was his worst enemy. He was so rude! This pharmacy has a drive thru and they saw a total of 2 cars during that hour I was there and drove those 2 customers up the wall too! It was unbelievable! I'm not going back here. I'm definitely going to the Vons pharmacy or Walgreens where people are caring and attentive. These two CVS pharmacists were a nightmare! I left there in such a bad mood! read more

I had to write an update and how horrible the Pharmacy located here is and frankly how stupid, lazy & dumb the employees who work here are. I was doing a friend a favor by dropping off an Rx and waiting until it was ready for pickup. I arrived with a copy of my friend's insurance card, their birthdate, the actual hard prescription paperwork and money. I had been to this location before and found it to be horrific at best so this time around I attempted to time my visit during non-peak hours. I arrived and found a line of 5+ people waiting to drop off prescriptions at the window that was manned by 1 person. The wait in the line literally took 45+ minutes to be seen. Finally it was my turn and I walked up to the cashier and handed the woman working the above provided information & paperwork. The employee looked in the computer and told me that my friend did not have prescription service. I said the number and member number is right there on the paperwork. I was told they would not be able to process the prescription until they received authorization from the insurance company. I stepped out of line and asked the employee what other information she needed. The employee wrote a piece of paper the information I needed to get from the insurance company. After calling the insurance company I discovered the employee had all the information she needed to process the prescription. The line was continuing to grow and this non multitasker was literally moving at a snail pace. I boycotted the line and approached the counter. No joke I literally stood in front of the female employee for 15+ minutes while she was on the phone only feet away without ever acknowledging my presence. Finally when she got off of the phone I was told that she got off of the phone with the insurance company and had the information needed. I told the employee I could of told you that 15+ minutes ago, what other reason do you think I was standing here with a piece of paper in my hand and the pen you provided me with, her answer 'I did not know why you were standing there so I did not ask.' This truly set me off and I had to explain how to the employee customer service and multitasking. I asked why she would handle one thing literally at a time while avoiding everything else that is going on as the line continues to grow; of course the employee had no answer. Honestly if you don't mind standing in line with some dirty folks, in a disgustingly dirty store only to be waited on by some of dumbest staff on the face of the planet be my guest. My total time to simply drop off a prescription and wait to pick it up during non-peak hours took over 2+ hours. I returned with the prescriptions my friend needed and told them that I will never go back to this location at any time for any reason. My friend subsequently called another CVS in the area and had his prescription services changed over to another store. I blame this CVS and the entire Pharmacy Department for hiring the folks they have working there. An old saying has stuck with me over the years 'Dumb breeds Dumb.' read more

This review is for the pharmacy. If I could give this zero stars, I would! My dentist called in my prescription and I was told it would be ready in an hour. I had to go somewhere, so I didn't pick it up until 3 hours later. After waiting in the drive thru for 20 minutes, the lady told me they couldn't find me in the system. I told her to check again because I was there when my dentist's assistant called in the prescription. She came back 5 minutes later and told me that she found it. I breathed a sigh of relief and then... She said, "it'll be ready in 15 minutes" and I was like "excuse me? So you mean you don't have it ready yet?" and she said "No" with a straight face! Freakin annoying as F!! She then told me if I wanted to come back or just wait inside. And I said "Do I have a choice!?!" and drove away. I went to the post office and came back 15 minutes later.. Same lady said she doesn't have it ready yet and it should be ready in 5 minutes. Pissed me off!!! I still had a lot of errands to run! My swollen gums and splitting headache made it all worse. I was fuming and said "I will be timing you and I will be expecting it precisely 5 minutes sharp!" She must've sensed my rage coz 5 minutes later she was hurrying with my prescription and told the customer she was helping at that moment to wait so she can finish up with me. Worst freakin customer service ever! Lousy and unorganized as hell! I rarely ever complain and I'm usually not very hard on lousy service but this was just too ridiculous! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. The pharmacy is incompetent and every time there is a new problem with my prescriptions. It should be fairly easy to refill a current prescription but somehow they manage to mess it up. They also never keep my savings cards on file, so each time I have to go through the drop off line, wait a long time, and then stand in another line. It's a hugely inconvenient process. The people that work there are less than competent. Also, everything they sell, I can get at target for much less expensive pricing. Just no, don't do it. I've had my prescriptions with this pharmacy for way too long and need to switch pronto. read more

I have never, ever, ever, had a good experience here at this pharmacy. It is horrible, the people are rude, and all of this is made worse by the fact that people who usually go to get prescriptions filled are usually sick. There is no consideration for their customers who just want their medicine. I once called ahead, gave them 2 hours to get my prescription refilled. I went to the drive through window. The pharmacist told me it wasn't ready (when initially I was told 25 minutes) and I told him I would wait. I was waiting in my car for 45 minutes at the drive through window. After 20 minutes, I was told to "hold on". Finally at 45 minutes, I rang the bell again and the pharmacist said that he "didn't know we were waiting." Do your self a favor. NEVER GO HERE. They are always confused, never get anything right, there is ALWAYS a long wait, even if there is only one person ahead of you. They seem to be more concerned with their own convenience rather than giving good customer service. DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!! read more

I come here moreso because my mom would come here way back when it was Sav-On and that was the closest one to the house. Back them customer service was really good. Now not so much. The managers are probably the only ones who are really nice to you when you come into the store. They also treat you very well when they are checking you out. Same goes for the pharmacy. Some of the people back there are really rude and give you an attitude. Not sure why the employee's there are so rude and disgruntled even when you're nice and cordial to them. I had it with this place. I don't expect too much from a pharmacy, but they have no cashiers, and the staff is just rude. Probably because this establishment is located in the ghetto? Lower socially economic class that strives on strife? Who knows, but some serious retraining in customer service is needed. It's a toss up between kind employees and tons of cops cars outside because of criminal activity. Yeah! don't be surprised if a police officer is on site every time you come here. There is always someone outside trying to get you to purchase a candy bar for their school sports team, or a starving family holding a sign and begging for your last dime. The employees inside tend to be kind and helpful. The Pharmacy is under staffed and they told me to come back in an hour to retrieve my prescription only to tell me when I got there it would be another hour! I told them to call me next time and they did which was helpful. An automated recording told me it was ready. The drive through pharmacy is convenient but usually takes at least 10 mins. read more
