Regardless of what the "gripers" are saying, there isn't a pharmacy in the area that takes care of as many prescriptions as this location handles. The store is well managed, sufficiently staffed and if you go online, as apparently some customers can't figure out, you can take care of all you prescriptions there in minutes. That gives you the options of picking them up at the drive through, picking them up at the counter, or having them mailed to you directly. How can anyone complain about that? But they will, and they do. People just like to complain! Pay no attention. This is a great store. read more

Some of the poor reviews are dated on here- I've literally never had a bad experience with this pharmacy. I have been getting my family's prescriptions filled here for several years. They are efficient filling new scripts, always respond to messages, and are always friendly when I visit the store. Always a good experience, appreciate them so much! read more

I understand it's going to be busy but this cvs takes the wait time to a whole other level. Other cvs locations in the general area are not as long as wait as this one. read more

Absolute worst cvs! Always a wait for anything. Rude, incompetent staff, especially in the pharmacy. Staff always appear harried, as if you are intruding on them. I will not be returning! read more

Can't speak to the axe grinding "reviews" that the other two Yelpers posted but my deal here was apparently far more simple and far better. I needed a picture printed out and was in the area so I uploaded it via the CVS website and chose this store which after creating an account took all of maybe three minutes. The pictures were supposedly going to be ready in three hours but I called the store and they told me more like an hour as what the website lists is a generalized padded time that does not reflect how busy the store is/or is not. I came in around two hours later and took care of the transaction with the cashier. This also took all of three minutes and thirty cents. All sounds good and as advertised to me. I guess I'll put my axe away until next time. read more

Horrible! No one answers the phone in the pharmacy. I waited 10min and finally hung up and this was on several occasions. If you are lucky enough to get through you will find the staff and pharmacist are rude. They dont fill your prescrptions on time but instead days later. Go elsewhere read more

What's the point of leaving a review on Yelp! Nothing changes. We need enough people to call the corporate office and leave their complaints about the CVS Pharmacy on Reading Rd., Ephrata. The first time I called today, I was on hold for 22 min. Then I called back, I got a lengthy recording, IN SPANISH!! I called again, on hold for 43 min., I timed it. They said my script was filled, but forgot to call me. This pharmacy needs to be shut down! The employees are slow and don't care. The worst, no star rating, pharmacy I have ever dealt with! read more

CVS in Ephrata is very busy and they need more staff onboard. The staff they do have are very nice but hurried. The Ephrata store is not clean and the one public bathroom they have is filthy. You go to a drugstore to get Rx and medical items but you are afraid to touch anything. Please clean and sanitize this store!!! The food stores are much cleaner. read more

Absolutely the worst pharmacy I've ever used. If I were to share it would take 2 days to write it all down. STAY AWAY FROM THE PHARMACY! There are 2 hometown pharmacies one in Denver and the other is at Weavers grocery store. Both of them are Anderson's. read more

DO NOT TRY TO CALL THIS PLACE . I have tried 2:00 pm 10 am 7pm and EVERY TIME I waited over an hour only to get disconnected . I am glad I was not feeling good otherwise I would cut their useless phone lines. read more

I am a healthcare professional with 35 years experience in anesthesia.I have a working understanding of the pharmacy process. I transferred my prescriptions from LGH pharmacy as a matter of convenience. It has been an absolute disaster. The both pharmacists show a total lack of understanding, compassion or more importantly demostrate apathy toward the customer. I have dealt with many CVS's in my lifetime, and have never been so disappointed rising to the level of posting a review. I am not one that would throw the baby out with the bath water, but I would have terminated the both pharmacists on duty tonight. I politely asked for the managers business card, in which they had none. This was my fourth interaction for the same problem that they created and each time it was explaining their problem over and over again. I will be transferring my prescriptions and spreading the gospel. read more

honestly... if you're from the area this cvs is comparable to the Ephrata Dunkin' Donuts. (SUCKS) They don't call you to let you know they your meds are done. If you need to call them- get ready for a 20 In wait AT LEAST. They'll tell things are ready, you get there to pick them up- Not READY?? HOW !? I get my monthly meds there and have been for about 2 years. (I don't use this pharmacy because I want too, basically because it's the only one in the area that's convenient). I used it when I broke my arm about 3 mo ago. I went there after leaving urgent care (I gave about 1.5 hrs ) they still hadn't filled one of the two meds I needed for this? Then love to give attitude to customers if the customer asks a question or has anything to say. RUDE employees, slow, a mess and I'd definitely go somewhere else if there was somewhere else to go. read more

I use the CVS pharmacy on Reading Road in Ephrata PA because it is convenient location and because it is a preferred pharmacy for my prescription plan. During my visit 2 months I picked up 3 of my prescription refills. As always, each prescription was placed in a separate bag. When I got home I discovered that the pharmacist had given me the wrong pills. When I returned them to the pharmacy, the pharmacist corrected the error and then implied that I had switched the pills when I got home. He stated, "It would not be the first time that happened". I tried to contact the pharmacy supervisor but was told that he was on paternity leave. I received a call from a Customer Relations Rep who told me the Pharmacy supervisor would contact me. I have heard nothing. read more

I called to ask a question and the pharmacy tech was extremely rude. I went to the store and the line was very long so perhaps it was just a bad day. I will not return for any prescriptions in the future. There is obviously a staffing problem. read more

CVS Pharmacy Ephrata Pa / Ever time you call this location you wait 20 to 30 min. Nothing their changes. They are slow and often clueless. As a individual with medical expertise I use them because my insurance Silver Scripts is part of their net work. If I could use any other pharmacy I would. read more

This CVS store is fine;however, they have the most inefficient and disorganized pharmacy I've ever seen. Prescriptions are never ready when promised and they are frequently out of a requested medicine. They definitely can't handle the volume of customers and prescription requests. We no longer use them as a pharmacy. read more

Had a great experience at this location, I was helped by a girl named Dorlisa who went above and beyond to provide amazing customer service. I did witness some of the other employees treat other customers badly, but that's really none of my business. All I know is I will be back soon and hoping Dorlisa is there to help. read more

yet again an all of a sudden problem with a place I been a member of for decades, how cvs Ephrata constantly gives damaged prescriptions, or not the right amount, I have been a member decades years never had a problem up until especially the last few months, when pharm tech Janice likes to argue, belittle and laugh at you. its been non stop with her including a pharmacists named sarah who over heard how she screws with people telling me there is no scripts when there are? also telling me I am damaging scripts or taking things out? I have been a member for over 20 years mind you and never had problems, now all of a sudden I have been damaging my own things that I pay for along with insurance?? JANICE YOURE INSANE and shouldn't be working around people if you are that miserable the only way you can get off is to screw with others, you are a sick individual, my doctors office has even seen me open the brown bags of scripts seeing the damage? are you going to call them liars too???? there is no logic to anything she has accused me of, like I really enjoy driving there and back there and back to be abused by cvs staff, when I never had issues before?? you people are sick and here are the pics I took at the doctors office, I REFUSE to pick up any script, I been promised a change for months and stuck it out, you should be ashamed of yourselves read more

I had a Rx called in by my Dr. and I got a text from CVS that I needed to update my insurance information. I called all day in an attempt to do that but no one ever answered the phone. My phone was fully charged when I called the first time. I tried for so long and so many times my phone battery died. CVS is a criminal run organization. They have deals with insurance companies that prohibit me from seeing MY real Pharmacist. Unfortunately since CVS has a monopoly set up with most extorsio.... umm I mean insurance companies, I am FORCED to do business with them. I doubt the employees can be blamed entirely. They, like the rest of us are probably overworked and underpaid. Our entire medical system is an absolute disgrace, every single facet of it. read more

I have used this pharmacy for years, strictly due to convenience. Otherwise, I think it's a terrible place to rely on for your prescriptions. I have had several issues over the years, but the worse yet occurred yesterday (1-21-2020). I went through the drive through to get my scripts. I sat there for about 20 minutes. Only one car was a head of me. Ok. Fine. I get my scripts finally and go home. As I am sorting through them, I realize that one of the scripts was not my own. It was a medication I take, but the dosage was wrong and it belonged to an entirely different patient. So very many violations here. Patient privacy for one. I now know what medication this patient takes and his home address. I went back to the pharmacy to inform them of their mistake. The technician that I talked to seemed less than concerned. He said he would write up a report, but I have my doubts that he planned to follow through with that. Horrible. Just horrible. Someone could have died, with that mistake, and they could have cared less. read more

I hate the pharmacy part. I really do not suggest making them your primary. They are super slow in filling prescriptions. So I went there and asked if I could have my prescription transferred to Royers pharmacy and they said Royers would have to call them. Royers called then and are now telling them they don't have my prescription ready. I'm just so annoyed with them. read more

Both the store & pharmacy are frequently "out of" both store items & meds. This is not a typical cvs location. The customer service at this location is DEPLORABLE at best. From the cash register to the pharmacy itself-many workers that I have come across are simply rude. After calling in a complaint to the manager of this location (who stated "oh, yes-we have received several complaints about this person")-I see things have only gotten worse. When I had a question about a prescription-the pharmacist cut me off (while on the phone) & sd-so is that all that you need? As if he was in a hurry. When I sarcastically told him that I was sorry to take up his time bc he seemed to be in such a hurry-his reply? Always. We'll be taking our business elsewhere. Beware of the little treasure "Dawn" behind the pharmacy counter. She will ask for your address, interrupt you before you finish, then ask for your address again. She also seems to like walking away as you are giving her other info that she has requested, only to come back & ask for the info you were giving her as she walked away. When the people behind me witnessed this, they stated that they "hating getting her when the come to the pharmacy counter". Excellent. read more

I will NEVER step foot in CVS Ephrata again. The pharmacy manger was incredible rude as was the pharmacy check out girl. I returned to pickup the other half of my prescription (was suppose to get 2 inhalers and only received 1). This has happened before. I called ahead and when I got there the manager refused to give me the rest of my prescription and would not change the $ charge for getting half of the order. Told me he would do me a favor and let me return my inhaler for a refund. How is that doing me a favor? I was not able to get my prescription. Treated very rudely when getting my charge removed from my credit card by girl. Unbelievable!!!!!!! read more

I wish there was a rating less than zero. As the others have noted the pharmacy is not only poorly run and understaffed, they are also poor at customer service. Over the years they have been slow. Even if your prescription was ready it would take forever to find it. The employees are clearly bothered about stopping what they are doing to wait in customers. Finally for me two months in a row I have driven the 20 minutes there only to be told they don't have my prescription. Last month they ran out and never bothered to call to tell me. This month I waited two hours past the they time they promised my prescription would be ready, only to tell me when I got their that sorry multiple technician did not come to work so please come back in 1/2 hour. Never again, and I suggest you go somewhere that cares about their customers. read more

Update: I figured I give them one more try. I had my doctors office call in a prescription here. I called yesterday to see if it was ready and cvs said yes. I went there today to get the prescription and the clerk had issues finding it. After seeing it was under a different name, she gave it to me. I asked about using my cvs card for it. She said it wouldn't make much of a difference and wouldn't save me any money. Once I got home, I found out on the receipt slip that my insurance wasn't billed and I was charged full price for the medicine and on top of that, it was the wrong medicine. I called them and went back to return the prescription, they said they didn't have the right prescription in stock and I would have to wait several days for it. I just asked for my money back and said to them I'll go somewhere else. I then went to the doctors office to get the paper copy of my prescription they sent over to cvs the other day, and guess what, my name was spelled correctly on that! So someone at cvs didn't input it into their computer correctly. This place is a joke. Don't go here. Only go here if you want your time wasted and you want to deal with hassles. read more

I absolutely disagree with the prior 2 Yelps. I have found this CVS location to have excellent service. I take a tremendous amount of medicine. I usually wait no more then 15 minutes for a prescription. My daughter was recently forced to take a medication, and developed a strange reaction, on a weekend. Of course, the doctor was not on duty. The pharmacist was extremely helpful in answering my questions and assisting me. read more

Numerous times I've called prescriptions in the day before and when i've gone to pick them up I've been told they are not ready and i'll have to come back . I would be worried that writing a negative, yet truthful, review could possibly affect the service I receive, however it couldn't get much worse. Last time I was there, I was shorted on my meds. Upon returning home and opening my prescription a week later when I needed them, I discovered I was 16 short. I returned to the pharmacy and told them I was shorted. The customer service was horrible, I was basically told that I was wrong and that I must be drug seeking. I continued to plead my case saying they must keep record of the count on hand and was told that they didn't. Luckily the Pharmacist on duty,Celeste, overheard me and investigated the situation. Since my medication is only dispensed in quantities of 30 and there was a partial box of 16. Simple enough to figure out? Not for a majority of the CVS specialists whom are supposed to be trained in customer service. They also said that my script had been double checked by the pharmacist so there was no way I was shorted. The pharmacist on duty must have been rushed and grabbed a partial box and too lazy to count them. My advice, check quantity before you leave. Not everyone as lucky as me. read more

I recently called to speak to someone in the pharmacy, and when she answered the phone and said hello, I explained why I was calling and she said "hold on, I'm trying to finish up something" then put me on hold for 2 minutes... Not acceptable. Then when she came back, she was incredibly rude, and very impatient with me. Sorry you are having a bad day, but that is not my fault... She shot down every question I had with a rude response like I was supposed to know the answer. Why would I be asking if I already knew the answer?! Anyway, she said she would have to figure something out that may take up to 2 hours, and I said "do I call back or would you?" And she responded "no. You would have to call us because I won't remember we are too busy here." Just her overall attitude was very unwelcoming and does not make me want to continue business with them. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I don't know why you would ever hold a job in a customer service field if you just suck as a person... read more
