I saw an alert that my card was approved for my medication... The cashier didn't seem to understand what "merchant" meant, and tried to make me call my CC company to get it done. The manager told me it would take a while.. so I told her it wasn't a problem, I trust they're capable of handling it. My phone suddenly alerted me to another transaction, and told her it was approved, to which she denied. She had me swipe my card AGAIN.. ANOTHER duplicate transactions and only 2 minutes later, she was done. I guess it takes "a while" when you don't know what you're doing...

A company that used to offer some semblance of customer support, now offers none at all. This particular store in East Rockaway, NY., is a perfect example of how not to manage a pharmacy, or, any business for that matter. There was a time when the people working there actually had an understanding of why they were working there in the first place: to serve their customers. Those of you who have patronized this store for some time probably remember the pharmacist Bill, who always went above and beyond to assist the customers. When he left, this CVS store began its slide to the bottom. The current group of pharmacists and assistants in this store exude an attitude that is so negative that it's hard to put it into words; suffice to say, they don't like the customers, they don't want to work there, and most importantly, they do not care about the customers on a personal or professional level. The problems at the store level are indicative of the attitude at the top of the company. As the saying goes "a fish rots from the head down." They just won't listen to any complaints from customers because they've forgotten who it is they work for and why they are in business in the first place. They have now put their contempt for their customers into policy: Customers can no longer speak directly with a pharmacist or assistant when you contact them by phone. Instead, you now have to leave a message, and hope that one of their staff gets back to you. The manager of the store seems to actually care about the customers, but she is unable to hold back the tide of ineptitude, contempt, and overall incompetence of the pharmacy staff. It's just a matter of time before this location shuts down. I'm no longer a customer and I've spoken to many others who have exited this s*hit show. This review is my opinion about this business and you might find that your experience differs from mine. With that said, I cannot recommend this business and highly recommend that shoppers go elsewhere.

(Kinda bummy, urban wear, sweats and and beanie), I said hello! He looked at me with a very blank confused stare. I asked him where the get well cards were and he directed me. Upon going to the register, I asked for two get well soon balloons. Two staff members worked hard to try to find them for me. They looked through all of the boxes to no avail. They found a pack of regular balloons in a quantity of 15 and asked if I wanted to do the plain ones instead. I agreed. I asked how much and they said it's $5 to blow up each of the graphic ones. I said but these are plain, they usually are sold and blown up by the dozen or half dozen. The staff agreed and had to get the manager to approve. Once Jason Lambert came over, he was looking at me crazy and told me I had to get all 15 in the pack behind their counter or take one of the ones on display in the store. I had no choice but to have one of the deflated ones re-inflated. I feel like im the customer and what would've been wrong in just giving me 1/2 a dozen of the balloons from the litter instead of making no sale at all. He was kinda pretentious and condescending, never coming here again. Felt personal. Does everyone have to have all 15 inflated from the pickings behind the counter or just someone like...me? My only complaints are that there is no bathroom and that one time I called the pharmacy in the morning and was told a prescription would be ready in 4 hours, but even when I showed up 5 hours later it wasn't ready. And the line takes forever even when there are only 2-3 patrons before me. Plenty of parking outside. I like that there are smoothies and yogurts at the beginning of the main aisle so that it grabs my attention rather than chips or chocolate.
