This review is for the passport photo services. If you're coming in for passport services MAKE SURE to get a printout of the VERIFICATION CERTIFICATE. I left without mine and my first passport verification failed. I wasn't charged for the retake photo which was nice. However the process wasted precious time and required that I mail off the application twice. I was sure to get the passport photo verification certificate the next time and the photo was accepted. I had a very good experience with the staff here. The attendants I have worked with have always been efficient and professional. read more

I take a medication that is a controlled substance apparently. I didn't even realize it was a controlled substance tbh until this experience. Well my insurance will pay for the extended release but not the version that works best for me. In SF the CVS would just use a coupon and I would pay out of pocket the $30 the meds are worth. Well, according to the "personal judgement" of the Pharmacy Manager at this location ... he created a policy that only applies to controlled substances. No one on a controlled substance can use an out of pocket coupon for their meds at "his" pharmacy. This is purely a policy that he decided upon on his own, not based on science or anything medically based ... purely to hurt poor people who need meds that are controlled and they have to pay out of pocket. I find this discriminatory, disgusting, and despicable. His job is to dispense meds as prescribed not to be a judge and jury to keep me from such meds because I can't afford to pay $1700 out of pocket. Shame on CVS for employing a discriminator such as this. Smh. I hope someday he is standing at the gates of heaven and God says to him, "Sorry, you can't get in. It's my personal judgement. I'd give a minus stars review if I could their phone service is dreadful. trying to order a refill on phone is an ordeal and sometimes not possible at all. no way to reach a real live person. just a very stupid robot. on the plus side, they do accept payment by personal check (the CVS at Target does not accept checks). and one of my meds is expensive. Terrible. CVS Pharmacy here needs to get their human pharmacists and their "virtual phone responder" on the same page. I am 77, have a recently broken broken hip with a partial joint replacement, and was suffering from days of pain and insomnia. I called and was told by the virtual assistant that a sleep/pain medicine I had previously received was eligible for renewal, so I agreed on line and went to the store to pick it up. When I got there, the pharmacists said the prescription had expired. I aksed again, her refused. Then why the hell didn't the virtual assistant tell me that? The lack of human contact and the pure misleading information from their telephone droid are inexcusable and, in some instances, could be life-threatening. read more

Had to spend forty minutes waiting around in line for pharmacy where they kept telling me to get back in line, then wait, then get back in line again. I did not expect to be writing this tonight . I ordered an 11x14 photo print, but when I picked it up, it was printed on a sticker-type paper, which was not what I ordered. I went back to the store simply seeking a refund or correction, thinking it would be a quick and easy fix. A kind young employee initially began assisting me, but then called over another staff member--possibly a manager or supervisor named Jenny--for help with processing the return. Unfortunately, instead of making the process smoother, Jenny was noticeably impatient and annoyed. I was asked to retrieve my ID, which was in my car at that point. Then after Jenny entered my id information she informed me I also needed my original form of payment. Since I didn't phone on me and I used Apple Pay I asked if the refund could just be issued on a gift card. I really did not want to go back to my car for a third time. At that point, Jenny audibly sighed, rolled her eyes, and generally treated me with a tone and attitude that felt rude and unprofessional. This entire situation was due to a CVS printing error, not anything I did wrong yet I was treated as if it was a burden to ask for a solution. Every time I get a notification that my meds are ready, the CVS on W COVELL in Davis, invariably screws something up or makes things unnecessarily difficult for the customer. Corporate oversight has clearly failed, because basic human decency and fulfillment of job duties isn't on anyone's agenda. The one on E COVELL is marginally more acceptable. read more

Terrible pharmacy - I would avoid at all costs. Put my prescription on hold for 4 days, no explanation, if you call you have to leave a message and they say they will call back - they don't. When I finally went to pick up my prescription I asked about the hold - "crickets", with all the technology today, they could not or would not tell me, and the person I was speaking to couldn't care less and had a shitty attitude- Bye bye - I've moved to a different pharmacy. read more

She was found walking at aisles always in conversation with coworkers and moving customers out of her way. She is very rude and yelling at the customers. This CVS pharmacy gave me the wrong prescription, a one month supply of a lower dose (a previous Rx) and I was shorted the 3 month supply of the higher dose. Because they already charged my insurance for the 3 month supply I am unable to get my medication and they have literally done nothing to try to resolve this. They looked at the survallience video but all they have is a video of someone mailing me 2 bottles, they have no way of seeing the label on the medication. This is completely unacceptable! I have contacted their corporate office and my physician, so hopefully it can get resolved. read more

Three people gave me three different answers. The receptionist said there was no order for me, but my doctor said they sent the order to CVS three hours ago. Another person said, "Your order is here, but there's no medication. Let me check after two days." Finally, the third person said I could get my prescription right away. This is the most convenient location for us, but unfortunately we always seem to have issues dealing with the pharmacy staff. They are unhelpful and don't seem to care about customer service whatsoever. They recently said our insurance card wasn't active, even though we had picked up a prescription just a few days before. They will say that a doctors prescription is incorrect and refuse to fill a simple antibiotic for a child. read more

CVS usually have been my favorite go to drugstore place for vitamins and toiletries, so when I when I went to this branch I was expecting to just buy my stuff and go, unfortunately this branch don't have any of the things I needed that they usually carry. I tried to ask for help but the associate was not very friendly. I felt like he just brushed me off. Also, the store itself is very messy, you can see shelves over empty metal shelves. This isn't just fhe worsf CVS I have ever been to. If is not just the worst *pharmacy / general store* that I've ever been to. Though it is definitely that as well. It is the worst *store* of any kind that I have ever been to in my 7+ decades of life. You cannot EVER find anyone to help you. I am disabled, so have trouble walking, and there is NEVER ANY STORE EMPLOYEE VISIBLE ANYWHERE IN THE STORE. Today, a kindly delivery person (not a CVS employee) showed me that a mile away from where I asked, there is a teeny-tiny button with a teeny-tiny sign that says Press Here for Customer Service. The button doesn't work well, but after three presses someone finally began a slow walk from wherever she had been to where the teeny-tiny button was. I asked where in the store I could find the very well-known product I was looking for. She had never heard of it, so I had to explain more medical details than I was comfortable with. Finally I bought the product. I had to press the button again to get the same person to ring me up, even though she could easily see me coming to the checkout counter. She made sure to ask me if I wanted a receipt instead of just giving me one. I wonder how much sales tax California loses from non-receipt purchases. I will NEVER shop at that CVS again. If only we had mom & pop corner drugstores once again. Because if it were possible, I would never ever shop at a CVS again. But unfortunately since Big Pharma took over, most towns don't even have a mom & pop corner drugstore. read more

I've been using this pharmacy since I was a kid and they have always been so nice and friendly. Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. I know they are very busy and as such I have had some pretty long wait times for medications a couple times I've had to call to remind them to fill RX, thats the only reason why it's 4/5 stars and not 5/5. Other than that though I always recommend them as the best pharmacy in town. Rachelle, Katharina and Andrew were especially helpful and patient with me for a particularly difficult RX problem to solve. I can't say enough nice things about them :) read more

I didn't know that some of their products were locked away or behind the counter, but she was able to assist me and help me. :) I initially tried to get help from this girl, I think her nametag said, Ariana, she was so rude to me. This is the ABSOLUTE worst CVS I have ever been to in my entire life. I have never had a problem with pharmacies before, but this place makes me so wary of pharmacies now. I have had the same prescription and picked it up monthly for about 4-5 years. I recently moved to Davis and therefore changed pharmacies to this one and it was honestly the biggest mistake ever. First, they switched my prescription to the brand name WITHOUT TELLING ME. Pharmacists are required to tell you if ANYTHING changes in the prescription; it's the law. Because of this change I wasn't notified of and because I had opened the prescription to see that it was different, they will not let me return or exchange the remaining unopened packages that I have. Now this usually is not a problem, but the medicine that I have been taking has given me health problems recently. Serious health problems. When I called to report what had happened and get my prescription changed, the pharmacist was extremely rude and curt with me. He offered absolutely no help as well as was in a rush to hang up. He was disrespectful and dismissive of me, and barely listened when I explained my problem. I NEVER EVER want anyone to EVER have this same experience. Horrible experience! My sister had total knee Replacement and her pain medication was called into our local pharmacy but they closed before we could get it. We called the hospital who called into cvs and ordered 10 tablets to get through the night. After calling twice within a half hour of the call they still didn't have the prescription so the hospital called and they told them the same thing. The hospital them wrote out a hard copy for me to take and when I get there all the sudden they had the electronic copy and wouldn't fill either because they were duplicates and they thought I was some kind of druggy, now mind you they had spoken to me and the hospital several times! It took nearly an hour for them to decide they would give me the medication! The pharmacist was very rude in talking to me and handled the entire situation poorly! read more

They're friendly to white customers and rude to black and Mexican customers. I expressed my feelings in a previous review and yesterday I went to pick my RX and they refused to fill it. They said it's because of the negative review I gave them. They were scared to tell me that to my face they waited to tell my wife over the phone (Which is hilarious lol) But that's not all. When I had my had RX switched to different pharmacy the new pharmacy told me the people at the west covell cvs were purposely holding up the RX and preventing them from being able to fill it. I used to be a Target kind of gal, but with my CVS card and the emails I receive weekly with coupons, many customized according to previous purchases, I've switched my drugstore allegiance to CVS. The worst pharmacy ever dealt with in decades!!! Reordered a very time sensitive prescription. Went to pick it up and they said had NO record of my request. Pulled out my phone to prove that they were ones who sent me the refilled request was processed on date I stated. Offered no help or assistance. Had to call their CVS Speciality pharm again. Apparently they cancelled the order bce the copay was too high!! 1) should have called me before cancelling it!!! 2) they are running in to this all the time bce it's beginning of January. We all know we have the yearly deductible to pay! Nothing unusual! 3) Paid it over the phone before receiving medicine days later!! 4) I have to do these injections ON THE DAY due. 5) How about taking my copay WHEN I pick up script, rather than forcing me to pay over phone DAYS b4 I can receive med at store!? 6) You should have called me to tell me you unilaterally were cancelling my refill request! 7) You should have collected my copay at time of pick up, not days b4 I get med!! 8) Bce of bad policy, you forced me to make $250 appt with prescribing doc to get his ok to do injection days late. He was extremely angry at your foolish and dangerous policy! 9) This isn't first time this pharm has acted in an 'antipatient' way. 10). I went in on Thursday July 15 at about 9AM to get batteries for thermometers. Two gentlemen provided me such wonderful customer care that I have not witnessed for long many years! This place does not help you at all. They tell you one thing and do another. The white girl that is like a manager in the pharmacy. She has a major attitude problem. I'm a older white man with my black woman caregiver. She would not fill my meds. Said the doctor messed up. That is fine. But when I asked her for help. Pharmacy needs better management. 30-45 wait turned out to be closer to 90 min on a Sunday morning. They couldn't locate my prescription at first because they documented my info incorrectly and it wasn't until I checked in after waiting 45 min until they put my prescription in the queue to be filled. The pick up counter pharmacist seemed a bit aloof and mad at life and the drop off counter pharmacist seemed like she could care less about her job. Painful experience. read more

CVS really needs to address their rude Pharmacist techs and they really need to work on their communication, process and procedures for the customers. I came in on 4/18/2017 to pick up an RX with a online co-pay rebate (at Drop-off counter). The pharmacist tech at the time did try to help me and had to make an order for the name-brand RX and said it would be here in a couple days. Came in today to pick it up the RX at pick-up (which I was texted to come get) then got transferred back to Drop-off counter again. A new Pharmacist tech said that my RX for generic would have to be re-written for the name-brand. This could be true, but would be nice if the original Pharmacist tech would of told me that, so I could of planned that and not have to wait in multiple lines. * this was on top of the rude tone from the Pharmacist tech. So I figured instead of going back and forth to CVS I just end up paying the co-pay. The Pharmacist tech asked me to go back in the line (8+ people). This pharmacy is the most walk-able distance from my apartment but has been extremely frustrating. I have ADHD and need adhd medication to practically function as a member of society and I've never had a pharmacy so difficult. I used to take prescribed adderall and would get a new bottle every month and 7 times in a row when I would arrive, there would be some ridiculous error on their end or many times they would say that my doctor hadn't filled it out correctly even though my doctor had. My own doctor even told me she's never had a pharmacy this difficult to deal with in her career. There's been many times where I had to go 1-3 days without medication because they couldn't fill it on time or there was an error. Because it's a controlled substance I can't have it pre-filled beforehand. Luckily they're doing a better job at filling my medication on time but I always have this gut feeling that something was going to be messed up everytime I go there. If you have medication that you need to stay alive that needs to be filled on time, I'd highly recommend some other pharmacy. read more

I didn't catch his name, but while I was in there at 9:45pm on Monday 2/26, I was helped by a super nice guy working as cashier. I was clearly lost trying to find something, and he walked me over to what I was looking for in a very upbeat manner. At the register, he was just overall super nice and positive to me as well as everybody else in line. I left the store with a smile from my pleasant experience with him. I had an extremely bad experience today with what I thought was a sales person/cashier at this CVS. She was extremely rude to me and discourteous. Another person standing nearby who witnessed what was going on said "she [this clerk] is the rudest person." Apparently, she had been rude to her too. Then this other person asked for the manager, and I chimed in "yes I would like to speak to the manager." Of course this clerk then informed us that she is the manager. Figures! The night shift manager woman is so rude here. Avoid here if you need to do anything more than making a simple purchase. CVS pharmacy is renowned for its excellent cosmetics return policy which is the only reason I buy their overpriced products. I tried to make a return of a lipstick with a receipt, and the night manager says "We can't accept that. The barcode is missing." I reply that I have the receipt and that the barcode was printed onto the shrink wrap that I removed in order to try the lipstick. She asks "What's wrong with it?" and I replied that "the lipstick feels cheap." Her reply? "It's a cheap product, what do you expect?" I tell her that I'm a student and that money can be tight, but I wanted a lipstick for my graduation and she said "Well, I'm a full time student too." Well excuse me. Last I checked, the customer with the receipt and the product guarantee is always right, not the bitchy manager who calls me out for being cheap in front of the other patrons in line. I knew if I fought back, people would say that I (the 22 year old college student) was an unmannered brat, but a 40-50 year old something manager should know better...otherwise how else would she have even been promoted into a manager? read more

Just started picking up prescriptions here and I've already had a few issues. On a one occasion one of the techs stated she couldn't find my prescription in the computer. I called my doctor and had to wait there 20 minutes until she called back. Come to find out, the tech didn't scroll down far enough to see the prescription on the screen. Had to wait another 30 minutes for them to fill the prescription which should have been ready when I got there an hour earlier. Just a few days ago they filled the wrong prescription amount. Haven't had a chance to go back and tackle this problem. Gave 3 stars to give the benefit of the doubt, but we'll see if thug rating goes up or down in the near future . Update: picked up my recent prescriptions and they forgot to put one in the bag. Down to 2 stars... read more
