So angry right now I'm fuming. I had called earlier in the week to get two prescriptions refilled. After I got the "ready" text, I showed up, and they only gave me one. So I inquired about the other one, and first the pharm tech told me that they only had two available and couldn't give me the 3-month yet. Then the pharmacist took over from the pharmacy tech for some reason. He told me that my insurance wouldn't refill it yet because when they last filled, they had given me two boxes of 60 doses each (so 120 total) and it had only been a little over two months so I shouldn't be empty yet. He kept asking me if I took more than one dose a day, to which I said no. They had not given me as many doses as they had supposedly put into the computer. He kept mansplaining to me that 30 x 2 = 60 over two boxes and did I understand that math. I said yes but they were done and I even skipped doses on the first box. But he kept asking me if I took more than 1 dose a day. I told him the last one they gave me only had 30; I threw it out when the ticker said 0. Then he showed me the box they gave me and said that it had 60 doses total, even though the PICTURE on the box literally shows "30". I pointed that out to him, and he kept denying me and treating me like I was stupid -- repeating basic math about dosage times days. Then he read something on the packaging that said the medication contains "2 foil strips of 30 blisters each", so 2x30=60 doses. Well, if you actually read the rest of it, it goes on to say that one foil strip contains 100 mcg of abc ingredients while the other strip contains 25 mcg of xyz ingredients...so therefore 2 foil strips make up 1 blister which makes up 1 dose...otherwise, if you are only taking 1 dose of each of these every day, you're taking two different sets of ingredients every other day. Which is impossible to do, considering that the foil strips are internal, and you don't see them. Then I read the package insert, which said to discard the medication 6 weeks after opening, which I told him and asked how there could be 60 doses for 60 days if you are supposed to throw the medication out after only 45 days. He went back to the foil strips, which still didn't make any sense (on his part, not the packaging). He kept rereading it to me over and over and asking if I understood, condescendingly. At one point, he also tried to blame it (although he never admitted anyone was wrong but me, so I'm not really sure what he was blaming them for) on the pharmacist who originally filled my prescription. Finally, he did something to let it go through the insurance -- I'll give him that. And just in case I was in fact using it wrong and there were 30 more doses than I realized (despite the ticker saying "0"), I asked him to show me how to use it. He then admitted he had never opened one of this particular medication before and had no idea how to use it. Shocker. He told me he could open it and read the instructions to me if I wanted, to which I replied no and left. I've never been more insulted by a pharmacist. I'm not really sure how someone who went to pharmacy school can lack basic common sense such as to misread what it plainly states on the package. I actually questioned whether he was a fraud or not...Sucks that my insurance makes me go through CVS. :( read more
