I visited the Castle Hayne CVS Pharmacy on 9/21/2025 at 10:09AM and was very disappointed with the experience. The Pharmacy opened late, and when I asked how long the delay was going to be, the employee, clearly annoyed that I asked a question (deciding to wait or come back) rudely replied: " when the pharmacist gets here". Ok, that does not answer my question. Turns out, it was only 5 minutes. However, when I was finally helped, the employee working the register made no apology for the delay. There was no greeting, no name tag, no smile, and no effort to provide even basic courtesy. When the register prompted me for a signature, she just stared straight ahead without any guidance or explanation, leaving me confused. Her demeanor came across as if she was annoyed to be at work and even more annoyed that she had to assist customers at all. When I asked if she was having a bad day, she ignored the question. When I asked her for her name, she replied :" That will be ten dollars". A little customer service training would go a long way here. If interacting with customers is such a burden, perhaps a role that doesn't require it would be a better fit. As a customer, I expect at least minimal professionalism and courtesy, especially from a pharmacy. I am not sure I am comfortable with such a rude person knowing my medications. read more

I have been using this pharmacy for years, ever since it relocated from across the street. I have always received nice, fast courteous service from all of their employees. Also, on many occasions, they went out of their way to find the best price for my needs. Maybe if some of these critics showed a little kindness and respect toward these hard working folks they'd feel somewhat better about their experiences there. read more

I usually used Walgreens in the pass but decided to use CVS to pick up these prescription. This locations was much more confident for me versus having to drive back into town so I gave it shot . Won't do that again , very disappointed in the staff of the pharmacy. The young lady who helped me get the insurance ran through for the prescriptions and check out was very understanding . However , I assume the pharmacy that was on duty was far from that . I don't know if she knows that other people can see, as well as hear her when she's talking about it people . So the comments that felt the need to make about people are far from appropriate. The professionalism at this location is a 0/10 . Hopefully this was just a one off day but I highly doubt it. read more

I came in late and they were able to fill my script, but weren't able to give me my flu shot. Since it was the second CVS I attempted to get a flu shot from that day, I was pretty disappointed. Still, it didn't take too long to get my script. Also, the pharmacy tech managed to get my script released from the location that didn't fill it in time from the morning, even though she told me they didn't pick up their phone. I got a 20% of coupon and was really excited. I picked out $80 worth of stuff. When I got to the register, I found out that in the fine print, it excluded sale items. I was annoyed and put back all my stuff because I wouldn't have gotten it if not for the coupon. The sales and Extrabucks promotions were clearly marked, so this location at least had that going for it. read more

Stay away from this place. HORRIBLE service inside and drive thru. If you want to wait 25 minutes in the drive thru with one car in front of you i suggest going there. Then we needed help the lady had no clue as to what she was doing. I asked for name she said Kenneth. read more

Fist thing is this is the 3rd time in two weeks i have had a problem with the pharmacy. my son, wife and myself have had problems getting our prescriptions, first my son had a prescription for his advair inhaler, they said insurance would not cover it and it was almost 100.00 dollars. come to find out insurance needed a 90 day supply and they where trying to fill a 30 day supply. mt wife had to go in after several days of this and the person who she spoke to said ok and took 3 boxes off the shelf, billed it and it was done that easy. why didnt they do it in the first place. seems like it depends on who is helping you. I just had the same this happen. they wanted to put a prescription on a discount card and told me my insurance would not cover it. the price was 97.00 dollars. I got home and looked up ,my plan and it said that insurance would cover a 30 day supply for my medication for a couple of months then i would have to go to the 90 day supply. I called them to explain this and they now said it was wrote for one or two tablets and insurance would not cover two tablets a day. I told them to fill it for one a day then. all the sudden it will go through insurance, and alot less than they wanted on the discount card. my wife was trying to fill a prescription and they contacted a doctor for a refill. the problem was they contacted a doctor that was not my wifes to refil it. All this in the last two weeks. We have found that some of the people working in the pharmacy will take a minute and try to help figure it out. and those individuals can fix things on the spot most of the time, while others just do not even want to try. Sorry attitudes by few makes the whole team look really bad. read more

Horrific service. Cashier geeeted me when I came in. She sent me in the direction of a vitamin I was prescribed. I went and looked and looked. I went to pharmacy and spoke with a dark haired, young lady, probably in her 20s. I asked her to help me. She made no bones about telling me, it wasnt her job and to ask the cashier, because they stock the shelves. The cashier was left to man the rest, of the store alone. 4 people were in the pharmacy. 2 people are currently in line, for the cashier. What kind of service is that? read more

People working the front of store are great. Pharmacy is extremely rude I absolutely dread when I have to pick up my meds here

I'm not a fan of CVS pharm in general but this one in Castle hayne is the worst one I've ever experienced. The retail store is fine, but the pharmacy staff is a disaster. They lose things constantly, scripts are never ready when I get there, (hours after promised), etc. It's a train wreck. I am absolutely leaving this pharmacy. read more
