This is THE WORST Pharmacy on earth. The people working there are a bunch of aholes, and I'm being nice. They waste so much of people's time. I went there twice to pick up my medicine, and the Dr confirmed the prescription. Went there again today, and was told y was sent to a different CVS, and it will take 30 mins. I asked if they can do it earlier than 30 mins and was told NO! So I drove to Ventura and they confirmed that the prescription was sent to Carpinteria. The E. I have been going to this CVS location for years and I have to say that it has really gone downhill in recent times. I am giving three stars still because all the folks working at the pharmacy are great! They are helpful, knowledgeable and friendly which is the only reason I have continued going there. However, it seems that in the last year or so, anytime I go into this location, it is just about impossible to find any employees to help you out in the rest of the store aside from the pharmacy. Today, I was walking around trying to find an employee for 10 minutes to unlock an item for me-- and I was never able to get help! So I finally just left and went to another store. read more

You do not have a choice in Carpenteria for pharmacy. You have CVS or Savon, both are next to each other. CVS is not open 24 hours, I experienced long lines and slow service. When my RX was called in it took a day to fill it. These were all new medications and the pharmacy did not even come out to talk about them. Staff was somewhat cold and not caring. I need to use a restroom and was told to go next door. This is a place to avoid based on what I went through. Only plus was they do have a good phone call back system to let you know when your script was ready/ Next time I will try Savon next door and hope it is better. read more

I'm giving this pharmacy 4 stars JUST because of the exceptional work ethic displayed by Brian, Vicki, Phoeng, and Brooke, routinely provide the utmost of care and consideration. Brian always makes every effort to complete any orders with professionalism and kindness, and greets everyone with a warm smile. Vicki is similarly kind, compassionate; focused, hard working and knowledgable. Vicki and Brian go above and beyond to ensure that there is adequate stock, take the time to explain insurance coverage and always treat me with respect, compassion, and provide the epitome of customer service. UPDATE/ On a side note, the employees at this location are consistently overworked and given unattainable quotas; in turn, the customers are subject to very long lines, are kept on hold for longer wait times, and then become belligerent and verbally abusive to this hard working team at this location. I have witnessed countless moments in which a customer is waiting in line behind me, and cursing even before they reach the counter. This air of frustration and anger is the opposite of what a climate should entail; many people are in pain, sick, recovering from surgery. These customers deserve to be permitted to enjoy a calm and friendly, and approachable pharmacy. I've been going to this CVS for over a decade, and the turn-over rate is astounding throughout the store. If CVS cannot treat their staff fairly and with the same level of respect which they insist their staff deliver to customers, Everyone is going to experience the detrimental impacts. I would appreciate a reply from the District Manager and welcome the opportunity to discuss these pertinent issues in further detail. Worst night manager ever! He had the worst customer service that I've ever had in a store!

Very poor customer service by cashiers. After seeing that they did not have what I was looking for, I decided to buy a lottery ticket from their automated machine. The older woman whom just closed her register ( turned off light, but was still messing with cash register) refused to give me change for a $5 because she was closed. NOTE: She had just closed her lane, but was still accessing her register. She told me that the man working the next register will give me change. The man working the next register kind of looked like Santa Claus. He had a mostly grey beard and had all his hair slicked back. I went up to him and asked for change for my $5. He said that he doesn't give change unless it's for a purchase. I told him that I'm going to purchase lottery tickets at their store. He told me that lottery tickets don't count. Is giving someone one five $1 bills that difficult? read more

I get the same prescriptions year after year. I have asked many times to have them filled all at the same time, it never happened. Last time, I had to wait for the pharmacist to counsel me. Blah, blah talk to my doctor if you have a concern. Today, a couple of days later (because they could not get it together enough to fill Rx's at the same time, I go in, cannot give them to me because pharmacist needs to counsel me and she is on her lunch break. I went because CVS Pharmacy on State St. had a 3 hrs wait (Live in Carpinteria) My last review was mostly about the personnel in the pharmacy. However, I wasn't fair to the pharmacist, it was her I give 4 stars the personnel in pharmacy I give 1 star. Husband waiting in car had to pick up his meds before going home. The pharmacist understood my situation, she was sympathetic of my situation, (lived to far to drop off and return). Dévorka is the absolute worst pharmacist I've ever dealt with, and there have been many occasions where I have felt uncomfortable dealing with he, but tonight was my inexcusable. I checked the website to ensure they'd be open. I arrived around 8:30 pm. The website site they were open until 9pm. I've been with out my meds for two days due to insurance and dr visit issues, but today my meds were finally filled. I desperately NEED them. The pharmacy said they closed at 8. DEVORKA the pharmacist was still on the click, yet she REFUSED to sell me my prescriptions. She wouldn't transfer my prescriptions to a pharmacy that was still open. She offered ZERO HELP.... And now I'm on day three without my medications. I suffer from mental health issues. I need these medications so I'm not a danger to myself or other people. I've already been three days without them. This woman refused to help me. In ANY WAY. Their website said they were open until 9 pm. I arrived at 8:30 pm while a pharmacist was still there with the authority to help in ANY WAT, but she offered NO SOLUTIONS, NO HELP.... And I just can't believe for one second that she couldn't have done A SINGLE FUCKING THING to help me get the medication I NEED.... So now I have to be FOUR DAYS without the medication that keeps me from harming myself and potentially worse. This is an atrocity. The website specifically said they were open until 9pm. So now I have to white knuckle through yet another night because this woman devoid of any empathy whatsoever refused to help in any way whatsoever. She should be fired. I'll be changing pharmacies. I've been dealing with them for a few yrs but the pharmacy has gotten exceedingly worse and worse. I've called and spoken in person to get my scripts filled for 3 months at a time. My Dr sent the scripts but they kept filling one and calling me 2 days later to pick up another one. BTW I have 14 different pills. I explained I don't have a car and have to constantly bum rides. I'm handicapped so I can't drive. After 2 months of pushing they finally did it but, only with 4 of them so here we go again with the constant calls !! When my pills were gone they went back to one at a time calls for ALL my pills. You'd think after more than 10 conversations they'd get it but no. What if I was elderly and couldn't remember what I need ?? I'm done with these unprofessional ppl with their constant bungling. I've used CVS Pharmacy for 2 years and I can honestly report that it has gone from bad to HORRENDOUS. A new Dr. sent a new prescription into the pharmacy for me, and it is the legal duty of a CA Pharmacist, to check a new medication to see if it will interefere with existing medications, or have any harmful effects. Either way, with a new prescription, the Pharmacist by law must have a consultation with the patient. Bottom line, Pharmacist did neither and 4 months later when I was bedridden, I called the Pharmacist and asked if the new medication could be harming me in any way. ANSWER !!!!!!!!!!!! "Oh, you should be getting your kidneys monitored frequently !!!!!!!!!!! Long story short, I now have Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease from this error. Lastly, the Pharmacy is an absolute madhouse, with a text messaging service that blows up your phone & sends erroneous messages. When I called Pharmacist (after a 12 min phone wait), I asked a question about the constant erroneous text messages & the Pharmacist went off on me & hung up on me. In my entire life, I have never had any experiences at any pharmacy like this. Save yourself abuse treatment, and HORRENDOUS Service. read more

I am ill; I have a major sinus infection (bacterial) - which is clear to anyone who interacts with me.. My doctor called me to check in on me on Sunday. He told me he thought I should switch medications right away. And he told me to have the pharmacy page him and he would authorize a new prescription over the phone as he was going out to a funeral and had no access to a fax machine on Sunday. So, I went to my local CVS in Carpinteria, to ask them to do just that - fill a prescription that I really needed. I had the following conversation with the female, 30's, brown haired white lab coated, pharmacist: Pharm: Are you dropping off? Me: I'm sick. My doctor called to check on me and thinks I need a new prescription today. I have his number right here. Pharm: I don't call doctors on weekends. Me: He specifically asked me to have you page him through his service. He is going to a funeral. Pharm: I don't do that. You can have him call here. Me: I can't page him, and tell him to call you when he has requested a call from you. That's another step or two. Pharm: I don't call doctors except during office hours. Me: I'm sick. Pharm: Have him call us. Next. Me: I can't believe that you won't help me. I left and drove 15 miles to a Walgreens where they helped me immediately and did call the doctor, no problem. Needless to say, I will never use this pharmacy again. One would think that a pharmacist would attempt to help an obviously sick person, in respiratory distress, EVEN ON A WEEKEND. Is there something I am unaware of where medical treatment on weekends has extra hoops that one must go through? Is this how CVS treats people who need help? Is there no basic requirement for a standard of care for people in medicine - including pharmacists? Even the person standing behind me, gave me a look like she couldn't believe the conversation she just witnessed. I will offer the observation that if we ignore bad treatment of ourselves (or others) and don't complain, or don't go elsewhere, then we will continue to be treated like this, by people who don't care about our well being, or what is right. I am 13 years old my brother and I were planning to do some face masks and all I needed was an extra dollar and it was 9:59pm I understand they close at 10 so I asked if I could have an extra minute so my brother could bring me the dollar from the truck and it wasn't even 10:01 when he asked me to leave. Ive had many negative experiences at this CVS but I'm not one to leave a bad review. Today however, I felt really compelled after my last experience. I truly want to SHOUT OUT Eric, who appeared to be the only employee there besides the pharmacist. He was running 3 registers and helping the low functioning self-check out machine simultaneously. He was overwhelmed but was so positive. He was bilingual and helping people in different languages at the same time. Truly kicking butt! When I apologized for his hectic work day, he had nothing negative to say(although it was obvious he got screwed over by management). He was completely unsupported, which I've noticed is a common theme at this CVS. Unfortunately it's the only CVS in town so sometimes I have to go. I am always customer of CVS pharmacy. My husband and I were visiting Carpinteria city in CA. My husband and I went to CVS Pharmacy in Carpinteria downtown city. The store was huge. We were looking for sunscreen cream. Nobody were there to help us. We asked the cashier to help us. Finally we got sunscreen cream. When I wanted to pay it, the price popes up 18.99 instead of 12.99 which they had price sing on the top of the cream. I said you should check your price, they did. I was right. I said that is fine, I wanted to use the CVS App coupon that I had it. the lady said, I cannot use it. I was so upset. We return it. The other person after found the price should be12:99, he charge us the same price and used coupon too. Actually he made mistake about total price. I always get my prescriptions filled here but was recently referred by my doctor to get a tetanus shot here. I called to confirmed they did tetanus shots and they said they do. Went to get one in the evening and they told me they were too busy and to come back, so I did. Again they told me they were too busy and to try first thing in the morning. So I did. Then the lady told me they don't do tetanus shots!!! Couldn't they have told me that when I called or one of the other 2 times I went??? Stop being lazy and just give me the shot! read more

The photo dept is really lacking. Computers down for printing 3 weeks. Delays, stalls, no receipts, out of paper, etc. it's always something. Always short staffed. Signs aren't put on if needing repair, so wasted time picking pictures. Not efficient at all. Frustrating when you are on a time limit. His ability to engage with the costumers, demonstrate leadership qualities, and have sincere love for his job blows me away! I remember Alex's first couple days on the job when he introduced himself, asked if I found everything okay but most important asked how I was! My experience here has been quite unpleasant. Today I was shopping for some shampoo, and I was surprised that no one was at the cash register when I was going to pay. About 2 minutes later, I found out that the two employees were trying to settle a discount matter with a lady. At this point, there were about ten people in line waiting anxiously. Instead of letting one employee dealing with the matter and the other opening another line for the customers, they chose to let us wait like no big deal and proceed slowly. I know that it's not the two employee's fault that the customer wanted the discount, but please at least learn how to do business more efficiently and satisfy us customers. Due to the delay, I ended up not buying anything because I had to catch a bus, not to mention that my knee problem got worse when I had to run back for the bus. read more
