This CVS is like every other CVS you have ever been to. BUT THE PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW, CVS does not take all BCBSTX anymore. Found this out the hard way. Went to get my antibiotics from CVS (already called in by my Doctor) and they let me know that since January 2017 there is about 10% BCBSTX plans they do not expect. They were able to transfer my prescription to Walgreens no problem but I had to wait an hour for it to be filled. :/ I gave four stars because it is not this particular CVS or it's staff's fault that they don't except my insurance. Do not order prints online from this store. I ordered one 11" x 18" poster, a day later I dropped in to pick it up, but it wasn't ready. The guy behind the counter had no idea how long it would take and wasn't even sure if their machine could print a poster board. He said "maybe check it Walgreens down the road". I took his advice, ordered the exact same size from Walgreens and got a text 20 min later that the photo was ready for pick up. read more

I went to this CVS just to get some cold medicine that they only sell behind the counter. I got there at 1:29 PM when I walked up to the window the woman started putting down the gate saying that they closed between 1:30 and 2:00 PM for lunch. Which normally is fine except there wasn't 1:30 yet and you could have taken the two minutes to sell me what I needed. And this is among the many reasons why I avoid CVS now and probably why so many CVS stores are now closing. Not only is it bad customer service, but they used to give really good coupons out and you could stack them. Which means you could use multiple coupons for one item. They stopped doing that a while back and their prices are pretty high. Just another reason why DS should be avoided at all costs! read more

If I could put zero stars I would. I was queued in the line to the pharmacy at 7:50 PM. There were two customers ahead of me with one of them, taking quite long to get their prescription. I proceeded to the booth only for them to shut the curtain in my face as soon as it turned 8 PM. You would think the last person in line they could keep their door open for a few minutes to help a customer get a needed medication (Especially considering that I was in line and waited as they helped another customer for 7 minutes). They gave the person in front of me their prescription and closed the window in my face and then pretended I wasn't there. Im a healthcare worker and just got off shift, please don't go into healthcare if you are this selfish to where you can't help the last customer in line at 8pm, I drove so far after my 12 hour shift for my prescription. Disgraceful but would expect nothing less. Do better. read more

The store felt crowded and employees seemed sparse. Prices are higher than their competitors. Checking out I was directed to self check out. There are two stations and they are very close to each other. Someone was there unmasked and it made me uncomfortable. So, even though the employee could check me out, I waited until the customer left, so I could check myself out. read more

Today I went to pick up my prescription (Sunday, September 15th) and I know that they close for lunch at 1:30. So I rushed to get there and got in the outside window line at 1:26. There was lady in front of me and I was the second car in line directly in back of her. It took until 1:30 exactly to finish and I pulled forward. I was promptly ignored and they put the shutters down and did not get me, even though they knew damn well I was in line and waiting. They were all in there putting around and then left out the back door. I rang the button at 1:31 and they ignored me. This is horrific customer service and I have promptly switched all of my prescriptions to HEB. CVS just lost a longtime customer. I used to buy other things there, so they also lost that business too. I have noticed that the pharmacists at this location hate their jobs. Well, it shows. Adios mudda fuddas. read more

It routinely takes three -five attempts to pick up any prescription called in here. On my last attempt, at 2:45 p, we sat in line at the pickup window until 3:51. We were the fourth car in line when we pulled up. They close for lunch. The time changes periodically. Hopefully you guess the time right! It's currently 1:30-2, but expect the window to be out commission anytime in the 1-2:30p range is fair game. The last two employees insisted on keeping the window closed while saying they couldn't hear us, then getting our info wrong five or six times and arguing that there was nothing for that name. Other locations have nicer folks, but all of the CVS sites in Austin seem to have become extremely slow in the last year. We are moving to HEB wherever we can- their pharmacy pick up line is fast. read more

self check out machines only make these employees lazier. It's just really ridiculous. There was an older gentlemen had to be in his 80's waiting to check out when I walked in. 15 mins later.. I was done w my shopping, used self check out and this poor man is still waiting patiently for an associate to check him out at the counter. I walk around the store to find the cashier, bc thats soo wrong and the old man could barely stand. I found the clerk in the back talking to a pharmacy staff. having a great time, conversing and laughing, all while resting him body against one of the stalls, no care in the world. I told him about the poor man waiting for him and he replied with some smart ass comment. About how he's the only one there and that he IS management, idk, whatever, idc. I've been using this pharmacy for Rx medications for 3+ years and over the past year, service has been declining drastically, including them not having my medication at my usual monthly refill time (they should be scheduling this since I'm a regular customer with the same monthly medications). When they don't have my needed medication they frequently can't tell me when they will have it in stock for me, and I'm not referring to medications that are on national shortages, I'm talking about readily available prescriptions. Also, having to wait extended periods of time in line at the pharmacy due to slow handling of customers, has been very frustrating. All pharmacies lines are slow moving but this is far beyond the average situation. They appear to be very short staffed and all of their staff is multitasking at all times (on phone and with physical customer at the same time for example). Another problem that I had at this pharmacy is when my doctor would send in 3 prescriptions for a controlled substance, all at once, and they were written for one month at a time (due to controlled substance laws). When I would try to fill these prescriptions EVERY SINGLE MONTH they would tell me that my doctor never sent it in and that I needed to contact the doctor. EVERY TIME they were proven wrong by my doctor's office, and just didn't look hard enough OR their system is not able to handle such requests. The fact that they made me call my doctor every month because they couldn't find a prescription that they had, I'm sure was very costly to my doctor's office, and they should be embarrassed by this. When they would ask me to call my doctor for the prescription that was already on file, I'd call my doctor and the office would tell me to call CVS back to tell them what date the prescription was sent to them to help them find it. So I'd call CVS back with this info and 80% of the time they still weren't able to locate it. Then I'd have to call the doctor back and the doctor's staff would conference call CVS and me to get things straightened out. Every single time it was evident that the prescription had been at CVS all along, and was never my doctor's error, like they always told me. How is this good business? It's one thing to waste customer time but its another to waste doctor's staff time. And to imply monthly, that a doctor is incompetent to a patient, is horrible. I'm sure this sort of thing is part of what keeps driving our medical bills and insurance costs up, to help doctors cover the cost used to pay their staff for poor pharmacy operations. NEW PHARMACY/NOT CVS Experience: I've changed pharmacies over the past 4 months and couldn't be happier and things have been perfect at my new pharmacy. New pharmacy has never been out of any of my meds (even ones that are on national shortage), and they have never had any trouble locating any prescription that my doctor has sent in. The waits in line are not very long, the staff handles customers quickly. They also seem to have plenty staff and no one is multitasking, only dealing with the customer in front of them when with a customer. I won't be going back to this CVS for prescriptions ever again. I feel bad that I caused my doctor's office so much trouble by not changing pharmacies sooner. Lesson learned. read more

Very snotty clerk. I went in to buy Temptations treats for my cats. The one guy I found on the floor could barely be bothered to answer my question about what aisle the pet food was on. When it came time to check out, there was no one at the registers, just self-check-out. The machine wouldn't check out my items, so I had to follow a register sign that said "See Aisle 7." Where I found the surly guy. When I told him I'd like to check out, he asked, "So, are you scared of robots?" Indicating I was incapable of self-check-out, when in fact the self-check-out just wasn't working properly. Very annoying. I shouldn't get creepy judgment from clerks when I go into a store and try to buy something. And, yeah, there should be actual clerks at the register. There's another drugstore (different company) just up the street---where the people are nicer and have no attitude. I'll be going there in the future. read more

Incompetent staff and system. They always tell me that I do not have any of my prescriptions there although when I go to a different CVS, they tell me they are clearly at w anderson and then are kind enough to transfer them for me. Then a week later, I get a notification from CVS w anderson telling me to collect my prescriptions - if you are reliant on prescriptions, get them sent elsewhere! I have no problem collecting my prescriptions from any other cvs. The staff here is also rude and has an attitude and clearly is not interested in helping or questioning their system and communication. I also made the mistake to schedule a COVID test at this branch and when I arrived was told the tester didn't bother coming in. The person at the window then proceeded to tell me it's not their problem. I eventually got my test at this branch and when I received the test results, they misspelled my name in the system although I spelled it the correct way and it was spelled correctly on the covid bag. It caused a problem with my flight and they couldn't correct it after 2 hours on the phone - not sure if it was done deliberately or not but this is a huge mistake and shouldn't happen when you deal with sensitive information read more

Did you know that CVS stands for 'Consumer Value Store' ? I didn't either until I just googled it. There are 4 instances when I go to CVS: 1 - When I'm on a long road trip and there's literally nothing else around to get food or drink from 2 - The day after Easter to buy up all the half priced Whopper Robin's Eggs 3 - When I need a last minute card for something. 4 - When I need to buy Halloween Candy. Today's reason was 4. And they had the Halloween Candy and I bought it. The end. CVS Pharmacies are CVS Pharmacies. Are they worth anything more than 3 stars? I mean... come on... I wish I had read the reviews of this location before choosing to get my covid test here. I followed all the directions that they provided and got excited when I saw in the app that I had a new result today. The result said "test not performed." I ended up on the phone for over an hour getting bounced around between minute clinic and their lab Quest Diagnostics who then told me to call the location to tell them to call Quest to "fix the label" on my specimen whatever that means. Then I called the location and the pharmacist was incredibly rude and told me to call Quest back and that I need to schedule an appointment through them. Why on earth would I schedule ANOTHER appointment through them when I wanted the convenience of going to CVS in the first place and PAID CVS for this test...Also, I"m sorry but I dont want to go on hold with Quest for another hour just to have them tell me to call CVS again. This is a typical issue with big corporations. I'm taking my business elsewhere. I realize this review won't do anything other than hopefully caution anyone in the future from getting covid tests at this CVS location. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I basically attribute my recent visit at the pharmacy with assault, as I did not even know which vaccine was being administered. I lost my COVID vaccine card so when I scheduled my booster here at this location I called to confirm I would be reissued a card for my work. When I went to check in at the pharmacy counter I informed the young woman in a hoodie with no name tag, that I had misplaced my card and needed a new one. She said that I could talk to a pharmacist but they do not reissue cards there. She never confirmed my date of birth, address, or identification. After waiting for thirty minutes the pharmacist called me by name and I went over to the rented area. I again began to explain that I had misplaced my card and needed a new one. She did not verify my identification or date or birth as she was preoccupied with my question. She wiped my arm with alcohol and started to administer the vaccine which she grabbed from a table of multiple drawn up syringes, without verifying the vaccine that I was being given she put the needle in my arm until I said "wait, what vaccine is this?" She replied o Pfizer, which thankfully out of the array of random vaccines on the table is the one I was there for. She said that she would talk to me about reissuing the card after she finished her vaccinations. She proceeded to tell me that I would not receive a vaccination card and that I also would not have a full report because CVS did not have proof of my first vaccine (all three at this point were given by CVS). I was very upset, more so that they never verified my identity or what vaccine was being plunged into my muscle. The whole experience was terrifying. read more

My family and I are long time CVS shoppers and go regularly. We used to love this location, but it has declined greatly. The store is disorganized and looks unclean. The staff are not helpful. This is my neighborhood pharmacy and I love it! The staff at the front counter are always friendly and the pharmacy staff actually remember who you are without telling them. They are also very patient with my elderly neighbor who honks at people while she is cruising the aisles on her Scooter Store scooter. I know it is a chain, but this CVS always seems to have the most random things on sale. Like boxes of condoms for 90 cents. Yeah, I bought some - the drugstore's version of living on the wild side, right up there with taking expired prescriptions. They also have a selection of non-face puckering wines and beer. I had been getting prescriptions filled at the Randall's near me till an illness while on a trip back to NY a year or so ago made me wish my drug records were accessible remotely. Enter CVS, a big Melville NY-based chain that has a pretty great computer system, good prices on drugs and frequent shopper coupons and such that save some extra cash. They also have free shipping of prescriptions by mail, something that saves a trip to the pharmacy, especially if you set them up to auto-refill. Today I stopped by to pick up a very expensive prescription ($249.66/month, with no generic available), one that my doc had given me a 2-week supply of as a free sample. It's only a trial, but dammit over the past 2 weeks it seems to have been working, so I braced myself for the maximum "no generic available" co-pay my insurance could muster. Instead, the pleasant pharmacist at the drive-through said "we had several coupons for this product here, and after I applied them to your prescription your co-pay is $0." Wow. Thanks very much pharmacist lady, and thanks CVS, who has clinched my business a bit more. read more

Once again the saga of the Thanksgiving illness continues. I went to this pharmacy with my newly garnered prescription at 9 pm the night before thanksgiving. The staff ( especially one older lady with a wealth of knowledge) was there, and helped me feel safe with taking what I was going to be taking, and got me in and out in about 15 minutes. I appreciated her actually taking the time to talk to me, even though it was late and I'm sure she wanted to close and go home.I highly recommend this drug store. Oh...and as I was leaving, I saw they were selling 5.99 bottles of yellow tail. Guess there are a few things to be thankful for on thanksgiving! read more

Pharmacy is reliable and organized. The drive through is a huge help when you are not feeling well (anyone else get that flu going around?). The pharmacy staff is thoughtful and will take the time to consult with you on questions or concerns, and will even help identify over the counter remedies that are compatible with the medication. (As needed , of course) Couple of examples of what I like: - Offer flavoring for liquid medication. They are good about offering which flavors do the best job masking the medicine taste, and even times "not to bother" with the flavoring because: nothing can really help or it doesn't taste that bad. - Dosage syringes - huge piece of mind when you know you are dispensing exactly the correct dose. - Called to offer alternatives when insurance did not want to cover a specific medication. I have to admit, I was pretty cynical about chain pharmacies... but this one has really changed my mind. read more

Staff are friendly however they keep signing my mother up for automatic refills even though we have declined every time they ask. This causes issues whenever there is a dosage change, causes the pick up dates for the ones that have to be called in to get out of sync, and generates multiple annoying reminder calls and texts. Gladly we moved and go to a different CVS now where we don't have this problem. They actually just tried auto-refilling them *again* even though we have been picking them up at the new store for two months, which is what prompted me to write this review. read more

This store always looks like they are moving, many shelves empty with unopened boxes clogging many of the aisles. But this review is to comment how horrible the pharmacy is. I waited in the drive-through for about 15 minutes while the staff member figured out how to give a COVID test though the window tray. It might've been alright if she had taken the 5 seconds to just say I'll be with you in a minute. Instead she just pretended that I wasn't there. I gave up and went inside. Turns out she was quite busy because she he was the only one working the counter. There were 3 other staff too busy counting pills to give her a hand. This is just lazy. At this point there were 6 or 7 cars in the drive-through that I'd just left and 5 customers in line inside. I complained to one of the lazy pill counters and and the girl said the counter girl was doing her best. She sneered at me when I asked her if she could help the counter girl. All in all it took 2 trips and 35 minutes to get the prescription. Worst customer service I've encountered in a long time. Never going back there again. read more

The parking lot here is hell. I curse the developer and the city official for allowing such a travesty to happen in a large lot. Of course it's not CVS's fault, but none the less, it's hell. Now, with that off my chest I can continue with my review. I had been a loyal customer of CVS since the mid-80s, that is until I moved to Florida in 2003 and they were nowhere to be found. So I switched pharmacies and continued on with my life. We moved to Austin over 3 years ago and I kept my prescriptions (Rx) at CVS competitor because I'm a creature of habit, that all. Anyways, the said competitor (who has a better app) stopped supplying my medicine that I have to take daily. Instead of being a professional pharmacy and giving me ample time to find an alternative, they decided to inform me when I ordered my Rx and my phone/email notices were generic and said the order should be filled shortly. I can't miss a day of taking this particular medicine, without being hospitalized. The pharmacist or tech should know this bit of info. At best, the person on the phone who I talked to when they took my first of many phone calls should have informed me that I needed to find a new pharmacy. But noooooooooo, the greedy bastards continued to keep me hanging and it wasn't until I asked, "why are you dragging your ass on my Rx?" Long story short I had to switch pharmacies and fast. I called around to several and none had my particular drug in stock. I wasn't shocked since this is not a typical medicine you would keep in stock. Low and behold I called CVS and explained my problem with the tech on the phone, who then immediately forwards me to the pharmacist. That small gesture alone started to ease my fear since I had been getting the run around for the last week with the competitor. The pharmacist informed me they didn't have any in stock but noticed one of the stores did and that they would get my Rx filled as soon as my doctor's office called in the Rx. Okay; many things need to happen since all parties were on a short timeframe. I contacted my doctor's office who already knew I was in hot pursuit of finding another pharmacy. They took swift action and called my Rx in and CVS was able to fill my order within 2 hours! Why did it take 2 hours, because they had someone from the store physically go pick up my Rx. Mind you, when I first heard the Rx was at another store that was 20 miles away, I told them I would be happy to go pick it up. So what I learned was CVS went over and above to earn my business all because they knew if I missed my medication it would be disastrous....exhales. Thank you CVS for stocking my Rx so that I can continue life as I know it, healthy and worried free. Thank you CVS for contacting my doctor to remind them to reauthorize my Rx. Thank you CVS for caring! Thank you CVS! p.s. I don't care the parking lot is hell; I'd rather be in hell with a filled Rx then in a hospital. I feel strange reviewing a national chain pharmacy, but this is really an especially well-run retail store. I mean, the product is as expected and the store's clean, all the basics are there, but the employees are exceptionally friendly. I've observed the manager interacting with them and I suspect (and hope) that he's treating them respectfully and decently-- it shows in the smiles you get. Minor negative-- it's exhausting getting asked for my CVS card, especially when a discount doesn't come up. That said, it's a whole three seconds out of my life, I can probably roll with it. Odd negative-- I've been in to the front retail store dozens of times, but only just recently interacted with the pharmacy. All the employees were friendly, but their supervisor-- a young, long haired, vaguely foreign man-- was really rude and impatient with his employees. He was very, very odd-- twitchy and frantic-- not sure what was going on there, and he was certainly friendly enough to me, but that's not the image one would want to put forward when dealing with pharmaceuticals and public safety. Those two negatives aside, go with these guys over the sad sacks at the Walgreens across Anderson. read more

I find that as CVS stores go, this is the best in the area. The staff are always professional and friendly at this location, and they are usually well stocked. I kind of wish that there was a way to give a thumbs down to ratings here. The comment below by Wes O about there being too many handicapped spaces in front of the store makes me so angry. My mom has multiple sclerosis and scoliosis, and having good handicapped spaces that are available help make her difficult life more bearable. I mean, what kind of loser complains about handicapped spots? If you need them, then you don't mind them, and if you don't need them, then what makes you think you are so damned special that you can't walk a few steps more? Just less time at the gym. I wonder if his comment violates the terms of service for using this site because I am almost inclined to report it, but I don't know if it actually breaches their TOS.
