The pharmacy constantly changes my 90 prescription to either 60 or 30 which messes up my refill and defeats the purpose of the 90 day scrip. They don't tell you they made the change so unless you look at your paperwork or count the number of pills in your bottle, you won't realize it happened until you try to get the rest of your meds. It's messes up the insurance, causes more visits to the doctor, etc. Madness. read more

Awful customer service. They lied to me and said that the bathrooms were out of service because it's close to closing time. I needed to pick up one item, but I don't wanna buy something from a location that is so rude about being able to use the bathroom. You shouldn't even have to ask them for a code. I frequent this, my local Walgreens. On a scale of das to das, this place is just das. It's nothing too special, but the location is convenient for me, and the pharmacy is not usually busy. It also has a drive-thru. See below for a couple of other things to note. 1. The Nice brand makes knock-off girl scout cookies. They sell them year-round :) 2. There are usually vagrants hanging around this location. 3. There is a Redbox here. 4. It's located near some cool, authentic Korean stops (a grocery store, a bakery, a karaoke spot, and a restaurant). read more

I worked with Patricia to get our medications for my 2 year old. She refused to give the package of his meds to me since she needed to see an ID with matching name. He's TWO- clearly he doesnt have an ID. Not to mention these are life saving medications that he needed. Spoke with her manager Enrique and he agreed to give the medications as it was not their policy and he seemed unsure as to why she was acting that way. Patricia wouldn't budge- fed ex also said this is not their policy. To put a mother through this that just spent 10 months in the hospital with her son... she doesn't need to work here. I tried to call Patricia after our pharmacy spoke with her (I hadnt even had a chance to talk with her yet, and I told her who I was calling about and she hung up on me) Very unprofessional and doesnt need to be working a customer service job. Formal complaints to corporate have been made by both the pharmacy where the meds came from and from myself. I spoke with the doctors at the hospital and they knew exactly who this woman was and said other parents have had issues with her as well. Super sad and I hope she never has to be on the other side of the counter as a mother trying to get her baby medication that he needs to survive. read more

Walgreens recently put in a system where prescriptions are filled offsite, which adds a couple of days to the order. This doesn't stop them for offering drugs that are $5 from CostPlus for $60, it just makes them take as long as ordering online. Additionally, if insurance needs a prior approval, Walgreens doesn't bother to tell you. This resulted in me not having insulin. I suppose that I could use the great coupons they offer to reduce the price of a $40 insulin fill from their normal $550 down to something like $250 and pay for it myself. Thanks SO much. If you haven't noticed that we are all living in a 3rd world country, just do some business with Walgreens. In fairness, they might be better than seeking medication in war torn areas in Sudan. This store in particular is old and dirty. The manager often hangs around peering over the cashiers to give the impression that he is somehow magically "managing". Come on, man. Pick up a mop and at least try. read more

I feel like it's just instilled in your pharmacists to be completely rude to any and everyone. The amount of times I get rushed while talking and then hung up on is just stellar customer service. Don't like the job? Give it to someone that knows what customer service is. I literally just want to know when my medications will be ready. No need to huff and puff and hang up on me when I wasn't even finished speaking. read more

Worst customer service ever!!! I made an appointment to get vaccine and when I got there they said they will let people make appointment but they actually can't do it! And then they sent me to another location, the second location said they won't do it either, so I waste more than an hour for nothing ! KRYSTAL - Wow! Where to begin? Rude, sullen, actively Unhelpful! She had three problems trying to ring up ONE item. She kept blaming it on the sign, on "the numbers" (upc, phone, who knows?), told me "and why couldn't you do that yourself?" when I brought up a number of identical items all from the same bin with one sign that were ringing up at different prices and asked her to find me two of the cheaper ones. Umm, because I don't have the Scanner?! Wow, just rude. I would have actually stopped and talked to a manager she was so rude but I couldn't put up with her foul attitude anymore and this way I can share with Everyone! Lol read more

The staff at this pharmacy are so disappointingly rude and just do not care about caring for patients. My doc told me to call in for an emergency supply of a medication that I cannot go off of and the pharm tech so rude and inconsiderate as I tried to explain my situation. This is the closest pharmacy to my house, but I'll be going elsewhere because it's like pulling teeth trying to get my meds filled here unfortunately. read more

I have been looking for a certain Johnson's creamy baby oil and happened to be eating at the Poke place next to this Walgreens so I decided to pop in on the off chance they might have it. I figured they they probably didn't because I think the product has been discontinued but I figured it never hurts to try. I only encountered one employee but she was extremely helpful. The store didn't have the product I was looking for but I was looking through the makeup and found a real pretty lavender lipstick so I bought it. It was even on sale. The store had a nice feel to it, bright, clean, organized. read more

The service we received from the store manager was extremely disappointing. After checking out my wife and I noticed that we did not get the advertised deal of 2 for 5$ on the sliced cheese packs. We first asked a clerk who could not help us because he was new. He was, however, a professional, which is not what I can say about the manager. The manager comes, checks our claim which checked out, provides us with her opinion that it must include tax (which was wrong because all other item prices did not include tax) and then returns the 98 cents that they owe us. The problem was (aside from her ridiculous assertion regarding tax) her attitude. She was rude and treated us as if we were making a fuss out of nothing. Yes, it was 98 cents but it wasn't about that and we Yelpers would all know it - I don't like being lied to. And I definitely don't like being treated like I'm asking for too much when I'm demanding what is rightfully mine! read more

It's a Walgreens, so it's A-OK. This one is not 24 hours. They do have beer and wine. The employees I've met have all been nice, though they seem a bit tired (I'm usually there near closing). The upselling at the register is irritating, but not their fault. They have the most amazingly cheap cigarettes, though, and I will make a detour to buy them here. No, I'm not going to tell you how cheap, because I don't want to jinx it. Just trust me. I spent a little while wondering why, of all places, a pharmacy would sell cigarettes so cheap. Then it occurred to me that that means they can sell more cough medicine and throat lozenges. read more

It's astounding how much merchandise they can cram into a Walgreens nowadays. Film and paper and hairspray and toasters and marshmallow burgers and oxyclean and cat litter and potting soil and flashlights and always the Seasonal aisle. I used to come here what seemed like 5 times a day to pick up something or wander the aisles. I enjoyed talking to the surly counterpeople, two in particular, that I can't name because they might get fired for being so surly. Those guys are a hoot! Nice folks here in general. -1 star because they're open 365 days a year which disturbs me. I should also take off a star for how Walgreens wants to take over the world in their attempt to pwn CVS but then again, they do have a nice selection of damn near everything in there so it's a draw. read more

The Redbox outside is my favorite however, the movies I want are always out....grrr! They have a good selection of refrigerated food items so, that I don't have to venture to HEB every time I need something. Great wine and beer selection and they sell the to go Quaker Oats Oatmeal cups that I can't find anywhere else. Of course you pay a little more for items here but, some days it's worth it. The lines are always moving fast and they are always open to letting me buy a roll of quarters from them to do my laundry. The staff members remember there customers or maybe I am just there too much however, it's nice to have a friendly face asking you how you are and what's new. I haven't used the pharmacy or the photo department so, I can't comment on that. They have good sales on VOSS water often, 4 for $5 and other items that I like to buy! Plus, I enjoy their loyalty points card because you can cash them in for money off your bill! read more

Prices are a little higher than going to HEB but the convenience worth it. Best kept secret is that I can send them my digital photos and get prints. I know prints? Yes, prints are extra special now that most people don't get them. I also get my yearly flu shot here and get some basic medications. It's a convenient Walgreens on Lamar just south of Airport Blvd. It is on a corner so there is a traffic light to make it easier to get back on Lamar northbound. That area gets very congested at the normal traffic times, so that's a plus. I like their gift card section and it has bailed me out on a few occasions when I need a card in a hurry. The candy section is also good, I always get some cherry sours and gummy bear. If you have the Walgreens app, they put some good discounts on there on occasion. I haven't used the pharmacy or photo services (there are still cameras and film? ;). I haven't had a bad experience with the staff, nor an exceptionally great one, just a normal customer experience. I had a terrible experience with the pharmacy at this Walgreens location. Despite becoming eligible for a COVID booster dose due to new CDC guidelines, this Walgreens pharmacy would not give me the dose because its "system" had not been updated to account for the change in guidelines. The pharmacist (Melissa Chuang) agreed that I was eligible but still would not administer the vaccine. That is shameful and a detriment to public health. Worse, they had me wait in the crowded store for 30 minutes before ultimately declining to provide the vaccine. During my time in the store, I also met another customer who was waiting for his vaccine dose the entire time, so evidently 30+ minute waits are the norm there. The pharmacy team (evidently managed by Melissa) was quite rude, and judging by the other reviews here on Yelp, this negative impression is shared by many customers. I will take my business elsewhere and recommend that anyone else do the same. read more

I love the employees, the vibe, the prices, the location, the variety and choice of items, the hours, the pharmacists, and I only wish they had a soda fountain to sit and drink a root beer float! Photo center: I "inconvenienced" the shift lead by asking a few questions about what film rolls they had in stock, after he replied with a few snide remarks and groaned I still thanked him and he ignored me. I feel bad for the employees that have to work under a manager with such a sh*t attitude. Willing to drive farther to other Walgreens locations now. This is great if you're sitting in your apartment alone on a Friday night and craving some sugar and you are too lazy to drive to HEB but just alive enough for a four minute walk. It is like any and every Walgreens you've ever been to in your entire life. The prices are adequate-- actually, their prices on Blue Bell tend to be cheaper than HEB. The employees, a Carrie C. mentioned, can sometimes be surly-- I like those two guys, they're funny. One of the other ones may be mildly autistic, I'm not sure. Here's a beef, though-- the manager makes them upsell their featured products at the register, which means that even if I go there every single day to buy a soda or a candy bar they have to close out asking me if, for example, I'd like to buy some Diet Snapple mix-in packs. Or batteries. Or remaindered Reese's Cups. Okay, I did take them up on the Reese's Cups... but I'm just saying, it's embarrassing for them. read more

I honestly have no idea how these places stay in business anymore. Obviously, I'm not their target audience. It could be that a while back my insurer only worked with non traditional pharmacies and since, I've just used HEB. The markup on things here are crazy expensive. I've only came in a few times out of convenience but every time I do, I feel like I've been had. Sure they offer lots of services but most of those services don't really cater to my needs. I have had problems with the staff at this pharmacy. Today I called to find about getting a tetnus booster, and I ended the call saying "thank you" to which she sort of grunted at me and hung up. I was thinking WTF? Also very abrubt with the call. I know they are probably rushed, but that was not the kind of response that inclines me to come in. I also had another pharmacy staff lady who was really rude to me when my doctor sent them them wrong prescription. That got cleared up by contacting the Better Business Bureau, and the head of the pharmacy was actually quite helpful, but they just don't hire the best staff there. I'm going to go try the one on Burnet because I like Walgreens. It's a shame that the one closest to me is so lousy. The lady Carol at the front cashier is very pleasant. I hate how she asks me to buy candy every time I go in, but she is pleasant. My main beef is with some of the pharmacy staff, and not all of them. But I can get more consistently good service elsewhere. That's all I am saying. read more

Sluggish, understaffed pharmacy. They consistently miss prescription call-ins. Last time they gave me the wrong prescription and I was dumb enough to walk out the store with it, then they refused to refund me the money because "prescriptions can't be returned after they have left the store." Two weeks after submitting the passport application, I received a letter stating that the photo was unacceptable. The image was oversized. I went back to this Walgreens, and they gave me a free do-over. Still, it caused a further delay in getting my passport.
