Gracious in helping an out-of-towner (from Indiana) obtain refills of medications I forgot several times as I was making quick trips to Austin for a serious family medical emergency. They also guided me to an urgent care clinic which had been open only 2 days just a few stores down. I had envisaged having to roam Austin for this using my iPhone mapping program as a desperate guide. I also purchased other things. Hi ordered a package from this CVS location today and paid $5.99 for the delivery. I received a text message that my package had arrived. I brought in my package, and it wasn't what I ordered. I called the store and was told to bring the package back to the store. I don't have a car which is why I paid for delivery in the first place. I said this was unacceptable and to speak to the store manager. The unhelpful person on the phone replied that he was the store manager. "I can't do anything about that", he said. I will be calling corporate to report this store and request a refund from corporate. read more

I have had good experiences here with their vaccination department. I'm adding an extra star for that. But that's the best I can say about this pharmacy, and my experience today was REALLY frustrating. On the app it showed a product I use and like on sale for $3.90 (see screenshot). In the app, it also shows you can get an ADDITIONAL 40% off with a coupon. The product is not available online and in the "how to get it" section of the app, it shows you have to go to the store and get it. So I go to this CVS and find three on the shelf and go to the register with them. They ring up for $7.79 each, and the 40% coupon isn't applying. Honestly, I would have been happy with the price shown on the app without the additional 40% off, even though the app specifically says you get an additional 40% off. But I raise the issue to the manager and show him the price in the app, and he shrugs his shoulders and says he has to go by the price it rings up. That, my friends, is false advertising and a very clear violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. I have been an ExtraCare member for years, and unfortunately, this type of deceptive marketing happens with CVS all the time. CONGRATS CVS ON FAR WEST! We all thought it was impossible but you've actually hit a new low! This is absolutely the WORST pharmacy I have ever been too. Incompetent in every way and the staff is ultra comfy showing just how rude they can be. Don't bother offering constructive criticism or voicing your dissatisfaction; negative feedback will result in cancellation of your prescription and refusal of service. Oh, and the charges that were assessed to your account; those will not be refunded by the store, and you will have to go through your bank to get a refund processed. Did a quick drop in as I wanted to pick up some dental floss as we were going to be going to Slab's and eat BBQ. Place was OK, but I much prefer Walgreen's in general. Some prices were lower than at Walgreen's by a bit so it would if needed. Clerk was nice. Place was pretty clean, but could have used a bit of pick ups from sloppy customers who didn't put things back. A-OK experience. Sadly, there was a wreck on MOPAC and we could not go get the BBQ. I will not shop at the CVS Pharmacy on Far West again. A few days ago I went to check out but no one was there. I called several times and the manager finally came out of his booth and scanned my items on the self service machine. It was if I had intruded rather than being a welcome customer. Pretty decent place to grab some essentials while traveling. CVS is my usual go to for everything from tooth brushes and toilet paper, to hardware cold medication or allergy meds for friends. They usually run some interesting deals on drinks / water so it's good to check it out when traveling and just needing to pick up a case or two. I brought a prescription for my dog to be filled at my regular CVS Pharmacy (Far West Blvd), Austin, Tx. I was informed that it would need to be ordered and could take a few days to come in. It failed to come in when expected, leaving me to (unsuccessfully) locate it elsewhere in town. The manager called me and assured me he would get this script filled that very day. Anthony at the pharmacy was a rock star. We showed up just a few minutes before closing. Heart doctor had just called in the script on the after hours clinic 10 minutes before they closed. They just started the process of closing down but he took the time to get ours pulled. He also went to the trouble to make sure that we got the savings from the coupon that was available. In the past few months, I had gone to H-E-B for a few of our prescriptions but ended up having to run around because they were out or have some other issue. I will continue going to CVS! read more

NEVER USING ANY CVS AGAIN! That sounds extreme but I am so sick and tired of these jokers screwing up prescriptions, photo orders, and basically having ZERO customer service whatsoever. This all stemmed from another cvs on Anderson Lane, I placed a very large photo order with them online via their app. Not only is their interface very difficult to use, it also does not alert you to whether or not the stores machine is up and running. Long story short, that CVS has no operable photo machines or department at all, and I was told by the manager they would accept my coupon after it expired that night since it was the stores fault. I had it rerouted to this cvs on Far West and was told I would receive an email or call alerting me when it was ready. That didn't happen, so I called today to check on it and the manager "Ade" said yes it was ready and had been for a "long time". Well...thanks for the call? When I went to pick it up this afternoon, the manager Ade was still there and refused to take my coupon. SERIOUSLY? All of this is your company's fault and you really won't take off a measly 20 freaking percent?? Ugh I am so done! I told him to keep the pictures and am now giving all my business to Walgreens! Watch out with this pharmacy!! They steal your drugs! You better check the bags before signing because they give you a closed bag, and you trust them. But this time they got a whole month of medications that I didn't received and they wouldn't give it to me so I had to pay full price (without insurance) for a month they stole from me! I too would give negative stars if possible. I have always LOVED CVS, especially in comparison to Walgreens. Well today is the last time I will ever give business to CVS (after 5+ years). The employees do not care about the patients AT ALL. I have had the same prescription for 5 years now. I had it filled in store because I forgot to get it filled via mail and needed it too soon to get in the mail. So I got it filled at Anderson Lane location. They gave me some off-brand without telling me. I got home realized it and brought it back. (there was a sticker on the bag saying they switched the brand but the pharmacist job is to explain the prescription and ANY NEW CHANGES to you, so I had no idea after 5 years they would pull a switch-eroo on me) Okay fine, no big deal. But I don't want off-brand, I paid for my brand and I wanted it. Took the return and they don't have the correct brand, but they called Far West and they did. I returned wrong prescription and called Far West myself (since Anderson Lane location WOULD NOT have the Far West location fill it for me, poor customer service, he said I would have to call them myself). SO I DID - and Far West said that Anderson Lane had not processed the return yet so I couldn't get a refill at all. At this point I have no prescription at all and they told me I couldn't get a new one either. SO I asked if Far West would call Anderson Lane to verify I had JUST returned it and they refused . So I drove BACK to Anderson Lane with Far West on my cell phone and made them talk to each other (after asking for a manger via phone and in person) IT WAS OUTRAGEOUS! They acted like it was my fault that they switched my prescription to a new brand and then wouldn't process the return. The DFW locations are great, these 2 locations have rude employees who will not take ownership of their work or put any effort towards customer service. SAVE YOURSELF 2 hours and go somewhere else. I used CVS for my flu shot for the first time because I thought it would be less crowded than HEB, partly because they have you make an appointment on line. I came in about 5 minutes before my appointment. It took over 5 minutes for the person at the counter to actually finish with me. He kept on saying he never heard of an appointment time like mine (12:11PM, assigned by the app). The person giving the flu shots came up to us just as my husband was checking in, and called for him even though my time was earlier. My husband checked in and got his shot. Then the flu shot person wanted to take the people who came in after us without an appointment. She and the counter person talked back and forth and finally decided to give me a shot before the other people. The store was crowded, and I'm going back to getting these shots at the HEB. I never write reviews, but man am I frustrated with the pharmacy department at this CVS. My physician had sent a prescription to them on Thursday. I went to pick it up on Friday and they told me that my insurance doesn't cover that particularly dosage, but they'll reach out to my physician to verify that an alternative would be suitable. Fine. My physician messaged me and said they talked to them on the phone, so I went back right before the pharmacy closed. But they told me that hadn't heard from her. That was annoying--so I contacted my physician to ask that she reach out again. They reached out again on Saturday, so I went back that evening. But the pharmacists once again told me that they still hadn't heard from them. So I messaged my physician again. They contacted them again on Monday, so I went back then. But the pharmacists told me yet again that they hadn't heard from them. So now I'm confused. I call a local Walgreens, just to see if maybe there's been some mistake. Nothing. But the pharmacists insisted that the problem was on my physician's end. So I send my physician a frustrated message asking her to please, please contact them. Going so long without my medication is dangerous! My physician calls me Tuesday morning, concerned, saying that they've reached out now several times to update the script. So now I feel like a dumb jerk. I return to the CVS; still nothing. Finally, I ask them how this could be, I literally just got off the phone with my clinic. I decide to call another CVS pharmacy and ask if they can view my profile to see if there's been any updates. They immediately ask me: "Which one? You have two profiles." One of my profiles hasn't been updated in a long time; the other was updated on Friday with the new script. Guess which one the pharmacy department at this CVS was using. They had created a separate profile, and no one had even bothered to check that there could be a systems error on their part. Once I pointed it out, they said oh. But no one even apologized or admitted error. I've gone some days now without my medication because of their incompetence and inconsideration. Major Eek! Methinks I'd rather pull my fingernails out than ever come here again. I honestly hate to do this. I've been using this pharmacy for A LONG TIME. I understand it's busy during the day, and I deal with that. I understand that it's not easy being a pharmacy tech, so I try not to reciprocate the attitude that I get from them sometimes. There are some things that are just way out of line though. There's a few good pharmacists and techs. Most of the really good ones left about a year ago. This is what replaced them... So, I'm unemployed at the moment. So broke. My mom is amazing and paid for my prescriptions over the phone last night. Whoever was working the pharmacy last night needs to be given the humanitarian award. She said that I could come pick them up before 11pm, or wait until today when the pharmacy reopened. I decided to wait because I didn't get out of school until 9:30, and I'll admit it, I'm lazy. When I went there today I told them my name and what I was there to pick up. The pharmacy tech asked if the doctor had called in a refill. I explained that he did, and that it should already be filled. She didn't look, just clicked around at the computer, before telling me that they had already been picked up. NO. I explained to her that my mom had paid for them last night, and that whoever she talked to said that I could pick them up last night, or today, and that they'd be ready. "You already picked them up yesterday," she said. I'm pretty sure that I wouldn't just pop in to CVS and stand in their long ass pharmacy line for kicks... "No, I didn't. My mom paid for them over the phone, but I didn't pick them up," "It says here that they were signed for," "I didn't pick them up, I wasn't even in the store! Who signed for them," "I can't tell," "Can I see?" "No, I can't show you that," whoa, what? You're going to tell me that someone took my medication, but you can't tell me who signed for it?? I even offered to sign on a piece of paper so that she could compare the signature. Nope. This was where I got mad. "Alright, well, since it was over $200 worth of medication, and one of them was a controlled substance, and you're not going to do anything, I'm going to have to file a police report, like, right now!" I'm starting to get loud at this point. I start to go on before she said "Ugggghhh," and rolled her eyes before grabbing a pharmacist (someone in a white jacket that knew what they were doing, at least) and said "I don't know how to deal with this," unfortunately for her, this is what working a pharmacy is like. You'll have people a lot more pissed off over a lot less. Considering that you just told me that your company let someone walk out with all of my medication, including medication that you should ID someone for, I'm keeping my $**t together pretty good. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!! So, this dude at least understood the severity of what happened. After I made a few phone calls to see if anyone I knew had managed to pick up all of my meds and just didn't tell me (and an excuse to try to cool off before further dealing with the situation), he said that he was going to take me to the cameras!! Great, it's cool, I don't have anything else to do today besides play Nancy Drew and the Case of the Stolen Medicine. So, he leads me to this little room in the corner, and proceeds to tell me to wait outside. He said he was going to look at the tapes first, then bring me back and have me look at them when he finds the person that's supposed to be me. Whatever, I'm sure it's their policy. I've had to follow some obnoxious ones also. After about ten minutes or so, he comes out, and tells me that they have my prescriptions, they just got confused, or marked it wrong, or something like that since it was paid for over the phone the night before. I tried to tell him that I explained the situation to the snobby b**** that was helping me at the pharmacy counter, but he just kind of blew it off. At this point I'm shaking, and slightly traumatized. What if I just would have walked out? I wouldn't have been able to get my medicine. We walked back over, across the store, to the pharmacy, and they were right on top, right behind where the main shark of shark week had been talking to me earlier. If she would have just listened to me for two seconds, and turned around, NONE of this would have happened. I kind of think that this is a big deal. If I were them, I would have been beside myself. I've worked jobs where I did more over less. I was not compensated in any way, just rang up and told to have a nice day. I've been with CVS for a long time, and I know every pharmacy comes with it's set of woes, but when you go THAT far, just because you're too lazy to turn around and look for a few moments, do your job if you will, then you've out-lazied me, and that's not only impressive, but unacceptable. read more

This is one of the oldest, dirtiest, and run down CVS's that I have been in, and of course it is my neighborhood option. There is almost always a line for the pharmacy or front check out, and typically only one person at the cash register. If it is a good day, you may find two people running the cash register back in the pharmacy. I always have to account for extra time when picking up anything here, it's never a run in and out. The pharmacy itself has never messed anything up, and CVS has a good website that makes it easy to refill meds. The front staff member typically yells out a warm greeting when you enter the store, which is a nice touch. The store could just use some love, more staff, and better inventory management as the shelves are often empty. read more

I'm going to preface this by saying that the rest of the CVS is okay, but this review is explicitly for the pharmacy. I would also like to preface by saying that I'm a pretty non-confrontational person, and this is the first time I've ever taken the time to write a negative review in my entire life. But it has to be done. This is the worst pharmacy I have EVER used. In fact, I think it's the only pharmacy I've ever had a single complaint about, and it's a big one. I don't know who trained this staff, or if they have a ton of new people or something, but they are seriously incompetent. Here's why: I have a newly diagnosed condition which requires me to take medication every day in order alleviate my symptoms and pain. 2 days before my prescription was set to run out, I called in to place my order so I could get it that day and not have to worry about being without my meds. The pharmacist on the phone told me that they did not have my medication in stock and would have to order more. She said I could pick it up 2 days later. I said that was okay but emphasized that it MUST be filled by this day, because if it's not, I'll be without my medication, which is bad. 2 days later, I call before going in to make sure it's ready to go. Whoever I talked to again told me the same thing. They were out of my prescription and had to order more. I was furious and explained to her that that was exactly what they had said two days ago.... that I had told them I needed it by this day and had expressed this to the pharmacist very clearly, who had reassured me that they would have it in stock. Whoever that pharmacist was, never did what she was asked despite the urgency I expressed. The pharmacist called around to other locations and THEY WERE ALSO OUT OF STOCK, so I was screwed. By now I was really, really angry. I told them to go ahead AND ORDER MORE OF MY PRESCRIPTION... that I would be there WITHIN A FEW DAYS TO GET IT (they said they would have more the next day) and after that, I would be transferring to a different pharmacy. I spent the next 6 days in pain because I did not have my medication... basically it undid much of the progress that had been made. What I had to do as a result of running out was explicitly against the doctor's instructions but I had no other choice. I even gave them a few extra days to get it filled, then I went in to pick it up about 5 days later. Can you guess what they told me? You guessed it! They said they were out of my prescription and needed to order more. it wouldn't be ready for several days. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! At this point I was seriously outraged. I don't normally cause scenes in public with strangers. But I couldn't bite my tongue, although I could've acted much worse. I explained my situation (perhaps rudely, but can you blame me?!?) and what had happened the previous 2 times I called. I was not offered a single apology. The woman at the counter only said "I don't know who you talked to. There's no note that you called or talked to anyone about ordering more of your meds. We'll have to order more." My advice to you, the customer, is this: DO NOT GO TO THIS PHARMACY IF YOU HAVE A LIFE THREATENING CONDITION OR CAN'T BE WITHOUT YOUR MEDICATIONS. I thank God this didn't happen with my previous meds because I would have been in serious, SERIOUS trouble if it had. I have NEVER IN MY LIFE encountered such incompetency from a pharmacist who has such an important job in ensuring their customers remain healthy and ALIVE. My advice to the store manager is this: GET ALL YOUR STAFF TOGETHER, Sit them down for a meeting and explain to them the role of a pharmacist/pharmacy tech and why you can't just "not order" more medication for someone. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT JOB AND YOU HAVE TO STAY ON TOP OF IT. I transferred immediately to the HEB located directly next door and I encourage you to do the same. they had it filled right away and they take all insurances AND the staff are very nice. This pharmacy is disgusting and their staff could kill someone if they keep up this way. read more

I chose this location for my prescriptions because it had a 24-hour pharmacy. Two months later, they are no longer a 24-hour pharmacy (although their voice recording still says 24-hour). I found out the hard way when I went in to get my prescription at 7pm on Sunday night and they were closed! No warning about the change, other than a sign posted on the door that I don't remember being there the last time I was there to get my prescription the month before. read more

They've given me wrong dosages, failed to update my doctors and insurance no matter how many times I provide it, and lines are forever while one slow person waits on people while ten chatter and joke in the back. No prescription can be obtained in under 30 minutes. I've called the district office, and they seem incapable of managing the issue. It happened again today (refer to my previous review)! My husband and I went in to buy vitamins. We saw that they had a two for one special going on, so we were excited by the deal. However, when we reached the counter again, two of our vitamins rang up more expensive than was marked. We had to go through the same thing that we did previously, which entailed dragging the manager to the back of the store to show him the correct price. Then we had to go back up to the counter and do it all over again. Annoying. Just plain annoying. read more

Ade the manager is completely incompetent in this store. I watched him destroy a photo product and then refuse to return the money to my husband. He then told us to call customer service while giving back the wrong order receipt and keeping the product. After over an hour with customer service, they were unable to resolve anything. We watched curse at customers, refuse to help another photo customer and refer her to customer service as well. The manager, Ade, called us back and offered a refund if we returned. Around the holidays I do not have the time to go back to a store that wasted a large portion of my afternoon for being so incompetent and stealing the product from us. read more

The convenience store part is pretty good. The staff is friendly and helpful. However, the pharmacy department is not something I can recommend. They always have a lot of staff busily doing something or other, but at the counter the wait times are long for some reason, even when I am the only person in line. Every time my fiancee goes in for a perscription, they have to call in, mess it up, say it will be far more than it's supposed to. Plus they are always horsing around with each other or on their phones. After enough horrible service she switched to, of all places, Walmart that actually get it done correctly and timely.
