Shervan was a light in a dark place. So confused why the pharmacy was closed early (to the posted hrs) but didn't have the referring information up or available. Thankful Shervan asked if I needed help, informed me of the current information and closures, then made sure I had what I needed. Wish the store reflected workers like Shervan (I hope that's how you spell his name). There are a lot of people who just want a reliable, friendly, easy store. Edit: The manager, bald male mid 30s-sh with glasses, was also very helpful here. This CVS seems underfunded and doesn't have reliable workers. He explained workers didn't show up so he was working a double which is why the checkout line is slow. Again, the pharmacy is a mess. Had a controlled prescription called in and ready on a Thursday. When I got back to town and tried to pick it up Thursday they said I could no longer get it and needed to contact my dr. 5 days and no warning from the app. This is a CVS problem, not a pharmacist issue. Corporate needs to STOP trying to overwork pharmacists and relying on screens. Hire more pharmacists, allow them to have time to contact customers and explain issues. You're killing customers and the pharmacist you employ. Moving to peoples pharmacy. Not as convenient as a drive through but CVS isnt actually convenient with all their issues. Outstanding store, especially due to the excellent service of the staff, to mention the photo, checkout and the pharmacy departments. Mgr Francis, while stocking, stopped and went the extra mile to help me find the product I was looking for, and also showed very high professionalism, friendliness, patience, knowledge, positivity, being very caring in explaining the great photo service they have (I needed two types of international passports photos taken and the competitors can not customize photo sizes, while CVS does, at any time). The help Francis did during taking the two types of passports photos, Canadian and EU, was very Extra mile, checking different lighting, distances etc, until the validation software for each country accepted them, then Francis allowed me to select the preffered posture. That was done while he was also keeping an eye on the store activity. Plus, to add that the photo processing software CVS had is excellent, the entire passport photo service is far above the professional studios for this work type. Francis is leading by example, as seen in other staff members: great service also from Travis (mgr), Maria, Gareth. At checkout, Kassy, very caring, patient and professional, stopped and went the very extra mile to help me find another product in the store. The pharmacy staff shows extra mile help, thoroughness, care, knowledge (Hannah, Mosab). The store is very clean, very well organized with available merchandise. So I get my prescription from H‑E‑B because it's more affordable but they are always low on/out of syringes and needles. I've bought self-injection supplies from a CVS before but was turned away today after wasting a bunch of time in line. Head to the Walgreens on Burnet they will happily help. Also understaffed hence the long line and wait in the drive-through. read more

This is my fav CVS always clean and the front end staff is great. I always go with all my extra bucks and discounts and the staff never gives me issues. I have been to others and they are super rude. Ex.... I went today and would have spent over $60 on some stuff. Yet walked out spring around 30 because of all my discounts. Never have they given me attitude and because of this I will continue to go here. Austin is becoming more expensive to live in so when ever I can save I'm all about it. HUGE shout out to Peter. I called the pharmacy, sat on hold for 15 minutes, then they ended the call. I called back, and they immediately, ended the call. Repeat for half an hour. I drove to the pharmacy expecting a big line, instead there were no customers at all, no one in drive through, no one in line. I stood by the register and noted 4 employees in the pharmacy area, none of them addressed me whatsoever. I stood and waited. Finally I yell out "hello, are you open?" Pharmacists aren't always the nicest, but it depends on who is there at the time. But they make sure I'm getting the lowest prices with my insurance. Big example: A 3 month supply of Trulicity has a retail price of about $3100 (as I write this, and the price seems to keep going up). The first time I filled the Rx, I only got a 1 month supply; they used a manufacturer's coupon I brought with me, and that plus my insurance brought it down to $25. After that, the pharmacy started filling the Rx as a 3 month supply and still only charge me $25. I never even asked about why or how. Right now, I have to go there to get my insurance card and driver's license back, because a pharmacist needed them to ask my insurance about free covid home test kits (which got a "no" reply, but that's not her fault), and she forgot to hand them back afterwards, and I forgot to ask for them. Front register staff are sometimes hard to find at the registers. They are often stocking or standing around talking. But if you ask them to help you at checkout, they will. Last time I was there, I waited a few minutes and then called out "Can someone come to the register?!", and a young man came around from an aisle and cheerfully rang up my stuff. There was an issue with one of the coupons not working, so he brought over a supervisor, and that guy re-rang my entire purchase. That same coupon didn't work, so he voided an item that was full price, re-rang that one, and did a price adjustment to give me the value of that coupon. Thanks to their "buy 1, get the 2nd for 99¢" deal on a supplement brand (not their store brand) and the coupons I had, my total went from over $80 down to about $46. read more

The people are nice , but I feel if you go into the bathroom, there are chances of catching something.. ughh..I'm sorry But we just talk to the manager and his answer and response was "well if I have to have the bathrooms clean anymore it's going to come out of my pocket!" This CVS is on my way home from work, so I stop in a lot, both to get my prescriptions filled and to pick up things that don't justify a full grocery run. But I can honestly say that if ANY other drugstore popped up on my commute, I'd never stop at this CVS again. The biggest complaint I have is that they've completely abandoned the checkout counter. Now that a couple of self- checkout machines have been installed, they have literally no one assigned to actually work the registers. If you have a question, you'll have to wander the aisles to find someone stocking. If you're buying something with an age-restriction, you'll have to ring yourself up, wait for the machine to page someone, and then wait for that person to finally make their way up to the counter. My guess is that cvs has an employee who's supposed to be stationed "nearby," working on something else and keeping an eye on the registers. But in 32 of 34 trips (yes, I counted), that employee is a ghost. My other issue is the pharmacy. Twice since I've started getting my prescriptions filled at this CVS, I have started taking new medications. But both times, the pharmacist (or tech) just handed me my meds without a word. Every other time in my life that I've started a new med or picked up a prescription that a pharmacy didn't previously have on file for me, someone has asked me if I've taken it before, asked if I had any questions, and given me a quick run-down of instructions and serious side effects. But not CVS. in fact, when I asked to speak to the pharmacist about one of my new meds, she seemed totally confused by my request and then couldn't answer basic questions- and this med is super-common and has been around for decades! The bottom line is that this CVS goes out of its way to make customers their lowest priority - and make sure the customers know it, too. read more

Do not EVER get a prescription filled here. They do not fill it correctly according to your insurance coverage nor do they initially ask you for insurance confirmation (that should already be in the system btw). I was presented with a bill of approx. $150 for a scrip that was $0.00 according to my insurance provider. And it took me inquiring about the total with my insurance company, on my own, for them to enter the info in. I cant help but think about what if i would have been perhaps elderly and not have the energy to inquire about that and simply handed them the incorrect amount of money. Even if i did give them the original presented amount, the refund would have taken at least 3 business days. Who's to say i have the means to be without $150 for that long simply because of THEIR negligence? Then the pharmacist was also extremely condescending and unprofessional, threatened to even transfer the already prepared scrip somewhere else simply because i had questions about how this error even occurred in the first place. A garbage/ghetto/incompetent pharmacy that i will never return to. Also the pharmacist didn't go over any of the side effects of the prescription as well; simply awful all around. read more

This pharmacy is a block from my house, so I've gone here for a long time. Until about six months ago, it was just another corporate pharmacy - a little slow, a lot impersonal, but mostly accurate and friendly. Everything about this pharmacy has gone downhill. There are food wrappers and magazines strewn around the waiting area. When I get the voicemail that my prescription is ready, it is never ready when I get there. They have lost prescriptions, *argued* with me about a brand medically necessary prescription when they filled it generic without asking me - TWICE. As in a pharmacy tech raising their voice at me when I point out the error and saying, "Well that medication is expensive and we were trying to save you money!" No. It's my money, not theirs to worry about, and the "brand medically necessary" from my physician overrides whatever the pharmacy technician thinks. It is bad enough that I filed a complaint with CVS' corporate office. A week later I received a phone call from the pharmacy manager saying that she can't help it if she's not approved for enough man hours to keep up with customer demand, and that I shouldn't have called corporate, I should have spoken to the store manager. One: this is extremely unprofessional. Two: when I asked to speak to the store manager after the first generic incident, I was told by a floor manager that "he knows about the pharmacy, but he doesn't care." I decided to change pharmacies, and figured I would wait until my current refill cycle was over. I call today to refill my prescription - only to discover that it has "disappeared" from their system. Hint taken. I'm never giving this pharmacy business again. I've transferred to Crestview pharmacy in Allendale. read more

They lock up the razors. Nuff said. And in my dire emergency for a razor I got a bit heated, annoyed and rude. Stood there a couple minutes trying to figure out how to get the razor off the rack. Apparently you need assistance to buy a razor. And how am I supposed to achieve this when there is only one person working (as cashier) helping people and no one on the floor. So I wait in line to GET ASSISTANCE. And then had to wait in line again to PURCHASE it. O crap...I could be dangerous with a freaking razor. You know...I might even hold up the store and rob them with a razor. All I wanted to do was get a razor and some extra cartridges for future. Not stand around looking for someone to help me buy my weapon. To then be handed off to someone else to get it for me. Then I got busted because I was trying to skip the whole stupid waste of time process and rip it off. No such luck. They sold me the razor I initially wanted and busted up the package trying to get it off the holder. UGH! read more

If the location of this place weren't so convenient for me, I'd probably never come here. But since I do come here fairly often and fill my prescription here, I guess I can't really give it one star. In most other respects, it's a pretty average CVS. The part that's notably annoying is the pharmacy. For some reason the line is always super long, and moves at a snail's pace. They also seem to lose a lot of transferred prescriptions (happened to me, seems to have happened to a lot of other reviewers, and I see it happen to others in person almost every other time I'm there). Workers are friendly once you get up to the front of the line. They're probably just understaffed, but it's pretty impossible to see how things are run there and not have the word "incompetent" spring to mind. =\ read more

In so much pain I didn't trust myself to walk through the store, so I pulled up to the drive thru and asked if I could purchase pepto at the drive thought she literally told me with an attitude "no I'm not going to walk out there and get it for you, you have to walk in and get it yourself." Even after I told her I didn't think I physically could because of the pain I am in (if my year filled eyes weren't a good enough indicator). Of all the choices in the campus / Hyde Park area, this is the one for me. The store is well-stocked, always clean, has nice employees, and has a very rapid pharmacy. The CVS on the Drag is a joke, but this one is really pleasant. Make sure you get a CVS extra card (or whatever they call their club card), since you get cash back every quarter to spend on whatever. Looking at the mixed bag of previous reviews, I'm a bit surprised. I've been using the pharmacy and store for at least the last five years and have always been very happy. The staff at the store are super friendly. The times when I couldn't find a product stocked (eg distilled water), the manager was more than happy to search the back of the storage for extra bottles. Cashiers are polite and often welcome you when you enter. The pharmacy has always filled the prescriptions when they say they would. Upon walking to the back of the store I encountered two employees stocking shelves. One had no mask whatsoever, the other with a mask on his chin! CVS-get it together! I came in yesterday evening to pick up a prescription I refilled online. I had refilled the prescription almost two days prior to picking it up and it still wasn't ready. I've had this happen twice before at this location. There were numerous people in line and a few of them had the same problem I had. I have been getting my prescriptions filled at this CVS Pharmacy location for years, but they have gone way downhill. Customer service used to be great, but after repeated incidents of terrible service over the last few months, I've finally transferred all my scrips to Walgreens. Here is but one of many examples I could list ... I know they are often SUPER slow at getting refills ready, so about 5 days before I need it, I request a refill online. I go in to pick it up more than 24 hours later, and it's not ready. "It'll be 20-30min," they tell me. CVS is right by my office, so I just told them I'd come back at the end of the day. When I return about 6 hours later, it's still not ready. "You can wait 30min or so, and we'll have it ready for you." Uh, no thanks, I'll swing by in the morning on my way into work. Instead of coming back in the morning, I wait all the way until my lunch break, and that prescription is STILL not ready. WTH?? "Can you take a seat and wait 20min and we'll get it ready for you?" No I can't! I told them I'd wait right there at the front of the line for it, thankyouverymuch. And it took them about 5min. Is this what it takes every time I need a prescription refill? So annoying. I've never been by there when there's not a line about 10 people deep. They are either seriously understaffed or really poorly managed. Or, probably, both. Likely the worst pharmacy I've ever used. Pulled up to the drive through and waited for 15 minutes while they told me they couldn't find my prescription. After telling them multiple times it was faxed in and their automated text message said it was ready they finally found it. Then later I come back for another prescription and they tell me they don't have it. When I assure the lady it was there she told me she couldn't find it. After finally tracking it down she said you need to come in and hung up on me. The attitude and lack of respect is hands down the worst I've ever experienced. Walgreens, Walmart, or Target is the way to go. read more
