This review is particularly for the pharmacy portion of this CVS location. I stopped by last week after having another CVS pharmacy notify me that my particular (very hard to find) prescription was available here. The location is a bit out of the way--in the Virginia Highlands area--but I am glad I spent the time to go here. When I stopped by mid-week in the late morning, the pharmacy was very quiet and the actual pharmacist helped me with questions and filling of the prescription. I didn't catch his name, but the Indian-American male pharmacist was great. Also, when walking around the store, I noticed that they were very well stocked with beverages and snacks. I had several prescriptions transferred here from another local CVS because the other store was out of stock. This store restocked them before I could pick them up despite the app and text messages telling me all were ready to be picked up and that they would still be available for pickup for another couple days. I tried to use the single-person bathroom while waiting for them to refill my prescriptions but there were 3 people inside the locked bathroom giggling and talking about what they were going to do tonight, etc. They knew someone was waiting but showed no signs of moving things along. This was once a lovely pharmacy. No more! It's gone from bad to worse. Pharma is understaffed, mismanaged, can't communicate and treat customers like a burden. Minimum wait time is 30 minutes. NEVER advise if an Rx is back-ordered until it's too late. The call-in recording only wants to sellthings, not service long-term clients. The app is completely worthless. Do NOT go to this pharmacy!!! They filled the wrong prescription and the only way I would have known if I didn't call my insurance since I was notified that what they filled wasn't covered by insurance. When I called my insurance to inquire the issue since it was covered previously, I was informed the difference between what they filled vs what my doctor prescribed. They said it was because it was out of stock, but that is not their choice to make. And insurance said they are not supposed to change a doctor prescribed medication. They should have let me know if it really was out of stock and I could make an informed choice, waited or gone elsewhere. The difference on the bottle was two letters, there is no way your average person would know the difference yet it's 100% different (synthetic med vs natural). The run around I got was unacceptable and they were so uninformed and unhelpful. It's unacceptable they prescribed something knowing it was wrong AND not covered by my insurance. You really have to be be cautious and not blindly assume people are doing what's in your best interest. I let my doctor know and asked if it was a CVS pharmacy saying this is a common practice to lie about things being out to stock. Sure it's all about the $$$. read more

I'm so grateful for this convenient neighborhood store--it's walking distance for me. When handling monthly prescriptions, I usually drop them off in the morning, and either pick them up after walking across the street to Ace or waiting in the store--I get a text that tells me they are ready. But I am also grateful for the convenient grocery items they stock, for the times I don't want to drive to the bigger grocery store. The employees in the front of the store are always very kind and cheerful; it's so nice to have their consistent service! Glad to know that CVS retains good people. read more

Went in for a passport photo and had surprised by the extremely polite and helpful staff. It took no time at all. My only disappointment was the store itself felt cramped. Not my preference in COVID times. read more

The check-in system at this location doesn't even work properly. I arrived for my appointment and could not check-in. I waited to ask for assistance from one of the nurses but the system will automatically remove your appointment after 10 minutes passes from the scheduled time. Time wasted and no customer service. Go somewhere else. read more

Large selection of products relative to other CVS stores in the area. Vaccine appointments ran way more efficiently than a different CVS nearby. Would return again for simple medical care like that. read more

How do you describe such a place of utter despair? I gave it a 2 because it is slightly better than the other locations around me, which all suck, also. Nothing! makes you feel better than standing in an endless line while one person handles 20 sick and sneezing people waiting for prescriptions as the woman in front has 20 items from the grocery section and is trying to check out at the pharmacy counter while you are trying to get a much needed pain med prescription filled for a toothache. What is really soothing to you later when you are bed ridden is a string of 40 or 50 text messages telling you to come pick up refills which don't actually exist and are only filled after you get there, thus putting you in the line above. I mean really CVS, could you possibly design a system that is less customer centric than the one you use now? I know profit is everything but can you at least hand out candy or something while you are fleecing everyone with 3X the cost pharmaceuticals and making them spend their entire day to get a pill? Whoever the solicitors are in the Orange shirts outside of your cvs need to go. Every time I come to this location they are standing outside saying 'hey ma'am' trying to sell me something etc. It is extremely irritating. Please make them leave. The store is right around the corner from me so I shop here often. Most of the employees know me by now, and most are genuinely friendly and helpful. I especially love the clearance after the holidays because this particular location tends to have plenty of great stuff for half off, including lots of candy. I always save a ton on Christmas decorations, Halloween costumes, Valentine's gifts etc. by getting them a year in advance. read more

I love the convenience of this store. It's really everything I need only a short walk away. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. They quickly recognize regulars and greet you with a smile! Hang on to those coupons that print out, I've gotten a few hundred "Extra bucks" in the last two years. It's like free money! read more

I'm not much for leaving Yelp reviews, but after 10 years of coming to this CVS to fill prescriptions I've had enough. This is hands down the worst pharmacy I have ever used in my life and after yet another mix up with prescriptions here I can say that I will never, ever come back here again. I've lived in Atlanta for 15 years and have been using this CVS for about 10 years. Somehow, every single time-literally every single time-I come here to pick up a prescription there is some kind of mistake or mix up that requires me to either wait 15-20 mins or to come back later to pick up the correct script. I use the automated phone system or online to refill scripts and always wait until the system texts or emails me that the prescription is ready. Every single time I go in to pick it up it's either not ready or they've lost it or it's been filled incorrectly. Add to that the fact that the staff have no sympathy for the inconvenience and care little about whether or not their system is working and you have a recipe for a lot of discontent. I sincerely hope that whoever is responsible for the management of this pharmacy reads Yelp reviews because I will never, ever come back here due to the constant mistakes and the poor attitude of the pharmacists who work here. Most of my visit for this CVS have been for the Redbox lol. So glad they have it as sometimes there isn't anything I want at my usual box. I have also stopped into the store a few times when there has been a sale on a particular item that I am interested in. They tend to have most of these items in stock. I only shop here for sales as their regular prices are higher than at Kroger. I've never used the pharmacy, so I can't comment on that. While you are in the store, scan your CVS card at the kiosk to see what coupons are offered. read more

I am always impressed with the staff at the front counter at this CVS, but not so much the pharmacy. I called today in regards to a very personal and uncomfortable infection I have, in which I have never had before. I simply needed a pharmacists advise on what to do. The pharmacist I spoke with was extremely short, rude, and unsympathetic towards me. She didn't seem to care and talked down to me as if I was stupid. Her advise was unhelpful and she rushed me off the phone as quick as she could. I am now considering a new pharmacy with a more generous staff. Very disappointed. read more

Went to pick up my Rx after they called and said it was ready. They couldn't find it in the computer so the woman helping me got frustrated and instead of looking for it she went around the corner and drank a soda. When I expressed my frustration to the pharmacist she said that's her best employee and she's pregnant. When my boyfriend said that had nothing to do with anything the pharmacist asked my boyfriend if he's ever been pregnant. When we expressed outrage at her comment she threatened not to give me my prescription. Her exact words were "you know I don't have to give you this prescription" This CVS has reached an all time low. Definitely believe the pharmacist crossed a line regarding ethics. Will be contacting corporate office. Update: I just transferred my prescription to publix on ponce and they were so nice. I can't even remember the last time an employee was nice to me at cvs. I don't know why I accepted such poor service for so long. Finally moving on and thrilled. read more

I waited forever behind one guy in line just to drop off a script. There are 4-5 people working at various things. Two are looking something up for the guy in front of me. When I finally get up to one of the two drop off counters they have, one of the other 4 guys comes over to help me. My complaint is why couldn't he have come over to help me at the second counter when they saw me waiting behind the guy with such a complex order ?!?!! read more

Incompetent pharmacy staff. My provider called in a prescription (I heard him call it in). Next day I went to pick it up. They had no record of it and were basically unconcerned and unhelpful. Save yourself the hassle and take your business elsewhere. read more

I stopped coming here for a while and then had to come back as it had a script the other did not and I was quickly reminded why I avoid this one. The Pharmacy staff is nice but the store looks like wore torn Bosnia or Beirut. Stuff all over the floor in crates and barren shelves. They need to get a new leadership team or just close it. They wrote on my prescription to take 4 tablets a day. I thought it was crazy for me to do that and called the next day. It's supposed to be 2 tablets a day! What if I didn't question it? This place still sucks. Poor quality control! They can end up killing someone with their lack of attention to detail. read more

First, when I walked in there was merchandise ALL over the floor. I was stepping over things to walk through the isles. When I asked an associate where something was she yelled across the store to another associate who pointed and said "over there." Not helpful. The cherry on top was that I was checking out and the cashier asked me for my rewards number. I started saying the number and she said "do it yourself" (in the rudest tone), pointed at the screen, and walked away. When she came back from doing whatever she was doing I told her I had a coupon and handed her my coupon which was attached to another coupon. I explained I did not want to use the other one and that I would appreciate if she could simply throw it away after she scanned it. She told me I had to rip the coupon before she could scan it (not true at any other CVS I have ever been to) and pushed it forcefully towards me. I asked her if she could just scan it and she refused to help me until I stood there ripping apart the coupon. When I finally asked if she had a manager she said it was her and looked smugly at me.
