Coastal Outdoor Spaces was great to deal with from the beginning to the very end. Pre-Covid we had…read morereceived a few quotes but didn't get a good feeling from those vendors. Spent a week sanding the old wood deck, priming and then 2 coats of stain, thinking it should last for awhile...nope! So back to the drawing board and interviewing vendors! One would think prices would be similar as the main product (Fiberon Good life) and other parts of the deck were very similar, but again I was wrong Brandon (Owner of the company) was very laid back, explained the situation and the plan. Once we signed the contract, it would take about 2 weeks to obtain the permit from Anne Arundel County (which it did) and then they would start right away! Seemed almost too good to be true as the 2 other companies stated it would be a few months wait (and much more $$$$) The deciding factor for us to go with Brandon was that a friend had used them and they were extremely impressed with the whole evolution and the finished product. 1 of our huge concerns was that a downstairs window that has an escape hatch remains a legal bedroom. A few companies said it may not be an option. Brandon took the time to go down to the County office with our plan and got assurance that it would still be a legal bedroom They started the demo of the old deck when they said they would and would have finished on time (if not ahead) if not for some severe rainy days. The 3 men crew were led by Henry and they worked very well together. Lot of laughing and 1 guy loved to sing, and they were working hard! I have the video to prove it and I was home a few days! People that are happy and get along with their co-workers tend to show better results and I can assure you that was the case here. As well they cleaned up the work area at the end of each work day Finished product? Excellent! It really looks sharp and we are over the moon happy with it. Neighbors that have come by have been impressed and our house is by a path so I have had a few people state it looks sharp. Was it a perfect from start to finish? Almost, but not quite. After the demo of the wood deck, I found some screws/nails on the driveway. Told Brandon, was never an issue again. Only other minor issue was some caulking and again told Brandon and it was fixed. Very minor issues, but I try and write an honest review. And for me, when there are issues a good company rectifies them and Brandon did so very quickly Conclusion, we have a beautiful, well-constructed deck that I feel we will enjoy for many years and at a very good price. Brandon was a man of his word and Henry and his crew did a terrific job. I highly recommend Coastal Outdoor Spaces be one of the companies you interview for your deck project. I have attached some pictures, please keep in mind I am Registered Nurse and not a professional photographer, and will look even better once we get some plants placed in front of it

Communication was incredible, and we are delighted with our decision. Pricing was extremely transparent, and I felt like Elmer had my budget in mind--so much so that he advised against a couple of suggestions because the cost didn't make sense. Elmer and his crew were meticulous in their work, arriving early, working nonstop through the day, and leaving the worksite clean. Unfortunately, there are several spots that were missed on our house. The company promotes pressure washing but instead they use a diluted bleach solution. We were not informed of this prior, did not state this on the estimate and did not know it was used until the job was done and we asked. This made us nervous due to the flowers, rose bushes and grass we have the surround the home; not to mention we have two dogs. Sure enough not even a week later our plants and grass are dying. I have never seen a crew so passionate about what they were doing that they were careful to make sure that everything was done absolutely perfectly. They carefully shaped and honed each piece of stone. You'll see in the photos how beautiful it turned out. The owner Tony even went to a quarry in Marriottsville Maryland to find the particular stone that I liked. We used real stone, not the fake stuff. Once the façade was completed, they did a beautiful job on the patio in slate match the colors spectacularly my neighbors from all around came to watch and marvel at the finish product. Fantastic Experience!…read more Kathleen and her team are amazing! It was a fantastic experience from the beginning to the end of our first landscaping phase. Our first contact with Petro Design/Build Group was with Tricia, who walked us through the process, answered our questions, and put us in contact with Kathleen to schedule our consultation. Tricia is very professional, personable, and a joy to talk to. Kathleen arrived at our home for the consultation - not just on time but early. Immediately, we were greeted with a smile and a kind nature. We walked her through the yard, and she asked us what we were looking for. She is extremely easy to talk to and is very engaging in listening and suggesting options. The whole time she took notes, which was refreshing to see since previous landscapers we consulted just nodded and provided a design that did not meet any of our needs. She evaluated the slope of our yard to determine the wetter areas and took measurements. When she was done, she told us she would have a design for us by the end of the following week. We had our consultation on Friday, and she actually had our design emailed to us that following Monday. She provided a detailed sketch with multiple concept options and walked us through each area of the design. She responded quickly and answered all of our questions completely. She was always patient and understanding and never once did the process feel overwhelming. For once, we felt included and comfortable with every step of the process. Once our HOA approved her design, we were scheduled in for the first phase of our landscaping project - the front yard. She arrived the first day, preparation day, before the landscaping installation team. She went over her design ensuring measurement and placement of plant beds. Once Matt and his team arrived, Matt and Kathleen walked through everything before the team started the planting prep. Matt and his team are very courteous, professional, and extremely hard workers. We have terrible soil in our yard. It is a new build, so not only hard clay soil but plenty of construction debris throughout. They powered through removing grass, manually tilling in compost (due to nearby utility lines), and hauling away all of the debris. The second day was planting day! Kathleen arrived with all of the native plants and the trees were delivered. Kathleen and her team laid out all of the plantings according to the design with a few last minute tweaks that were perfect. She then walked us through the layout and checked if we were happy with the layout before any planting occurred. The team did an amazing job of planting everything and incorporating a few transplants. I cannot say enough about what an amazing experience we have had! We are excited to start our next phase this in early fall.
