He was one of the very few vendors I never needed to micromanage or continually follow up with. He was professional, proactive, courteous, and incredibly easy to work with from beginning to end. Our wedding included guests from very different cultural and religious backgrounds, so finding a DJ was challenging. We needed someone who could seamlessly transition between traditional Jewish, Arabic, Russian, and American music while making everyone feel included. Emanuel absolutely delivered. He met us at the venue beforehand and actually gave US advice about the setup, including where to position his equipment, the bar, and our mehitza (dancing barrier) to optimize the space. His company also provided our lighting AND a percussionist. Having one vendor handle all three was an enormous relief and saved us thousands compared with the separate DJ and lighting quotes we received. I gave Emanuel a Google Doc with roughly 80 songs spanning all the different styles we wanted. He ACTUALLY LISTENED TO IT. We had a Zoom call where he went through the music with me, gave constructive feedback, and suggested additional songs that fit the vibe perfectly. The week before the wedding, HE reached out to US to finalize details and even helped us structure the reception timeline around our buffet and dancing. On the wedding day, I never had to check on him or his team once. They arrived, set up, tested the sound, and handled everything. But the biggest testament to Emanuel was the dance floor. Our ultra-Orthodox guests were dancing during the first hour, including our rabbi and his wife. After the mehitza came down, we transitioned into Arabic, Russian, American, and other music. My 90-year-old grandmother was on her feet dancing. My ultra-Orthodox sister-in-law, whom I have NEVER seen dance at a wedding without a mehitza, continued dancing after it was removed. The next morning she told me every time she tried to sit down, Emanuel played another song she loved and she couldn't help herself. Multiple guests told us almost the EXACT same thing: "Every time I wanted to sit down or leave, another song I loved came on." I can't think of a better compliment for a DJ. People called us the next morning saying it was one of the most FUN weddings they'd ever attended. My family, my husband's family, our religious guests, and our friends all had music they loved. Emanuel somehow made everyone feel included without the night ever feeling disjointed. He was fantastic at reading the room and MCing, and I HIGHLY recommend adding the percussionist. He brought incredible energy, particularly to the Arabic music, and our guests were raving about him. I also specifically asked Emanuel not to make the music painfully loud because we had elderly guests. He listened. My grandmother could sit comfortably while the dance floor was still energetic and the sound quality was excellent. I originally discovered Musica Entertainment through an AI search for a DJ who could cater to multiple ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and I feel incredibly lucky it led me to Emanuel. If you're planning a multicultural, interfaith, or religious wedding and wondering how one DJ can possibly make everyone happy: hire Emanuel. I would hire him and his team again in a heartbeat.

Nergis was a dream to work with - she was super responsive and so dedicated to making the event a success. Setup was easy for our DJs. Nergis tailored the lighting to be in the school colors and even had happy hour pricing for the first hour of the event. It's clear Atolye is invested in the neighborhood and community. They have jazz events and album openings too, and will always go above and beyond. I couldn't recommend this place more highly.

To say the customer service from 1FOCUS Photobooth was outstanding is an understatement. From the time I texted to ask a few questions until 11pm on the night of the party (when I asked to extend because everyone was having sooo much fun), Daniel's friendliness and uber quick response time were much appreciated and I could tell from the start that booking them was going to go well (had nightmare-like/kissed many a frog type scenarios with some other folks I've booked for parties, won't bore you with the deets ). In addition, their attention to detail, organized timeline schedule, and creativity BLEW me away. They did an amazing job at customizing the photobooth 4 x 6 printout to match the logo I had designed for my niece's party and don't get me started on the start up screen for the mirror photobooth, wish I could include the clip. Her party had a fashion theme and they were able to make the model in the logo 'come to life' as she 'walked' toward people waiting for the photobooth to take pics, words do no justice as to how insanely cute it was... Could say so much more but will end with sharing that the two upbeat attendants (one I corresponded with via email, Chris, who also does the graphics for 1FOCUS, is another pleasant guy I enjoyed working with there) arrived way before 3pm for a 7pm party start time, say what? I mean #mindblown, thought it was mistake at first but it was intentional so that there would be plenty of time to setup. Wow. This was the most unprofessional party vendor that I ever encountered. I had to order some…read morecarnival items like the cotton candy and popcorn machines along with some high bar tables. The tables were OK but the carnival games were a whole other story. These are the times when I wished I could give zero stars or even negative stars. Don't be fooled by the general high rating! I spoke with the representative and he made me think that nothing would have gotten wrong. I was assured by his professional customer service but on the day of the event, everything went awry. The delivery men wouldn't bring our items to the 5th floor, speaking of an elevator fee that we didn't pay. Not once was that fee mentioned and the items came so gut wrentchingly nasty that me being a popcorn lover I don't even want to know whether or not people clean their machines. We had to clean the machines ourselves. At first the box of materials were not left with the rest of the items. When I did find it, I discovered that the box was just a ripped up cardboard box that had the popcorn oil all over it. Hey party rental thanks for not even providing us a full fledged box, you're too cheap to even give us a new cardboard box for our machine supplies. I kept calling the guy too because the two machines had the worst instructions ever. It might as well have said "put oil, put kernels". Where are the oil to kernel ratios? Good thing I'm more familiar with the cotton candy machine, but one of the heating knobs were actually missing. I almost set our event venue on fire with that dang popcorn machine, with smoke everywhere. Perhaps you guys should clean your machine before using it, so you don't kill yourself or others. The cotton candy machine had all this already burnt sugar on it and the bowl section was covered in dirt. After a while of calling the rep, I would say that he shut off his phone because it went to voicemail. Sorry to bother you, but if you guys did your job right the first time I wouldn't have had to reach you. For some reason also they didn't even pick up their machines next day, why would any event venue be okay with you picking up after 4 days later? Dear Brooklyn party rental, I cannot believe you guys call yourself a company. Thanks for letting me know first hand to NEVER rent from you again. Also, you're welcome that we finally cleaned your dirty as heck machines.

During the wedding Christian and his team arrived with plenty of time to set up and get us ready, especially since the plans were changed due to a thunderstorm. Not only was he quick to react with this, he was also quick to reassure us and adapt to the situation. Christian and his team seemed to be everywhere at once, capturing every special moment from multiple angles. He stayed later than planned after we requested as he was doing such a great job at immersing himself in the event and seeking those one of a kind moments, even standing out in the rain with us and his team for some shots of the NYC skyline. After the wedding Christian and his wife released a select few photos the morning after which were great, and their communication afterwards was prompt and attentive still. We received both photos and videos inside of two months after the wedding which was way faster than we expected. They were also very reasonably priced for the outstanding service provided and we wish them all the success in the future. When we have family photos/events we will certainly be returning!
