I have been meaning to write this post for months. It has taken me this long because I wanted to get it right, I wanted to find the words right words that expressed how GREAT URE Events has been. I've come to realize that those words do not really exist. There are no words that can express the lasting memories my wife and I have as a result of URE Events. We contracted URE Events to DJ our wedding on July 7, 2016 at the Swan Club. From day one they were on the job, giving us information, ideas, and knowledge about our big day - even BEFORE we committed to using them. Their encouragement and sincere desire for our day to be special really set us at ease and made picking URE Events for our wedding a no-brainer. Our wedding has been called "Phenomenal", "the best ever", and " better than our own" by our guest. We credit URE Events to most of this praise. Leo DJed for us on two separate nights and he was wonderful! I work with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of NYC and Leo provided amazing DJ services for two of our annual Light The Night Walks in Staten Island and Queens this past October. We used URE for our wedding in NYC Feb 23, 2018. With only 4 months to plan the wedding we needed a professional, efficient DJ and that's just what we got. Michelle and Leo are absolutely fantastic!! They took all the stress away of planning the ins and outs of the wedding day (song choices, flow of the night, etc.) And the DJ.....AMAZING! They are super flexible and will tailor the whole experience to your needs, wants and personality! We got SO MANY guest compliments on the music and MC. They really know how to throw a party!!! After seeing what a great job they did at our wedding our friend is using them for her upcoming wedding! URE is excellently priced, professional and a ton of fun to work with! Leo and Maria are the most amazing and efficient wedding vendors ever! They made the whole DJ process so smooth. I was never stressed with them. On the day of the wedding, they took care of everything. From making sure my husband and I were taken care of, to making sure everyone was having a great time. Two weeks after the wedding and people were still complimenting us on how much fun they had dancing at our wedding. They even had my husband dancing; something that is extremely rare. At first glance, someone may think their prices are expensive. They cost more than a standard DJ but they are so worth every last penny. They are worth way way more than they charge. Leo and Maria at URE Events provided DJ and lighting services at my wedding on 05/14/2015. Ours was an inter-racial marriage with one side Dominican and the other Indian, which was a tough assignment for any DJ company but Leo and Maria performed excellent and surpassed our expectations. Due to our special requirements for a bi-lingual (Spanish & English) MC and DJ who could play Spanish, English and Bollywood music, we met with a number of DJ companies but felt confidant of URE Events right after our first meeting after seeing their personal attention to what we were looking for. I found URE events almost by accident. Was accompanying my friend who was getting married in California (I was a bridesmaid) to the Bridal Expo in Times Square NYC. she wasn't looking for a dj just checking out last minute vendors for favors, guest gifts, accessories, etc. what made me stop at URE booth is the photo back drop as the background and props were super cute and who would pass up a free photo keepsake right I was greeted by Leo and took his card and mentioned my friend the bride had a DJ but I was looking for a DJ for my daughter's sweet 16. So a few days later i checked out their website and videos on YouTube and was blown away. Maria and Leo not only assisted me with planning certain details but I took advantage of their photography and videography packages as well. They will work with pretty much any budget and me being a single mom i wanted quality for whatever money I was paying as this is my only child's special day. My calls and texts were always answered if not promptly the next business day cause these guys are busy ! But I never felt that it was about the money they genuinely cared about making my daughters day special. Wedding @The Fox Hollow on 4/24/16--Thanks to Maria and Leo with the rest of team URE, we danced the night away and had the time of our lives! In the beginning I had trouble deciding on a DJ because even though my husband and I are Guyanese, we had a multicultural guest list and loved all kinds of music. After meeting with Maria and Leo, I knew the hunt was over! Maria explained all the details and got to know us as a couple, we were sold by her professionalism, outgoing personality and all the creative ideas they brought to the table. Leo was concerned because we made the decision to book without hearing his sample--which he made sure he played before we left. Leo played a sample of reggae, soca, Top 40 and Latin music that had us even more convinced. They set up an affordable payment plan for our exclusive package in addition to the step & repeat photo station and Maria continued to check in with us for the months to come. The day of our wedding, Maria, Leo, their son Deejay Zeus and Cisco who was in charge of the photo booth exceeded our expectations. From getting everyone up on their feet to give us a group hug (which opened the dance floor and gave us a great photo shot) to making sure our guestbook was filled with pictures and best wishes from our photo booth. We were pleased and our guests were happy, some of them mentioned, "I was sad when dessert was being served because that meant the night was coming to an end" or" I felt like I was in college all over again". These were just a few of many positive comments we heard from that night, if you choose team URE you won't be disappointed. Leo, Leo, Leo. I have no words for what you gave me and Phil yesterday. Happy, elated, appreciative, and thankful aren't even enough to explain what you've done for us. You have done and gone further than what I expected you to do. Everyone complimented every second of our wedding. I'm getting choked up writing this. You have a special place in ours lives. We were excited to work with URE, but as our wedding date approached there was a lot of miscommunication. We asked to add a photo booth, and it took us reaching out several times and almost a month before this was finally confirmed. Eight days before our wedding, we were told there was a change in management which was the reason for the miscommunication. We were still confident that URE would pull our wedding off since we were told that the change in management would have no bearing on our event. Clearly this wasn't the case. Per our contract and initial meeting, we were expecting a DJ and a separate emcee. We ended up getting one and the same. Our maitre'd tried her best to be our liaison and ended up getting frustrated with URE after our cake cutting was inexplicably delayed 20 minutes. The photo booth attendant was nice, but after the wedding we realized that we didn't get a copy of every picture taken. In fact, we received less than half, and the quality was HORRIBLE. Every picture had a huge bright flash right in the middle, and it blocked out faces in some pictures. Also, the album was poor quality. The pictures were taped to white pieces of paper and the guests were given green permanent markers to write with, so everything bled through to the other pages. The music played during the night was decent, despite there being house music played several times against my wishes. I followed up with URE a couple of weeks after my wedding to voice my concerns. At first, Leo tried to put the blame on me, saying I had a tough crowd, I was nitpicking because everything went well in the grand scheme of things since names were pronounced correctly, and I shouldn't have picked the gold backdrop for the photo booth. After a lengthy conversation, Leo admitted the event was an "off-night" for URE due to the change in management and apologized for everything. His photographer edited the pics for us, but we are still waiting for the disc 4 months later. URE was not worth $3500. read more
