With Shirly, the answer is 100% yes! I contacted multiple photographers for my son's 100 Days photos, and Shirly stood out even before the session began. She was incredibly responsive in emails, answered all my clueless and nit-picky questions in advance, and even helped us choose outfits for the family pictures (I sent her photos of the clothes we were thinking of wearing and she gave useful feedback). Her studio is warm and inviting and has a zero-stress setup for babies with a changing table, wipes, and even a nursing pillow for when I needed to breastfeed my son in the middle of the session. Her props and backgrounds are soft and minimalist and make for wonderfully classic baby photos. Shirly was also amazing at handling my baby and gently getting him into all sorts of positions while capturing his various expressions. When he fell asleep towards the end of the photoshoot, she used the opportunity to get some sleeping shots which turned out to be the grandparents' favorites. You really cannot get a better experience than Shirly, and I will be recommending her to any NYC-based parents I know.

She also did some family shots with my husband and three year old that are absolutely gorgeous. She also came back after my daughter was born to do her newborn portraits, and again great success. We plan to use her for our family photos going forward. She's a great person and an extremely talented photographer. I don't know what is stronger , the positive energy she brings into your space or her skill level with a camera. LOVE.

Her style is exactly what I was looking for: Fun, vibrant, candid, authentically NYC, and keeping true to the kid's character. Her photographer's eye is incredible, and the composition of her shots is truly art. She picked the best spots for our family shoot and was so kind and patient and worked so well with my fussy toddler who will *not* pose or stand still for more than a few seconds. Despite the fuss and the sweltering 90+ degree summer heat, she got a ton of gorgeous, incredible shots that perfectly captured my kiddo's glee and happiness :). She knows how to work with kids and never pushes them to do anything they don't want to and plans the photoshoot route very strategically to maximize great shots. She's also super quick to respond, professional, and had my photos done in less than a week! My jaw dropped when I saw the pics because (a) they were gorgeous, and (b) I don't know how she got so many awesome pics of my kid smiling because I mostly remembered whining and fussing, haha. I can't wait to have another session with her! I'd recommend her to anyone looking for fantastic, unique family/baby/kid photos in a heartbeat.

I feel very lucky to have found Sabina before she rockets into what will be a most stellar career…read more I found myself in need of a photographer for our small civil ceremony back in my hometown of SLO (okay, Atascadero, so shoot me). Being addicted to all things internet, I perused Yelp and Craigslist and found just a handful of postings that seemed credible. I emailed a few and greatly appreciated Sabina's prompt, courteous and informative reply. (Not to mention her online portfolio that showed a creative eye for photography and not a single cliched or cheesy shot.) With only a few descriptive emails back and forth (and not a single meeting or phone call), my husband-to-be and I arrived at the County Clerk's office, met up with Sabina and walked right in for our marriage license and civil ceremony. She did an impeccable job of capturing special moments and expressions in a rather drab county office and extremely small government 'chapel', all the while making everyone feel at ease. And, even better, we then headed outside. Sabina had already scouted out three great spots within two blocks for little, mini-shoots (all-the-while staying away from the Mission where every other wedding photo in San Luis comes from). With each setting, she managed to create wonderful candid shots that were unique and perfect and just looked happy. For a two-hour shoot (and a very reasonable price), we were so happy with what Sabina captured. Given our rather nontraditional wedding, I'm very glad that we'll have these photos and memories to keep. Sabina absolutely understood--and improved on--what I'd described in our email exchanges. And, the full suite of images was uploaded to an online album in less than a week. I would recommend Sabina without reservation. Her professionalism and attention to detail belie her young age and her talent, efficiency and creative eye all trump it all.

Sabina is truly a one of a kind artist and her work is absolutely transcendent. You will find no other photos like hers and no sweeter or more genuine artist. Thank you so much Sabina! Looking forward to our next shoot!

Kristina's photography is different. She has a natural documentary-style approach, uses natural light, and photographed my child running around being silly in my very own home. From the moment I met her and saw how she interacted with my son, I could tell that she's successful at what she does because she loves what she does. My now husband and I are pretty camera shy and hugely appreciated Cheyanna's hands-on direction, her efforts to make us feel comfortable, and her overall fun, easy-going affect. For me personally, I can't imagine my wedding day without Cheyanna. I already knew that I loved her photography and that she would beautifully capture the day, but she went above and beyond that. She was so kind, supportive, and really was a much-needed calming presence for me throughout the day. Not only did I feel taken care of, I for once felt beautiful and confident, which meant more to me that I can attempt to put into words. Cheyanna's second shooter for the day, Jordan, was also fantastic and per my husband, helped to make the photography more fun. They made for a great duo!
