I've spent a lot of money at this store over the past 10 years. I went in today to pick up panels and a pillow I ordered through the store. These were not just your average 1 yard panel, I ordered 2 yard panels each with block out fabric = 8 yards total plus the pillow. "Erin or Aaron" brought my order to the front for me. This employee did not offer to assist me to the car with the panels and pillow or offer to accompany me to the door to open it for me. Two 2 yard panels with the block out fabric are very heavy, not to mention the long neck pillow and carrying a handbag. I had to open the door with my foot. Did I mention...there were no customers in the store, so any of these employees could have at least "offered" to open the door. Do know...these employees work on commission. Just NOT good customer service UNLESS...you are dealing with "Gabriel." Gabriel is always VERY helpful and patient. read more

I love this store! What a fun surprise to see that they have expanded their showroom space to include a large selection of accessories, rugs & furniture! I bought a new custom made sofa, fabric for draperies and some misc. accessories, and found some candles that were on sale in the back clearance area! I'm taking my sister next week, she and her husband just moved here from Austin and has a whole house to decorate! Great news, but I'll miss my trips to Lake Travis with them! read more

This place is loaded with fabric and decorative items. I am new to sewing, and wanted to make high quality curtains, but was a afraid to spend too much/yard (knowing I'll probably mess them up) LUCKY ME, they had TONS of beautiful fabrics on sale...I found the perfect print for 66% off. All the staff were helpful and pleasant & Tony was very courteous, taking my fabric to the front of the store after cutting. Also offered to cut samples. read more

I don't like leaving a bad review, but I drove all the way from McKinney to buy some fabric here. I had a bag full of samples of colors I'm working with and had the fabric narrowed down and ready to buy/order 10 yards of fabric which cost $75 a yard. All I needed was a sales person to place the order. Since we were the only customers in the store, one would think getting help would be easy. I made the "mistake" of asking a sales lady if I could get some help. She barked at me and said "Ask someone else who is NOT on the phone!" With that, she picked up the phone and placed a call. I was so stunned by her rudeness that I could no longer think of why I was there. In a few minutes, a young man came over but by then I lost the enthusiasm to buy. I had been a customer of Cutting Corners since it opened years ago. After the owner died, his daughter took over and made a lot of changes. It's a pretty store that now offers furniture. I did notice the same inventory I saw there last fall, so I'm thinking business must be down. Perhaps I'm not the only person treated this way! Hmmm? read more

I didn't even know this place existed. I came by to buy fabric for my ottoman to have it cover. They have a good selection of fabric and all at a good price. This is interior type fabric. They are a little too thick to be made into casual outfits. They have a good variety and I like the clearance section in the back! I got two yards from not on clearance section for $10.99 per yard. Love Cutting Corners! Loyal customer for life. Bought 18 yards for a small sofa, but my re-upholstery guy showed me some imperfections in it. It was actually just the nature of the fabric, but Cutting Corners offered to take it back, or give me additional fabric to avoid imperfections showing. Love that customer service! Love Cutting Corners! I always know I can go in here and find exactly what I need with really great service and people who work there. The choices are very satisfying to be able to always come in and no I can find what I want there. Their prices are really really good and I'll keep coming back for many more years to come. We had a vision when we walked in the door my daughter and I. We're creating some things for her new apartment moving to New York City. This is the Go-to place for discount fabrics. Its not as large as some of the warehouse outlets, but the selection is vast and the prices are the cheapest I've ever come across, mostly around $10/yard (average price), for the same designer fabrics found at Fabric Factory and similar places for $25-$60/yard. They will even accept returns of cut fabric (minimum yardage). CC is the only place I go now. Check it out. read more

So very updated! So many changes! Way more North Dallas feel now and I've mixed emotions about that. Gone is the upscale warehouse feel, replaced by a huge cutback in the rolls and more special order instead. They have been influenced by Magnolia-mania as well with not only her rugs, but a huge amount of farmhouse (albeit upscale) decor. Some extremely impressive import items as well. Found my client a set of matted and framed botanicals for about half retail! Fabric prices have crawled up a bit but not unreasonably like others nearby. Biggest classy addition was easily the extremely upscale faux florals. Best I've seen and loved the French market feel of displays. Still at the top of my short list for fabrics. read more

This place has everything! I was on a mission to find three unique fabrics to create a whimsical look to reupholsterer my vintage French sette. I needed a variety of cordanating fabrics to make accent pillows & create custom drapes as well. Then of course, I needed an assortment of matching trims to complete the overall French look. The employes were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Their large selection is very organized and displayed in a way that you don't waist time trying to find that special fabric that your on a mission to find. GREAT store with WIDE selection of current fabrics and lots of TRIM. The store personnel are welcoming and helpful...but not TOO helpful--in other words, they get it that sometimes it takes a long time to see all the choices and make decisions. And the PRICES are terrific. Do yourself a favor, and don't buy fabric for home decor without shopping Cutting Corners. (I even buy some fabric here for dressmaking.....) read more

The employees of the store are rude! They do not like to help people and they do not like to help with figuring out yardage. I have personally ordered fabric from this store which comes out of Houston. Houston and the Dallas store have lost the shipments, they have promised dates for delivery and then not been able to deliver. I have had multiple issues with getting fabric. If they dont have the yardage you need dont order fabric from them because if you do you may not ever recieve it or it may come in months late. And they make you pay up front for something you may never receive! At best all they are willing to offer as customer service is a refund. S read more
