Literally had to correct her on cleaning my sons edge up on one side . Like she was about to leave my son looking crappy . This haircut was not worth $50 bucks . Made my sons edge up look so tacky ! Land the fade was literally one of the worse fades I have ever seen ! I still tipped you $5 to not be an A hole ! But I won't be bringing my kid to your Chair again . Update: I thought they were easy going. Ha was I wrong. Do not be late or they will flat out fire you as a customer. I was late for my appointments 3 or 4 times in 1 year coming every 2 weeks. On my last time I was catching an attitude from the front desk person so I mirrored the attitude and gave it back. Mind you I was called and asked to be moved around by them on an appointment I set several times. Also barber was frequently a few minutes late over her dog and I never minded or said anything bc I get it. So here we are my 4th time to be late and they refuse to call anyone and ask if they could come later like they had done with me in the past. So I'm frustrated but thinking ok no big deal I'll come tomorrow. WRONG. The barber texts me and says they are charging me for a full haircut and that Cutthroat is probably not a good fit for me to get my haircut at. Before you ask the question I regularly tipped in the mid 20% range above my $55 dollar haircut. Obviously I had a problem with paying $55 for NOT getting a haircut. So I pushed back. Yesterday, I had an appointment at 12pm for beard and hair and I was late 12 minutes. When I arrived they asked me to choose only one service to which I declined and so they charged me a cancellation fee. I'm usually not the kind of customer who likes to give bad reviews but honestly what happened later was even worse. Instead of maybe a call or something like "we apologize come another day and we'll make it up for you, the owner/manager posted a reply to my review that said I'm not the kind of customer they want? Just because I was 2 minutes late according to his policy. I ended up in another place which was a lot nicer and was treated very well without rushing me or looking at their clock. Tagged along with my husband, he had his hair buzz trimmed and his beard trimmed. Staff was friendly and took us in right when his appointment was scheduled for, no wait time. They have comfortable couches and seating for those not getting their hair trimmed. Staff wears masks at all times and so do customers (except when getting their facial hair trimmed). Great shop, have been many times, great service from the booking to the front desk, music, to the barber,,,,but during the power outage from the storm on 5/16/24 I was in need of a clean up for my daughters engagement party,,the owner was there cleaning up and I just asked if any of her locations happen to be open,,,she said no but asked what I needed, with her cordless clippers she helped me out and saved the day. This type of service is why I will always be a customer, she didn't have to take her time to do so. I appreciated it more than she knows. My bf came in for a haircut and a beard trim and this place was amazing! He can't stop talking/showing off his beard to me and his friends because of it. But I am so glad he found a perfect place because he had been searching around for a long time. Brandy was his person and she did such a great job in helping him out with the fade and the trim. He went in with no idea of how he envisions his style, but Brandy helped him throughout the entire appointment. The place was very nicely decorated and busy, which is expected for a popular place. Had hair 4" below my chin and told him I wanted 1" taken off so I could still have a low ponytail. 4 inches off later, I can't pull it back into a ponytail and it's extremely uneven. Beard trim looks good except for how uneven it is. I'm going to have to fix it myself. A total rip off for the price paid. I even paid extra for a 'Master Barber' (Kyle). Don't go here! My husband has tried this Cutthroat multiple times and every time it's inconsistent. They cut his hair too short most of the time, even after reminding them not to. For the same price of level 2 stylists, you can get a much better stylish men's haircut in Los Angeles. And in Los Angeles, they are consistently good, no matter who you go to. Despite being a longtime customer of cutthroat barber I will no longer return after being profiled by its owner and told never to come back. This likely arose after I got my beard trimmed and almost walked out by accident being distracted on my phone. I paid for the service on the spot and profusely apologized for my distraction, even though my card is on file and they could've charged my card if I in fact had accidentally walked out. I thought all was cool until I get an email saying they no longer want me coming back because I'm not "a fit." That's usually code for racial discrimination and I will not stand for that. This was a place where I routinely got my beard service and paid generous tips. It's sad that not even my barber seemed to have defended my character. He not only gave me great suggestions but is a true artist when it comes to the fade. I will no longer overpay at a salon when I can get a much better cut at Cutthroat as well as a chill environment. You get that nostalgia of an old school barber shop but with a contemporary, trendy feel. From what I've seen, every barber in there really knows what they are doing and they enjoy doing it. Perhaps one of the worst customer service experiences I can recall. The long and short of it, I attempted to book an appointment by phone on numerous occasions without an answer, I left a voicemail to book an appointment and it wasn't returned, I booked an appointment online and due to family coming into town for the holidays, I went online to reschedule the appointment for a later time on the following day, the website didn't work properly and I couldn't reschedule. After missing the appointment that I tried to reschedule numerous times, my credit card was charged $55. I called this location yet again, and finally spoke with a human being, explained my situation, even offered to eat the $55 charge for a discount on a new appointment -!: was told, "I will talk to the barber and get back to you." As you've probably guessed, no one ever contacted me, Cutthroats took my money, and I'm certain if they respond to this post, they'll point to their "no-call/no-show" policy, despite the fact that it's nearly impossible based on my experience to call or contact anyone at cutthroats and get a response. 1 star. I had been going to the 19th street location for a while and was very pleased, but I won't be going back. My barber told me that he had Covid recently and also was unvaccinated the entire time I had been seeing him. He obviously doesn't care about the health and safety of his clients, and obviously the owners don't require the barbers to follow common public health guidelines. Took me a few weeks to book an appointment, because the demand here is so high. Ended up having to work late, so I missed what would have been my first appointment. I wasn't able to use my phone to give notice so I was a "no-call, no-show" which in Cutthroat land means you get charged the full-price of what you reserved. It's in the small-print, I have no recourse, I get it.. but this isn't a common practice. I'm here to tell you, if it's even a remote possibility that the same thing could happen to you, just don't go here. Overpriced, self-important, and impossible to book on short notice. Take my advice and just got to Bird's Barbershop down the street. Walked in, got my haircut and beard trimmed perfectly by a former Cutthroat employee, and it cost me less (with $15 tip included) than not showing up at Cutthroat did. The only reason I am giving this place one star is because zero is not an option. I scheduled a 10 am appointment with Rafael. I arrived promptly at 9:55 am and was asked to wait ten minutes for him to finish with another customer. Three other customers walked in after me and were seated in chairs and had their hair cut in the forty five minutes I waited. At 10:35 I asked how much longer and was told another ten minutes. I left the shop without getting a cut. This place may have a good feel for a barber shop but the employees were totally unprofessional. I really don't understand why I spent $35 for a low bald fade that wasn't even a low fade and definitely not even bald at all. $35 dollars for a rushed haircut that gets finished in UNDER 30 minutes time? What a waste of money. I'm pretty unsatisfied. They didn't offer me a beverage like everyone is is claiming, they didn't even wash my hair to get all of the trimmings out of it? Wtf am I paying that much for?!? I have no issue paying a good amount of money for a quality haircut and service, but they do not give good service. It's so bad that I didn't even get a haircut because well.....they had to cancel my apt less than a day before because Brent made a mistake with the apts. I had high hopes that I would see an awesome barber with several years of experience since I had to book my original apt over 3 weeks ago. Instead I was asked to either reschedule (3weeks later), get a cut with someone I didn't want or inconvenience myself/work to get in with another barber whom I still didn't want. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful (canceling my apt via text). Oh and Brent did nothing to render the situation, I had to email and make phone calls myself just to find all this out.
