I bought a pair of shoes, got home, and they felt tight even though I had tried them on in the store. Took them back and with the help of the salesman, found shoes that fit much better and were better for my needs. Realized I didn't have the receipt for the shoes I wanted to return, and I was told no problem. They looked up the payment history at the register. Also, I was told about getting a 15% discount for signing up for their app. Got asked if I was retiring (do I look old enough to retire?) while cashing out.

Still, they had a look and were able to Macgyver a fix using other parts. Tried to pay, but "no charge". Wow. Thanks! I mentioned to the fellow that I have to keep my current boots going since I have an unusual size, and that replacing them isn't even an option due to my nearly-impossible-to-find size (and I am always looking). Well it turns out they had one set in my size, and because they were a couple of years old, I got 40% off - which is cheaper than pro deals I have access to. It was my first visit. I absolutely adore this little shop. Indeed it is wonderfully eclectic, soulful, and remarkable. I'm not a gal, so the clothes didn't interest me except for the fact I want to tell my gal friends and my daughters about it. But I did really love all the art pieces, quality home decor items and gifts. It was so fun to discover the treasures they have here. They also carry made in Washington and locally themed items. They also have a really nice selection of quality special day cards. Our group kind of took over the place like a flash mob for a few minutes as we came through the door. But the owner and help were totally welcoming, gracious, friendly, and we all had a good laugh and conversation. The one thing that really stands out to me is the variety and quality of the items they have for sale. I can totally see why they got so many 5 star reviews here on Yelp. The Birches Habitat is everything I love about small businesses done right. If you have that special someone in your life that you really want to gift with something out of the ordinary. Something that's special, unique, well done and made, this is the place!

Unfortunately, the prices are also larger than other, similar shops in the area (Carousel in Snoqualmie, for example). There's more stock here, as a result of its size, and it's collection is arguably better curated and more stylish than most, depending on your taste. It's the kind of place my wife and I would love to shop, if things were a bit more affordable, but YMMV. Still, Birches Habitat is definitely worth checking out for the style-conscious consumer, and absolutely the best boutique in North Bend! You may find better deals at the outlet mall, but you're not likely to find anything as swanky!
