Cutillo's is still a very nice place but 11 years later, the online menu still has different prices that actual, and items that are no longer available. Is it that hard to fix an online menu? I really don't know but it is funny that that is what I wrote more than a decade ago. In any case, here is what we thought- Cheesecake- A- (made in house and quite tasty) Strip Steak- A (good portion, flavorful, and perfectly cooked) Risotto - C- (flavorless, tasted very much like plain rice) Ambiance - A Noise level - C (only because of a large cackling party) Service - A- (efficient) Shrimp Scampi - B (a bit overcooked but a good buttery sauce) Value - B+ Overall, we will return. read more

I just don't get it!! Place was packed, couldn't get it only if you had a reservation. Salad was iceberg lettuce. Scallops that I ordered were fishy smelling. Atmosphere very dated!!! I would not go back! read more

Tired, old, dirty and in bad need of a face-lift. Filthy floors, deteriorating ceiling, old, dirty chairs and furniture...run down in general. Food is average and expensive. Regrettably, not the fine dining experience it's supposed to be. read more

Cutillo's is a unique fine dining restaurant with an atypical setup but still provides a good fine dining experience. In a way Cutillo's caters to the entire rural area its located within. As a restaurant it is located on Farmers Mill Road. Not too far from the highway but still significantly deep in the woods so to speak. Cutillo's as far as I remember it never was too populated except maybe for Valentines Day when local people collectively wanted to eat somewhere nice which to me signals that the clientele eat only sporadically here. The restaurant itself is more of a house as well with the restaurant portion being on the bottom floor. This is actually quite nice and adds to the cozy feeling of the place (along with being in the woods.) The interior is quite cute and homey. It reminds me of my old country home's dining room with the wooden furniture. The food here is quite good. When I came here with a group a lot of us got the duck special they had and it was fantastic. The duck was finely portioned, juicy, and the tangerines they serve with it pair great with the duck meat. They also serve good pasta here that some of us really enjoyed. There is a big veal menu we noticed but we are not fans of that that kind of cuisine so we we have no comments on that. The waitresses here were friendly and again homey. A lot of restaurants around the area higher teenager kids to do the waiting but here the staff are professionals. Its a very lovely place to eat at. If there is one complaint we could have is we felt the meals were a little much but overall it is worth coming here to eat and enjoy a relaxing day out. read more

Ok Yelp fans here is an excellent restaurant. Plain and simple as that. Although when you go there is nothing plain and simple about it. It oozes great food and atmosphere. Tucked away on Farmers Mills rd. I am very partial since I grew up locally. That being said I still travel back to my neighborhood and patronize my local favs. This will definitely be one for your foodie side. Every dish is expertly prepared and the the taste is off the hook. Kudos to this awesome family & chef owned restaurant!!!!! Love it!! read more

I'll admit, I was skeptical of this place after walking in - "nursing home chic" is how I'd describe the decor. It was also nearly completely empty at 7pm on a Friday night. Nonetheless, I trusted the reviews and stopped in here with my mom for my first actual indoor restaurant experience since COVID began. And I am so glad I did. Our waitress was super nice (can't remember her name, sorry!). We ordered Hendrinks martinis and a glass of wine, both of which were delicious and ENORMOUS (and under 8 bucks!!!!) And the food...my god. First of all, never underestimate the power of HOT bread. Having that delivered to our table within 5 minutes set a very good tone for the rest of the meal. I ordered the veal milanese, which was hands down the best I've ever had in my life... so buttery, so tender, so so delicious. My mom got the veal marsala, which she also loved. The sides are fine, nothing to rave about but the veal is really the belle of the ball anyway. I can't wait to come back when the weather gets warmer and we can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view. So glad I found this place so close to home!! read more

My family of 12 enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Cutillo's. We were comfortably seated in a room all to ourselves which was greatly appreciated allowing my 16 month old granddaughter & her parents some freedom. Service was terrific and food, delicious. We were visiting the area and ate here with another couple. The atmosphere is very quirky as this is a restaurant in a private home filled with family photos. The staff trys to be helpful but they are set in their ways. I love veal and ordered veal a limone. While the quality of meat was quite good, the portion size (paper thin) tiny pieces were embarrassing. It was slightly over cooked and accompanied by steamed tasteless overcooked broccoli heads and corn on the cob pieces. They tasted and looked as if they were "sourced" from a gigantic frozen bag. Someone else ordered the salmon and only ate half saying it did not taste fresh. The two other people in our party said their entrees were OK. The desert, a chocolate covered ice cream was the best. The wine was reasonably priced. Bottom line this is not a place for those who love farm to table cuisine. It reminded me of family dinners in the 1960s before most Americans learned to appreciate fine dining. At the risk of sounding snarky, even the flowers in the tiny vase were artificial. The server said "OK I hope you enjoyed the ambiance of the flowers but now they need to go so you can have your bread". The whole experience was weird and kind of sad but there were other larger parties celebrating birthdays that seemed at home. read more

I am thinking we went on a bad night but nonetheless it only takes one bad trip to deter someone from not returning to spend money and try something again. I made reservations for my wife and I along with my two year old son. When we got their at 6 no one was there but we still were seated on table in from the door in the outer section. Sort of like we were being kept separate from the dining area. It was cold, boring, and isolated. My wife ordered the the veal. The worst thinly prepared veal ever. It was so thin that it was just bread. There was virtually no meat at all. My dish and my son's, both of which I forgot what we ordered. It was not worth remembering and it wasn't as bad as the veal dish that night worth remembering. Look, the establishment looks nice in pictures. We didn't get to see it because of where we were sorted. The staff was friendly. But the food was horrible to alright at best. We even had to ask for bread. We will not be returning on our dime at any time. read more

My husband and I were ckg out this app to find someplace new to check out. We decided to venture into Carmel and check out this restaurant I found on Yelp. The Ambiance is absolutely gorgeous. And the food definitely did not disappoint. Have not enjoyed a meal like this in a long long time. The waitress Sandy was informative and very down to earth. She takes great pride in her work enviorment which was refreshing. Starting off with the homemade bread sent my taste buds into heaven before the appetizers even arrived. My husband and I shared 2 appetizers. The salad that comes with the meals to be honest was nothing exciting. For dinner my husband had the Hungarian goulash. I'm a vegetarian, & the meat smelled so amazing I almost relapsed. Lol. I had the eggplant parmigian and pasta. Awesome. Portion was large enough for me to take home and share with my husband the next night. For dessert we shared an apple cobbler with the vanilla gelato. A wonderful treat. Place is immaculate, service great and prices reasonable. Looking forward to another visit. read more

Came here last weekend, I was a guest in a party of 11, graduation dinner. We were here right at opening, 4pm on a glorious sunny Sunday. The setting, an old farmhouse with lovely terrace and gardens, was just perfect for the event. Inside, it was perfect, too. Although another reviewer said it needed a makeover, I beg to differ. The owners live on site, it is their home. It reminded me of old American or Euro- country inns I have gone to in the past, before fine dining became an obsession in this country. The kind of inns that were always the standard by which a good dining experience was measured as a whole, not by picking out just one feature such as food or service. This is how I choose to measure this place. After cocktails, wine was ordered and the helpful head waitress brought the selection to my hostess (two half bottles each ordered separately by diners) along with a suggested choice of a full bottle presenting a substantial savings which was gladly accepted. The apps were preordered by my hostess of the day and I did not have any (limiting my carbs), but they were served old world style off of a platter with tongs, the server asking each diner if they cared for one, and returning to the table again to offer seconds until they were gone. Everyone seemed to enjoy. The salad course was not special, but standard. A small serving of tossed green salad was presented to each diner along with a cruet of Italian whose top was almost impossible to remove. Although I can't rave about it, it's purpose was fulfilled -- a breather course, a way to extend our afternoon at table celebrating with good conversation and laughter, toasts and reminiscing. Although it is an Italian restaurant, I ordered the Derby Duck which came perfectly cooked -- crispy crust, ever so slightly pink in the center. The bourbon cherry sauce was a little syrupy for my taste but it was delicious nonetheless. Aside it was a braised red cabbage full of flavor, again a little too sweet. Instead of the potatoes I substituted escarole which, although it wasn't really paired well with my meal it was a low carb alternative. I'm glad I got it, it was classically prepared as Italians do, and it was enough to share with my brother who found it delicious as well. The service was colorful! Our head waitress was most definitely in charge and I would categorize the style as more Germanic than Italian. It was, however, a big part of the fun experience we had and we loved her for it. I'm sure she was appropriately rewarded as she must be used to. We had moved our reservation up from 5pm to 4pm, and when my hostess apologized to her for the inconvenience of arriving right at opening she replied, "Don't worry, I'm here now and all is well". The two other servers were totally competent but clearly under her authority and were on their toes all afternoon. All the lovely details of classic table service were there; crumb removal, underplates, silverware replacement, glasses refilled when low, proper revereance paid to the diners. A perfect opportunity for my 13-year old to practice her "fancy" table manners, she looked at me and blushed slightly when a secondary server addressed her to say "May I clear, Miss?" I was proud when she asked our head waitress what type of meat was in the meat ravioli, and upon the waitresses return with the information (beef and veal), she politely declined (no baby animal slaughter for her), and ordered the penne marinara instead. A couple of years ago she wouldn't have been bold enough to ask. After dinner was cleared, a nice touch was a few bowls of cut up fruit with toothpicks for the table, for nibbling before dessert. This is something my mother would have done at home, and another nice extension of our time while finishing our wine. The cake was preordered by my hostess from a bakery and delivered to the place , not a restaurant selection -- cannoli creme cake -- delish! Coffee service and more lounging. A very beautiful day and dining experience, everyone left satisfied, happy and relaxed. read more

I absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere is just like being at grandma's house. It's cute and cozy inside looking out to a beautifully manicured patio. The food was delicious. I had the butternut squash soup (which was risky because I don't really like soup) and the chicken pecans and apple entrée. Both were fabulous...oh and the homemade bread is to die for! We first walked into this charming country house family owned restaurant close to ten years ago, when we were looking for a home in Putnam County. I cannot count the number of times we've dined, lunched and entertained there since. Anyone who cannot find a pleasant dining experience with an excellent menu here, just doesn't understand fine dining. For romantic anniversaries to grandson's birthdays, there is an appropriate venue at Cutillo's. Also, if you have any special requests not on the menu, the two excellent chefs will make every effort to comply. Their squab in the fall and winter, their spicy scallops, their seafood stuffed portobellos are incomparable gourmet delights. We often just drop in for a brandy, coffee and dessert and are as welcome as a dinner patron. Without argument, top rate! read more
