I can see why it's always hard to find a parking spot in their lot! While there is no shortage of pizzerias around the area, Gappy's is my go to particularly for their sausage, pepper and onion pizza. I'm not sure what kind of sausage they use but they have me hooked! My only complaint would be that the drive home from the restaurant with the intoxicating smell of their delicious pizza is absolutely excruciating - I have to try so hard to wait until I get home to eat it! Are you kidding? Pizza? Shame, shame, shame. Maybe pizza soup! Forget the paper plates they should offer you straws with this slop. I can't believe this actually came out of their oven. What really amazes me is that they let this mutation of a pizza out their door! When I got home and opened the box I think I scared it because I saw it move a few times. My wife was afraid to go near it. No way were we eating this thing. I took it in the backyard and put it out of it' misery. Should have sent a biopsy to the lab for testing! It's the quintessential dive bar / restaurant but it serves amazing Italian food and the best pizza, all in oversized proportions. Don't expect any ambiance, trendy food, pretentiousness, political correctness, or "pick your protein" menu though. It's old school here, with solid, honest food, everything homemade. Friend Mikey has a summer home in the area and knows all the best places. He wasn't kidding about Gappy's. Entering, I felt just at home right away. With my home in Queens, I'm mighty picky about my pizza. Gappy's did not disappoint. My slice of regular was soo huge. I felt like I was in the middle of pizza street in NYC. Mikey suggested having the slice cut in half, being it was just too big to handle without dripping. Careful, HOT cheese alert. The crust was surprisingly crisp and the pizza properly seasoned. I also felt so comfortable checking out the bar and dining rooms. I posted some pics. I can't wait to stop back to try all the entrees. In closing folks, The pizza was hot ,fresh and crisp. Dinner was very good. We all liked our meals and the portions were huge. Service was friendly but with an almost full dining room, it was a bit discombobulated- we were missing silverware and the wrong sodas came out, but the effort was there. Be prepared for limited parking and a wet, muddy, graveled road. Despite this, we expect to return thus the four stars. Ower-The parking lot really needs to be paved with spaces delineated. As is, part of the parking problem is people parking too far from other cars thereby taking away needed spaces. We've seen this both weekends and weekdays. read more

Excellent service, excellent food enjoyed it very much when I say I like a lot of garlic they put a lot of garlic on my steak. And the portions the size of a full dishes are unbelievable. And very cost effective. Bathroom was a little cold and as the restaurant as it emptied out got cold so bring a jacket. read more

Stopped in for a calzone and received a raw, uncooked, sloppy pile of dough and cheese. Didn't realize until I arrived home. Tried putting it in the oven to cook it myself, but the pre-made crusty parts got burned while the interior was still not cooked. Inedible. Did I mention that it wasn't made to order? We ordered from Gappy's quite a bit during quarantine. The pizza is always fantastic. The salads are really good too. I especially love the Greek salad. They throw fresh bread in with the meals which is nice. The one disappointing thing was the red sauce served with the pasta (pasta comes with an entree). As an Italian, sauce is everything and their red sauce just doesn't cut it. You can tell that they probably use the big cans of sauce and don't add any seasoning or "love" to it... so here's my boyfriend's go to move: get vodka sauce instead and it's delish. Healthy meal? Stopped in here on our way up to VT from Long Island. Was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Got a grandma slice, a mini pepperoni roll, and a mini chicken roll. We just left Gappy's. We were there for 1 hour and 50 minutes! They were apologetic and gave us some desserts and a couple of drinks on the house. Who ever is running the place has no clue. Been going to Gappy's for years. It is a distance from my house and only go occasionally. The food is good "old time " Italian American. The pizza is consistently good and the dinner items ( pasta, parmigiana/ veal ,chicken etc ) are always flavorful and plentiful. They have a bar which allows us to have a glass of wine with dinner. If you want a neighborhood Italian restaurant that is always good try Gappy's. I wish we lived closer but it's great to know it's there when we want exceptional pizza and Italian food. read more

Gappy's Pizzeria was a fantastic pizza place growing up around Kent. Even after coming back to check them out the pizza is not disappointing and it is still a local staple. The pizza pies you can get here can be quite big and a single large will fill two people and have leftovers to take home. They serve traditional pies, white pies and also Sicilian pies. For the traditional pies the bread is fluffy and is always properly cooked. The pizzas are made with plenty of good cheese and sauce as well. For all my time eating pizza here I don't remember a single time they disappointed with the quality of the pizzas. The cost of the pies is OK though you have to be careful with the toppings. The toppings can rise up the cost of the pizza a lot so be careful of that. They don't do delivery here but they do offer take out. Since its a rural pizzeria that makes sense, and for me growing up our family could always just drive over within 10 minutes to grab a pie. One of the really nice thing about Gappy's is that it caters to a variety of clienteles but is still family friendly. They do have a bar inside but the attendants are not rowdy and the dinning area just across from the bar frequently has parents with their kids there. Overall Gappy's is a great place. For a lot of people its the most convenient pizza place they can get to and its thankfully a really good one at that. read more

The other room is what's considered the dining room that can seat a big family or several smaller families. & then there's a 3rd room that's the to-go area, & where you can pay for your meals.
