Very simple! The Best Pizza.. Awesome meatballs sandwich or even just the meatballs without the bread. Everything is fresh. I can recommend this place all the time. Service is great too. Nice local vibe. The place is clean. Nice job guys!

Was in the area and gave this place a try ordered a pizza half Hawaiian half meat lovers, this pizza was so good the flavor on the sauce was great as well as the toppings, have to say pizza usually give me heart burn and this did not, I will be coming back for more.

Big food served to local townies in an old converted house at the end of the exit ramp of the interstate summarizes Gappys in one sentence. It's the quintessential dive bar / restaurant but it serves amazing Italian food and the best pizza, all in oversized proportions. Don't expect any ambiance, trendy food, pretentiousness, political correctness, or "pick your protein" menu though. It's old school here, with solid, honest food, everything homemade. Gappys is the perfect pit stop off I-84. You'll love it. Arrive very hungry.

Welcome to Gappy's bar and dining rooms.

Hi folks, Welcome to Gappy's Pizza on 52 in upstate Carmel, NY. Hungry on your road trip?Just take the Ludingtonville Rd. Exit off 1- 84 and hang left on 52. Friend Mikey has a summer home in the area and knows all the best places. He wasn't kidding about Gappy's. Entering, I felt just at home right away. With my home in Queens, I'm mighty picky about my pizza. Gappy's did not disappoint. My slice of regular was soo huge. I felt like I was in the middle of pizza street in NYC. Mikey suggested having the slice cut in half, being it was just too big to handle without dripping. Careful, HOT cheese alert. The crust was surprisingly crisp and the pizza properly seasoned. I also felt so comfortable checking out the bar and dining rooms. I posted some pics. I can't wait to stop back to try all the entrees. In closing folks, The pizza was hot ,fresh and crisp. The genuine hospitality here..priceless. Hungry no more we continued on our way. Yeah..we were so happy after stoppin at Gappys.

Excellent service, excellent food enjoyed it very much when I say I like a lot of garlic they put a lot of garlic on my steak. And the portions the size of a full dishes are unbelievable. And very cost effective. Bathroom was a little cold and as the restaurant as it emptied out got cold so bring a jacket.

This is dough, not cheese. They sent me a raw, uncooked, premade calzone.

We actually went to Aversano's by mistake …read more.. But am so glad we made a mistake! We had multiple friends in town and after touring our museum in Patterson and studio at Mt Ebo, we frequently go to another Italian restaurant 5 minutes down the street. Thought that's where we were going when I searched on Yelp but Aversano's came up #1. We had an amazing dinner. The baked oysters, calamari and pepperoni trey was delicious that we all shared. The short rib was one of the best I have ever had. Everyone at the table bragged about their meal. They even had port wine from the best winery in Porto, Portugal that we personally visited. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and checked on us consistently. Many tour this area: this is a great place to bring guests for dinner. Parking is super easy being in a shopping center. Will absolutely be back again.

Went to Aversonos on an early Saturday evening for dinner with my wife…read more Started off with the Asian calamari and parm garlic bread which were both outstanding. Wife had the veal cutlet parm and spaghetti. She loved the veal but was a little sketchy with the spaghetti, said it tasted a little off. I had the rigatoni Bolognese with a side of meatballs. I am usually not a big fan of Italian meatballs but there meatballs are actually pretty good. (My wife does make better) Their rigatoni are short, fat little things that are outstanding. Good gravy. Service was excellent and knowledgeable. Atmosphere was a little noisy (bridal shower in the back room) but other than that, I would not hesitate to go back.

If you're going to get a flat tire, I strongly recommend that you get one on NY-22, right in front…read moreof this deli, as I did. The staff are lovely (a man and his mother) and speak Italian to one another. They make their own mozzarella, soup, and at least some pastries, if not all. Cannoli are filled to order and excellent. Another pastry (crostata?), cut into squares with a shortbread-like crust, cherry jam and chocolate was even more spectacular and something that I *must* come back for. The man told me it was homemade. The sfogliatelle pastry was a little tough and stale, but the thick, ricotta-rich filling was delicious. To be fair, these things have a very short shelf life. I gave it a few minutes in the toaster oven when I finally made it home and the texture was far improved. The son patiently answered my questions [e.g. how to properly pronounce "sfogliatelle," how much the fresh mozzarella costs (about $11 / lb)] and the mother kindly warmed up some pasta e fagioli for me. Sandwiches seem to be the focus here -- the menu is vast! -- but I sorely needed the warm-you-from-the-inside-out comfort of soup at that moment. The rich broth full of red beans, potatoes, and carrots absolutely hit the spot. It's too bad that it took a flat tire to get me in this place. We've been driving by for years and have clearly been missing out all this time!
