He forewarned us that due to the thin material, there might be wrinkles, but he said he'd try his best to eliminate them. He promised to deliver it to our home in Cathedral City at no extra charge. They did deliver the finished product and yes, there were wrinkles, but it's something we were expecting, and we can live with it. We thought the price was reasonable. Overall, the service was good and we would use them again, if not in a rush.

Instead of apologizing and trying to make things right and keep my business, due to their poor framing and as a former long-time customer, he states that I was "permanently banned" because of alleged "repeated incidents of being disrespectful" to employees. I strongly dispute that characterization. At no time was I disrespectful to any of their employees and had been doing a lot of business with the previous owners close to 10 years..until they sold Mitre & Bevel to Jason. I did firmly object to receiving an improperly fitted frame for the third time and to being told that my canvas was the problem rather than the frame. More importantly, the owner's response does not acknowledge or address the central facts of my review: Did Jason at Mitre & Bevel measure my canvas himself, with me present? Yes. Was the resulting frame opening too small for the canvas to fit? Yes. Was this the third time I experienced this problem with frames they made for me? Yes. Was I told that they routinely "shave" rabbets when they are too small? Yes. Did I request that the frame be properly remade rather than altered after the fact? Yes. Did the owner instead choose to refund my deposit? Yes. And was the same canvas subsequently framed correctly and without difficulty by another professional framing business in town? Yes. Those are the issues my initial January review highlights. Rather than addressing any of those specific points, the owner's response attempts to shift the discussion to a false allegation about my behavior that I categorically dispute. Readers can decide for themselves whether Jason's response adequately addresses the detailed frame workmanship problems described in my review. I stand by my account of my bad experiences and by my decision, after three unsuccessful framing jobs with Mitre & Bevel, to take my professional artwork elsewhere to be framed properly.
