So cultured people, this is the real deal. I moved to the desert from L.A. a few years ago but for…read morewhatever reason this gallery was not on my radar. Even though the lettering all over it is so in your face. I stopped in for a quick browse but it turned into the long kind. I had a serious gasp when I found a spectacular Andy Warhol that I had never seen before and lingered over it perhaps more than I should since I wasn't in that price range today. Although the price was in line for the value. I chatted with Jessie and he was very down to earth with great stories about Warhol. I was impressed with the well curated pieces that did not disappoint based on the artist names screaming from their exterior wall. I did fall in love with a piece that was not right for my home, but considered it. An incredible piece of mirrored artistry that ever so slightly resembled a matador, if you knew how to look at it. Gah...still thinking about it. Please, if you love art and are not shy with investing in it, do stop by. You won't be hounded by salespeople, but if you wish to engage you will gain in education about the works you are fascinated by and the artists who borne them.

I purchased two statuettes at their Palm Springs location. I was under the impression that these…read morewere art, considering they were being sold at an art gallery and had their descriptions on their website. What a rude awakening when I, found these items on Amazon for $20 apiece as opposed to the $140 I was quoted and the negotiated price of $100 apiece, that I paid. The following day I returned the "art" and have a receipt for doing so however, return was never processed ... I have tried to contact them through every means necessary, the website, email ...Upon calling them they told me to call a one 800 number and hung up on me. I am absolutely gob smacked that an ART gallery would sell a mass produced trinket under the guise of art. As an artist, an art enthusiast and collector, I am more than appalled. This is a disgusting display of fraudulence, dishonesty, and frankly theft

I had found an art piece that I liked and unfortunately didn't fit in the spot I needed it to go. (the piece was never delivered) I went back several times (within a year) and just had to buy things I didn't love just to use my credit. When I got down to the last $900 (after a month shy of a year) I asked if they would just refund my $900 and they refused and got very nasty. There is much more nonsense to this post. The bottom line is there is not a lot of selection unless you're really into pop art. I will never shop here again. Lesson learned. Very bad business sense. I will also be letting my friends in Las Vegas know how I was treated. I don't yelp much but felt this needed to be shared.

Our kids' elementary school had a class art project on Dale Chihuly so knowing that the Imago Gallery displayed several of his pieces made for a fun learning experience with the kids. Is this family-friendly? I guess with anything "art" related the content might not be suitable for children. None of the exhibits were bad on this visit but the art does rotate over time. You can always ask the women working there if there's anything of concern. Also, there were a lot of displays at knee level which is something to be aware of if you have toddlers or poorly behaved children. You break you buy and buying would be a several thousand dollar charge. So if your children are well behaved this is a great place for them. - Plenty of free parking - Small Chihuly gift shop

There are a few places that I like to go to while visiting the Coachella Valley and Imago Galleries…read moreis one of them. I know I know people always cringe and think of the Coachella Valley as being a redundant retirement community or just a place that lacks culture. All though I couldn't agree more on some aspects of that I have to say that there are a lot of things in the C.V that will leave one with a different impression. Imago Galleries is one of them. Their opening art receptions have always been good. Though I no longer live in the area the openings in the past have alwas been good. They also participate in the art walk that happens every first Thursday of the month in Palm Desert have always been good. (note: art walk only happens during the cooler season) Imago is located off of Monterrey going toward HWY 74. You can't miss this gallery it is the only self standing beautiful minimal building with an enormous yellow glass sculpture piece done by the artist Dale Chihuly. Inside the gallery is of two levels. The courtyard is also fun to roam around with sculptures outside. It's just fun to come in and walk around. Imago is also within walking distance to El Paseo which boast many high end stores and boutiques and really good restaurants.. Honestly this is the best and most beautiful gallery that I have ever been in. Check their website for hours... http://www.imagogalleries.com/
