Imagine the perfect convergence of art, architecture and nature. 360 degree views of snow-capped mountains surrounded by palm trees. A true Desert Oasis.
Imago Galleries more closely resembles a boutique museum than private art gallery and
is quickly becoming the Desert's premier party venue.
Now offered to luxury brands, corporate event planners and location scouts, the sculpture garden (featuring renowned artist Dale Chihuly) is the perfect locale to view a concert under the stars, dance at a moonlit wedding, and may be used for film or television production.
Celebrate Life in the Desert!
History
Established in 1991.
Founded in 1991, Imago Galleries is considered one of the West Coast's premier contemporary galleries. Often mistaken for a boutique museum, the 18,000-square-foot gallery also has a sculpture garden and terrace. More than an architectural icon, owner Leisa Austin strives for curatorial excellence in bringing groundbreaking exhibitions of the highest caliber to the desert, as Imago Galleries celebrates 24 years on the West Coast art scene.
Meet the Business Owner: Leisa A.
Leisa Austin moved to the Desert from Dallas, Texas in the late eighties where she had worked as an art consultant. Projects included placements within the esteemed Trammell Crow collection, monumental commissions for Children's Medical Center and curatorial responsibilities for the newly built headquarters of Tropicana Products in Bradenton, Florida.
After relocating to the Desert, she opened the original Imago Galleries in downtown Palm Springs in 1991. In 1994, the gallery relocated to El Paseo before purchasing land to build her own space in 1999. The result is a nearly 18,000 square foot space complete with sculpture garden and terrace, which is often described more as a boutique museum than retail gallery due to its significant architectural impact and scale. Imago Galleries exhibits the works of nationally and internationally recognized artists, such as Jennifer Bartlett, Dale Chihuly, Peter Halley, Rachel Lee Hovnanian, Jeremy Kidd, Donald Sultan, William Wegman among others.
