I also love that I am usually in an out of her chair within 2 hours. I have armpit length thick semi relaxed hair and Lawanda does a truly fantastic job in getting my roots straight and flat! This was dealbreaker for me in finding a stylist, as I don't like puffy or stiff roots. She also is tremendously skilled at detangling and blow drying! My hair is thick which tangles and knots easily after washing. Lawanda takes her time and I don't experience hair loss or breakage during this process , as I have with other stylist. Overall my hair is healthy and is growing more. Lastly, I love the private mini salon suite that really allows the stylist to focus on the client without a lot of extra activity. I highly recommend Lawanda!!

Years later I've barely had anyone touch my hair other than her. If you want a specific style, take her a pic and she'll surpass your expectations! If you're looking to get some beautiful color, this lady is a chemist! She will make a color specifically to fit you, your personality and your lifestyle! Keisha is extremely knowledgeable about what's best for your hair and she WILL NOT to anything to compromise the integrity of her work, as well as the possibility of damaging your hair. For example, I had surgery which required anesthesia. I wanted to get a relaxer shortly after the doctor cleared me for driving (~2wks) and Keisha shut that down real quick by telling me, "No suga, you can't get that yet, the anesthesia is still in your system and getting a relaxer at that time can damage hair, you're going to have to wait a while longer".... and wait I did. The drive was rough coming from Arlington to Maryland, but that's a no-brainer. Off rush-hour hours though, this would be worth the drive from VA, DC, or other parts of MD.

Her salon is beautifully decorated and she has the nicest touches for the discerning clients. Ferrero Rocher chocolates. They fancy. I have my own wigs that are very good hair quality and my stylist expertly cut, layered and styled my wig. Then she used the blow dryer and flat iron to put it in a very nice style. It was very beautiful and I felt that she did exactly as I asked. I will definitely be going back. She also washed my hair, conditioned it, blow dried, applied essential oils to my scalp and cornrowed my hair. I was a very happy client. I went back and my experience was just as great as it was the first time. This time I had an early appointment and Mery arrived before my appointment time and started on my head straight away. No settings up, or prepping necessary. She is very reliable and respectful of her client's time. I really appreciate her. She's very mature and good natured. Today I brought a different favorite wig in and she washed it and dried it. Then she customized the fit to my head and ears. Typically I don't cut or customize my wigs for fear of ruining them. But Mery is a skilled expert when it comes to wig care and wig installation. After washing my hair and cornrowing it, she applied the wig cap, sprayed the cap with an appropriate matching tint to look like my scalp and installed my wig. Then she hot curled it and made it look lovely. I'm so glad I met a great stylist with great business skills and such a high standards business model. I wish more people and businesses stood on the principles of professionalism, dedication, and good customer service like Cocktail of Beauty. It's much needed in the world today.
