The worst experience ever!!!! When I booked the appointment a salon suite was listed however on the confirmation a different address is listed and I pulled up to some apartments. I had a 11 am appt and she wasn't even home. Told me she had a migraine last night and needed to catch a Lyft back to the apartment. I had to wait 30 mins for her to come. 30 minutes into doing my lashes she says she has a family emergency and can't finish my lashes. I was told that she would reach back out to me in 2 days to reschedule me. She never called me back and when I called her she was very nasty and unprofessional on the phone. She didn't have time to call me back but was posting lash specials and advertising a lash class on IG. Don't waste your time or money. If only I could give zero stars.... The owner, Maya Turner, is the epitome unprofessionalism. She is a poor communicator. I've sent her repeated unanswered text messages, emails, IG messages. I had an appointment for lash extensions today at 11 am and made sure I was there on time as her instagram spells out a strict late policy. If you're 15 mins or more late, she'll charge an additional $25. To my dismay, Maya was not there. What was there, however, was a disgusting suite. There were dirt stains all over the counter, the same counter she keeps her lashes. There were lashes everywhere, including the floor. There was cup of molded ice coffee. The sink also had mold and gunk everywhere. I was in complete shock so I took pictures. Please ladies do not book with this girl. Her work space is an absolute horror. I paid $1,500 for a mentorship class by Maya Turner. I found her on Instagram because I believed she would provide a great mentorship as she promotes on her IG (@lashedbym2). First of all, you will not be getting professionalism from her at all. Due to COVID, you'd think she would be more sanitary. Wrong. Her classes were in her LA apartment in NOHO which was a mess. Dirty dishes in the sink, lashes on the floor, the lash trays laid out in the open on her table along with other mess on her dining table. I sat on her couch taking notes while she went through a PowerPoint presentation that could've gotten done over FaceTime or online. I came from SD to LA just to take her class. She lists on her IG that her classes include a training kit, a certificate, a hands on live model session, and whatnot (I'll include a picture of what she promotes). Very disappointed. We never got to the live model session and we scheduled for January 9th, I messaged her the day before to check in as the second time I met up with her she had woken up late and told me she had forgotten about our training. I didn't want to waste anymore time so I asked for a refund on Sunday Jan 10th. She didn't get back to me until mon Jan 11th, saying she was going to call me and she never did until Jan 13th. Made the excuse that her phone was not working (to excuse the delay in responding) and she is going through a lot of personal things at the time. I asked for a refund and she said she would not guarantee me one as she did not see any wrongdoings in her lack of communication. I was more than patient with her, and once I listed the many things wrong with her "professionalism", she hung up on me abruptly. DO NOT BOOK ANY TRAININGS WITH HER. HORRIBLE MENTOR AND SHE LOVES MAKING NASTY FACES IF YOURE HER CLIENT. You cannot see her making those faces while she works on you as you have your eyes closed, but she made very nasty faces towards first time clients of her while she was "mentoring" me and having me watch her do lashes the first time I met up with her. read more

I TRULY wish i read these before sending this girl a penny.. I have been waiting to work with from last year and I paid her deposit for her training class. Went to DC and she canceled due to the weather. Then later asked me to pay the full balance of the course and she'd come back to complete the class. Since then she has been back in Maryland numerous times and never set anything up with me. I have been reaching out VERY politely and she does not reply or have the decency to just UPDATE you. I was recommended by a friend to take her classic/volume class. My friend WAS a loyal client of hers. I was really excited because I was going to learn two styles for a great price. It was a terrible experience! Class started late. Class confirmation of time & location was not sent until multiple people asked and requested refunds (a day before the class date). The binder I received with all the written material was not hole punched correctly so it was just inserted on the side pocket &I had missing pages. The kit received had very cheap practice materials (that's she uses in her clients btw) and I was also missing some items in the "kit". Kit in quotations because the items were just thrown in a white $1 dollar gift bag. She's not a very good teacher at all. She has poor communication skills. She only wanted cash for the remaining balance so she pocketed $10k and had her boyfriend stuff it in a backpack--sketchy.Her boyfriend was walking around with a camera, which I don't even remember signing off permission for. She offered 6 months of mentorship after the class, but doesn't respond to text or emails. Honestly, I think she does this to rob people. She briefly touched on marketing and business tactics, which I thought was a joke because she's not good in either area. If I could I'd take my money back. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Day of called me 6am changing times from 10 to 230 pm and wanting to cut class short. Demanded cash when it's Saturday and I'm not from Houston. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and definitely dodged a bullet by cutting my losses at 150$ everything everyone else said on here was true smh read more

I can't believe I'm saying this but I've been scammed. After seeing her pictures on IG, I was convinced she was legit and I'm all about supporting black businesses. After texting for a 15% promo, paid a deposit and secured my appointment. It was then rescheduled twice. At that point, I decided to ask for a refund since I didn't know the next time I'd be able to make an appointment. As of now, I have received nothing back. I had the same experience- payment went through immediately ($280) and never got a location to go to, it is not listed on her website or Instagram and she does not reply to her business email, dm's or the phone number in her bio, I had to report her to be refunded on my PayPal which she failed to acknowledge so I literally had to go to my bank to dispute the payment, I will be getting my money back from the bank since the lady who helped me was able to report my transaction as fraud, overall horrible experience I also noticed she was still posting to her Instagram stories during the time my appointment was suppose to take place. I will say when I left I was happy but my Lashes began falling out literally the same day and continued the next day I contacted her, communication was horrible after days I finally was told to come back but honestly I got to the point where I just took the loss and removed the lashes because I was walking around with one full set of lashes on the right and my left eye with maybe 10 lashes handing on. She claims the deposit is non refundable even if you cancel I'm advance due to dire circumstances. She insist that you reschedule just so she can give you the run around since you will NOT actually be receiving the service. She's a scammer! As most people, I found her on ig. I'm moving to LA from TX and needed to find a new lash girl. Booked her weeks in advance. The day of she needed me to come in later, i told her we had to be out by a certain time to meet a realtor. Realtor canceled so i wrote her back and said I'm ok to move down if you need me to. I arrived at apartments, they told me she just left. I called to let her know i was in the lobby. She then text me saying "oh wow you never got my messages they never went through, so i thought you didn't respond." It doesn't take the smartest person to know i didn't respond to an undelivered message. She asked me to come back in an hour. Not being from the area that was beyond annoying. Finally got to her apartment and she had me lay on her dirty couch while she flipped through movies. She took a FaceTime call. She constantly stopped to type on her phone. It took her 3 hrs to do something that looked like party city strips. I even told her i own a salon in Dallas, and we do XTREME lash. She said "yeah I've taken that class". There is no way. Oh it gets better. I have an allergic reaction, send her pictures to see what glue she uses. NO RESPONSE. I had to see a doctor to get a steroid for how swollen my eyes were.
