Excellent job of mounting my new 50 LED tv. Very fast service! I wish it was cheaper to mount a tv and speaker bar, but it just isn't. This place costs about 500 for my job, but it was very professional and quick. Don't be fooled by other places that quote 200... Gonna get nickel and dimed. Update 5/7/14 Had them come out to replace my cheap speaker bar from round 1. Pro tip, don't cheap out on technology! As usual, these guys know what they are doing. He responded my call speedily and provided in his email a detailed menu that covered all service items with corresponding prices. So everything was crystal clear, and it was very easy for me to choose what package I wanted. I was especially pleased that he agreed to come and install the TV @10am on Sunday morning, which allowed me to watch the Euro Soccer Cup final from my brand new TV that started at 11:30am on the day. I absolutely loved working with this company!! When my infant son started pulling himself up on everything, we knew it was time to mount our 55" TV on the wall. TV's are a huge danger to babies and we wanted it done ASAP so we would no longer have to worry! I am up in Marin county and they do a ton of work up here. They said they would arrive on a Saturday between 3-4pm and almost right before 3:00 they were already here. Project: I was having a 55-inch LCD TV installed with AC power and HDMI run into the walls above a fireplace. I called Paul and asked whether he would be able to perform an installation in a week (when the TV was arriving) -- he was really busy due to World Cup coming but said he had another job the same day down in the South Bay and would do what he could to squeeze me in. He called back shortly thereafter and said that it wouldn't be a problem. The process for having him come out was straightforward -- we discussed a couple of options (in-wall, mount type, AC power, etc.). I sent him a few pics of where the television would go. The day of install, he arrived and immediately got to work. He started marking out a rough outline of where the mount would go, confirmed some information and checked with us along the way relating to height, angle, etc. I was pleased with the level of communication. Also, he was very respectful of our 'no shoes' rule -- didn't even have to ask, his team took their shoes off at the door. Really happy with the install. I would be remiss to not explain the single missing star -- completion of the job. I had the paint available to have the wall patched and painted -- unfortunately the hole filler (spackle?) didn't dry quickly enough, so I ended up having to paint. As I abhor painting, I had to be involved to a level that made this slightly less than a turnkey solution. I have little doubt that had I asked them to come back after the spackle had dried to have it finished, they would have obliged, but still... painting... ick. The other part is the lack of finishing options. They provide cover plates, but they are very basic and are essentially 'through-hole' plates. I was hoping to have a more 'plug-and-play' look where there are actual HDMI ports on the walls. This is not offered as an option, and Paul explained that having those sorts of panels can actually reduce the signal. Still as a customer, I might be willing to risk a bit of signal to have the complete look. Thanks to Paul and team. They also insisted if anything was needed in the future they would come remount a bigger tv - patch up the holes if we moved, etc... At no charge. After calling around and "consulting" with Best Buy about mounting an articulating arm, which they had no clue about, I was very doubtful that I could find a trustworthy installer. We were moving into a new house and I was stressed that there was no solution, and using a national company was out of the question. But behold, Yelp to the rescue! I found Custom Plasma Install and all the reviews for Paul are true. He and Andrew arrived promptly at the scheduled time and did the installation of a 46" LED TV using an articulating arm that I wanted in about an hour. These are the points that I loved about the install. 1. Service was excellent. You feel that Paul truly cares and wants you to be happy. 2. Repectful. They took off their shoes when entering the house and vacuumed as they were working to keep the area clean. 3. Craftmanship. Paul came in, measured, surveyed and found the studs, marked where the TV would mount, and asked if the height was good for us, and installed. They made it look easy! That's how you know they are good! 4. Exceptional value. You can't put a price on peace of mind but Paul certainly delivers and does it with a reasonable price. The articulating arm was included in the package price! Nice quality too. A side note: I asked if he could take a look at a mirror and hang it on the wall. Since it's fairly large, I knew it could be a difficult job. Again, the team went to town and hung it in no time. He didn't even charge me! WOW! After seeing all the amazing reviews on Yelp, we decided to have Paul and Kerry come out to our house to install a 65" above our living room fireplace a couple months ago. Long story short, the reviews speak for themselves! Setting up an appointment was super easy. it looks like yelp removed my initial 5 star review of custom plasma from about a year ago, although the pic that i posted is still up. my first time using custom, they installed a flat screen and surround sysemt above my fireplace. regardless of yelp's dysfunctonal filtering system, i had another positive experience with paul and his son. i wanted to switch all of my a/v components from one side of the fireplace to the opposite side. this meant fishing the many wires and cables through the gas fireplace and all the crap that's behind that area. paul and his son arrived early on sunday morning and went right to work. it took a little over an hour and i'm very pleased witht he work. as a noted in my first invisible review, the work is very neat (one drills while the other vacuums to eliminate dust, shoes are off when they walk in) and they check the work to ensure items are properly installed. i would not hesitate at all to recommend custom plasma install to anyone who needs this type of work done properly. read more

Update: Dec 2015 I once again called on Custom Plasma Install to move our TV from the previous location to our new home. Paul came out to dismount the TV on short notice and returned the following day for the install. He supplied a new mount (as we left the old one behind) and did a thorough review of the layout and helped thread the wires in a way to minimize exposure. Note that the cash price is less than check or credit card. Definitely recommend! I'd highly recommend Custom Plasma Install for any tv mounting needs. Although they arrived later than the scheduled time, Paul texted me in advance to give me a heads up, which was appreciated. They worked quickly and professionally to get the job done. I already had a mount so there was a discount for that and because I had cables already. I also appreciated them taking the extra time to attach a wire cover to the wall to hide a number of the cords. No additional charge for that. The tv looks great in our room. I had received quotes from another company to mount my flat screen and sound bar. My wall is cinderblock with plaster. The other company would only over up the wires but Paul went in there like another day at the office, drilled some holes and hid the wires, and I have to tell you, it looks fantastic!! Paul and his helper where amazingly clean. They vacuumed up all the dust before it even hit the floor when drilling holes. These guys are fantastic. They were able to squeeze me in the day after I called them. They arrived right on time and left my apartment as clean as it was when they arrived! They removed their shoes before coming in and bring their own vacuum to suck up any dust created by the drilling. A year ago I had Paul install my 52 inch LCD above my fireplace, which wasn't an easy task considering the construction of my apartment (studs spaced really far apart and tough materials), but despite that he did the job super fast and clean (vacuuming everything up as he drilled). Paul has been installing flat screens since before they became mainstream. A friend of mine had Custom Plasma Install mount his 42" Panasonic way back in 2004, and then referred me to them when I purchased my first flat screen in 2006, a 42" Samsung Plasma. Since then I have had 4 other TVs mounted by them, and have referred at least 10 people who all have had great service. Paul and his son are friendly, dependable, and knowledgeable. And the quality of their work is top notch. I've seen pretty bad install jobs done by BestBuy/Geek Squad and whoever Costco contracts with. My most recent install was for thin 55 inch Plasma (Panasonic TC-P55ST50). They used a super low profile wall mount. Overall, I had a good experience with Custom Plasma. I had never done a TV mount/install so I don't have a huge base for comparison but I did do a fair amount of research. Here are the Pros: -They were on time -They were fast -They were tidy (they brought a shop vac with them an used it at every opportunity) -They have a pricing menu that is straight forward and they do not nickle and dime you on extras (the price stated was the price I paid) -They bring the mount (they have many options) and it's included in the price of the install. -They will come out and patch up / remove the the mount when you move (no other company that I looked at offered this service). -They were willing to un-mount, move and remount the TV after installation when I thought it was 3 inches too low (and they did this quickly and with relatively little push back). I can't think of many cons but I do strongly recommend figuring out what your capabilities are if you want to go truly wireless (ie hide all wires and not have to use a console below the TV to hide the power source or wires). I spoke to Custom Plasma about this over the phone and was under the impression I would be able to move the plug and hide the corresponding boxes in a nearby closet. It was not until they arrived (after assuring me it was possible) that I learned it was not possible. This was frustrating and I think could have been determined over the phone with better listening. That said, it's not their fault and the end result is good. read more

Paul came on time, with all tools needed for the job, and was professional throughout. He got my 75" Samsung installed over the fireplace with 54" sound-bar. Not an easy job by far, there was a solid piece of wood (as opposed to one or more studs) blocking going horizontally from the fireplace, but not to worry Paul made a tunnel through the wood and got the job done. My daughter was watching Sesame Street by noon and all was well. He came in under what I was expecting. Simply: 100% Professional. I would recommend though: think hard about the cables you want to hide. Just because you aren't using that HDMI4, AV, Optical, etc port now doesn't mean you won't want to in the future. I personally would recommend buying all the cabling and having them install it all, or you are looking at opening up the wall again to start using your new (XBox, Receiver, Karaoke, etc) without wires going everywhere. read more

Super duper pain in the ass to remove our OLD plasma - HUGE. Extra bonus points for Gary's patience and persistence on the removal. Did sound work for the first day? - no, but they did quickly respond and were helpful in getting things running the day following. Two people? - nope, only one, which meant that my husband acted as a super helper throughout the process. (code: don't assume that you can just answer the door and go about your business while your giant TV is installed. Apparently 'Paul' was sick today) Overall, Gary definitely knew what he was doing, was super clean and professional, but it would have been helpful if he, well, had help. They installed my TV the other day and did a great job... I had a more difficult setup including a "mantlemount" which is an articulating mount for my TV that allows it to come down in front of the fireplace mantle. They did a very good job. It took a bit longer than they expected but no biggie in my end. I think the price might have been a bit higher than I expected, but that might be on me.. :) Of course they were very clear on pricing, and I made the choice to hire them. After our first phone call, I was not certain Paul was honest when he told me it could be installed without wires showing. Even friends wondered how it could be done. We were wrong and clueless. Paul and his son were professional and the end results were better than anticipated. Paul was courteous on the phone and wrote detailed email instructions and confirmation details. After recently moving into our new house, we decided that we wanted our 42" TV to be mounted on the wall in our living to free up some space and keep in out of reach from little fingers. We contacted Paul, and within a couple days, had an appointment set up for just a week later. He asked for a picture of where we wanted the TV mounted, and gave us a very clear breakdown of what the charges would be, as well as additional options (swivel mount, etc.). Paul and his son did a fantastic job when they arrived. They were professional (e.g. took their shoes off at the door, vacuumed up any debris) and VERY efficient (from start to finish, took ~45min). Within a few minutes, they had our furniture moved out of the way and measurements taken for me to confirm where we wanted the TV to be located. Since our living room is rather narrow, they installed our TV on a tilt mount so we could comfortably view the TV from our couch.
