I wanted to see my short-listed fans up-close and in-person and ask questions and get answers from knowledgeable people, rather than deal with a website chat box. Adam helped me, and he was TERRIFIC. Warm, friendly, so personable, knowledgeable, patient and very easy to talk with and work with. The fan I wanted was on back-order -- not just at Black Whale but pretty much everywhere -- and wouldn't ship for at least a couple of months. The fan is pricey (I view it as an investment) and instead of having to pay in full upfront for a fan that I would not receive for months, Adam was so kind as to allow me to pay 50% upfront, with the balance to be paid when the fan arrived. I really appreciated that. Adam was not there on the day, months later, when I went in to pick up the fan, but the woman who helped me (I think her name was Sandy) was also super-nice and friendly and loaded the boxes into my car for me. Jess was a pleasure to talk to, had exactly the fan we wanted, as well as a family connection to Specialty Electric for the installation, which was a fabulous choice for the work. She's super honest as well and doesn't try to upsell. She also has great suggestions and has made our lives dramatically easier. Ferguson has so much to choose from, including hundreds, maybe thousands of items not on the floor, but in different colors, sizes and formats. Even their signature line is amazing - and so well priced. Plus most everything is under warranty and if an item gets damaged upon receipt or in transit, they'll stand behind it. I love that. After visiting 3 stores and getting recommendations from them to other stores I still could not find replacement fixture and had spent 3 hours looking. I went home and onto the internet where I found what I needed. I also found Light Bulbs Unlimited on the internet when looking for the fixture. I called them to see if they really had what I needed. I did not want to driving across town for nothing. They checked and had what I was looking for. The cost was about 1/2 what I had found on the internet by the way and I did not have to pay shipping. I drove over and picked the parts up. Because of the reviews, I took a good look at their employees. They did not seem to fit the descriptions left on some of the negative reviews. All of their employees seem to be experienced and knowledgeable employees. By the way any other attributes are totally secondary as far as I'm concerned. They were busy completing orders (too busy to make small talk) but not too busy to take care of what I wanted quickly. As far as I'm concerned LBU is friendly enough and is competent establishment. I do recommend this store. By the way there is another store similar name about 1/2 mile further down the street. It does have a younger staff and I'm wondering if some of these comments have the stores confused. Just a thought.
