Now they offer both indoor and outdoor facilities for all the pups in daycare which is such a plus. They have always taken good care of our boys and it's nice to have a facility you can depend on. Beaufort is a bit behind in services for pets, but we are thrilled to have at least one place where we can trust the staff, and know that our pups are in good hands. They also offer grooming and boarding.

I took my 9 year old King Charles cavalier mix to be groomed there. The only positive I can say is…read morethe price point but even then I would rather pay the extra $20 to take her anywhere else. The woman told me upon drop off that it would take about 3 hours (normal) for her to perform a full groom. She called me 1.5 hours after drop off claiming that she was done. Upon pick up my dog was running around freely sitting at the door and instead of picking up the leash to pull her back, she practically kicked her back. My dog was still wet under the ears and her undercoat was still damp. My dog already is prone to ear infections due to her floppy like ears so the fact that she wasn't properly dried really bothered me. I can tell that she was bathed from her fresh smell but as for the groom it doesn't look like she had been anything but brushed out and bathed. Before arriving to pick her up I asked the woman if I could bring my other two dogs for a walk in nail trimming and she said it would be fine. When she goes to trim my dogs nail she didn't put her up on the table (that was vacant behind her) to make the job easier and with the first nail she goes to cut she cut it WAY too short causing my dog to not only bleed pretty bad, but yelp out in pain At this point I was uncomfortable and told her to not worry about it but she said it was "okay" and that she "could get them done". After trying to pull at her leg to try and cut the next nails I told her to stop and then she said my dogs nails didn't need to be cut to begin with (which is not the case). Overall the experience was very nerve-racking for me as a dog-owner. The woman was NOT personable, very awkward to talk to/converse with. And she did not apologize for any of what my dog experienced or what I had to see. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

THREE times my dog got fleas. She was treated so luckily the fleas never laid eggs in my house but each time I would take her home and scrub fleas her...the last time there were at least 50 fleas on my dog that fell off in the bath. The first couple times I tried to give Paws the benefit of the doubt because they have great hours and try to accommodate military schedules and I appreciated that about the business. However, the third time when my dog was infested, I could not take it anymore. I told Tara I could not bring my dog back and that I would like 8 sessions worth of my money back. She claimed it was non-refundable, which is interesting because it is not written anywhere in the contract or anywhere in her policies. Actually, she does not have any written policies. She also claims that the 22 sessions are meant to be used in a month time frame. Again, no where does it say that or was I told this catch. I was not concerned so much about the money but I was concerned for her lack of concern for a huge problem in her establishment and her disregard for her customers and fellow pet owners. When I went into the place to speak with her in person, the first two dogs I saw were biting at their butts. Of course, Tara was not there, as usual, and my issue was not resolved. Your dog will get fleas from this place and Tara will not care one bit. Her staff is very dedicated and professional but Tara herself is a business owner to stay away from.

Their Vet in New York was absolutely wonderful and understood how neurotic I can be when it comes to my dogs. Dr. Fetterman and the rest of the staff are wonderful. Dr. Fetterman also understands and manages how I can be when it comes to them. I just lost my boy Riley on Monday June 9, 2025. Riley was my world and loved unconditionally; he was a kumbaya boy; my travel buddy, my boat ride or die and my swimming partner (you jump...I jump) for 16 wonderful years. He was a brother, a best friend and a playmate to Cooper for 11 years. To get back on topic...they both have/had separation anxiety (Riley a bit more than Cooper). Dr. Fetterman was the only Vet to put Riley on a medication that actually worked. Dr. Fetterman and the rest of the staff at Sea Island genuinely care for both fur-baby and human.
