We had a flood in the basement so we called Thunderbird to report it. We had to insist they take a look and a week later, finally the inspector took a look. The mould was separate from the flood and they ended up covering it. Your insurance agent shouldn't be trying to stop you from being covered. Do they get a kickback if they dissuade you from making a claim? Such poor service. Apparently this person is the daughter of the owner. Maybe she is not properly trained, but this service is unacceptable.

I know that sounds dramatic…read more When asking why letters in the mail regarding a payment schedule arrived 10 days after the payment schedule started, I was pretty shocked by the reply I got. There was some patronizing commentary about how I should have known the payment schedule simply by keeping an eye on all the transactions in my bank account and seeing it come out after the fact. I understand they were in an awkward position, but being treated as a client in that way from any business would be terrible. I don't think insurance has immunity from providing polite customer service. I would not recommend this company. If anything goes wrong with your payment schedules/ payments, or it seems like theres an error, they won't be able to help or get back to you for a while and you'll get left in the lurch.

Never had an issue with purchasing insurance. Never had a claim so can't rate them based on that…read more BUT, when I sold my condo and had to cancel my home insurance they continued billing me. I called to try to resolve it, they pushed me off to CNS who does their billing. CNS never resolved it for me and continued billing me as well. I feel that both Harbord Insurance and CNS have failed me. In fact, one time that I called Harbord the person on the phone told me, "We are very busy right now," without offering someone to call me back or anything. Because of this I would never return to this company nor recommend it to anyone.
