I enquired about watch cleaning at that time as my watch had been losing time, minutes over a few days. As payment for him changing the bracelet and replacing a worn pin he simply requested that if I ever choose to get the cleaning done that I consider them to do it. 9 months later I returned with my vintage 1967 Doxa Sub 300 Divers watch for said cleaning. All I can say is WOW!! I have what feels like a brand new watch! The watch mechanism was thoroughly cleaned and serviced. It's been over a week and I haven't lost any time! I went 24 hours without wearing it and it was still ticking. The expertise is greatly appreciated for a watch of this vintage. She's seen a lot and is extremely special to me! Her rings were getting so tight that they were causing extreme pain and swelling. My only option at the time was to take her to emergency and have them cut off. This would have been an extremely traumatizing and scary experience for my mom who has Alzheimers and whose mobility is impaired. My other option was to find a jeweller who had a ring cutter and somehow figure out how to get my mom to the jeweller to have her rings removed. The first place I contacted was Kimberley Jewellers. I didn't have any expectations at the time, I was just looking for some guidance on who I could contact to help me out so I could avoid taking my mom to emergency. They couldn't have been more understanding! Gay made a special trip to my mom's care facility (on her extremely limited time) within a few hours, ring cutter in hand, and removed my mom's rings. My mom was comfortable and comforted by Gay's presence, and gentle approach, the whole time. The smile on my mom's face from the relief of pain was worth a thousand words. Although my mom could not communicate to Gay how much she was grateful, it was evident by the smile on her face. When I asked Gay to compensate her for her house call, she refused! I called this morning to ask about having the battery replaced in my Guess Waterman. The employee…read moresaid it would be 15$ so I dropped off my watch for the 15 minute job. I cam back and the employee said they were having trouble getting the snap back on again and that the owner would be coming in and they'd have it done in an hour. When I picked up my watch I noticed scratches on the back cover that had not been there prior to the battery replacement. The employee said, "that's going to happen." I responded, "I guess I wish I would have been told that beforehand." The employee went in the back to talk to the owner, came out and said they would wave the cost but that, "that's going to happen." I don't have a watch collection or more time to think about this than what it takes to write this down, but I'm pretty sure that decent watch manufacturers don't design watch backs that are meant to be scratched from opening. If it was commonplace then why would they wave the cost?

They offered an alternative adjustment I didn't even know was possible, suggested more cost-effective options, and even tightened my prongs at no extra charge.
