It's a basic system with just one controller and 5 valves. Despite this I agreed because of the reviews here and because it would be for the following day at 1 pm. The day of our appointment a couple hours prior, Alex texted me asking if he could come earlier than scheduled. I told him that I wasn't able to make it then, and he responded that it was fine and he would see me at 1. I drove 30 minutes to meet Alex at our agreed upon time, and waited 15 minutes waiting for him to show up. He didn't, so I texted him again to see what his eta was. He then informed he wasn't coming, and had an emergency to take care of. Given the prior conversation with him, I'm not entirely convinced of this "emergency ", especially because he still offered to come in the morning the following day. Had he called me when he knew he wouldn't be able to make it, I might be more forgiving, but he wasted my time.

Over three days, Eduardo's team tackled a massive job: Complete Lot Clearing & Trimming: They cleared out years of old, unwanted bushes and expertly trimmed back our overgrown landscaping until everything looked clean, balanced, and vibrant. Full-Property Mulching: They beautifully mulched both our front and backyards, giving the entire yard a pristine, professional, and polished finish. Proactive Upgrades: Eduardo went the extra mile by installing a custom mesh screen over our main backyard water drain to prevent leaves and debris from causing future blockages. The level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and sheer work ethic displayed by Eduardo and his crew was incredible. They were extremely hard-working, top-tier professionals, extraordinarily friendly, and left our property spotless after cleaning up every single bit of debris at the end of each day. D Garcia Landscaping completed a large fence project for us and we are extremely happy with the…read moreresults! This was a technically challenging project involving a steep hill and very mature redwood roots. Standout qualities of this company are: 1. Ease of quoting process Before coming out in person, they were able to give us a ballpark price based on dimensions, fence type, and site images. This allowed me to decide whether to move forward and I thought this was really respectful of my time. Then, Dago, the owner, came for the site visit and to discuss details. 2. No bait and switch In ironing out the details, there was some miscommunication about whether staining was included. Dago was able to meet us halfway with the price increase. This honest business style continued throughout the project and no change orders or unexpected price increases happened. 3. Detail oriented Throughout the project, we discussed details such as fence posts placement relative to tree roots, post height, etc. Dago was both available in person and by email via his assistant Maria. It was also nice to have responses confirmed in writing so that things were clear and there would be no bait and switch. 4. Personality Dago is a really nice person and I enjoy speaking with his about his geriatric dogs, etc. This also helped me not feel anxious about the project, because I felt that I could trust him. For this fence, we received multiple quotes. Two companies were in the $9-10K range, another was around $12K, and an outlier was above $20K. Dago's price was the lowest quote (with minute differences in material) and we are very glad we went with him!

Our big water bill clues us in that we have a leak. Although we're finally allowed to have outdoor gardening services again, of course everyone is swamped and few are specialized in repairing irrigation systems. The irrigation supply store Watersavers in San Rafael recommended David Melendez of Marin Landscape Service so we gave him a call. What a great recommendation! I can't say enough about how professional, courteous, knowledgeable and supportive David is. Unlike a competing irrigation professional I talked with in Fairfax, he came out without charging a fee to assess the problem and then scheduled a prompt follow-on visit to repair the system. Our controller was shot and we needed a replacement controller of approximately the same size that could be placed in the same location. David listened to our needs and found a programmable controller with more capabilities than the one we had that allows me to control the irrigation with an app on my phone. I love not having to go out to the controller and sit on the ground to have to change the settings. Even better, our irrigation controller is now updated to a more water saving technology that adjusts the watering automatically by taking into account the local weather, including higher or lower temperatures and rain in the forecast. In addition to replacing our ancient controller, David repaired 2 of our valves that also had problems and patiently stepped through how to program the controller while I filmed his lesson on my phone. He also recommended how long to water during the current season. You can't go wrong with David Melendez at Marin Landscape Service for your irrigation system repairs. (The added bonus is that he's a super nice person with a great sense of humor!)
