this was my yearly maintenance for the gas fireplace. here for about an hour working on the fireplace. He cleaned up after he was done. He told me what he found and what he had done to fix it. The fireplace is always worked well but I want to avoid problems so I have this yearly maintenance done. I needed a new pilot assembly for my fireplace. Was there October 15 and was told 4-6 weeks to get part. Stopped by on December 3 as two messages were not returned. Part finally came in and they tried but were unable to install part on December 20. Stuff happens - I get that. I made the assumption I would get a call for next step. After not hearing a thing I left voicemails on December 31 and January 7 (18 days later). NO REPLY. I know it was the holidays but still...... I finally gave up and found someone else. He sent me a link to order the part while we were on the phone and I got the part within a week. He came out next day and installed the part - works great. This was after two service calls in the last two years that needed a second service call the next day to fix what was not fixed on the first try. They lost a customer but based on my experience I don't think they care. read more

1.15.2022 I know winter must be a busy time for Custom Fireplace. Tis the season to enjoy our fireplace--- when it's working. Something suddenly went wrong-- my gas flames diminished! At the end of December 2021 I called for my service appointment scheduled two weeks out. During this busy season, I was able to get one of their last Saturday service appointments. Mike gave me a courtesy phone call the day before my scheduled appointment with a courtesy 2-hour window timeframe. Mike was prompt, courteous, and efficient. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they had very little stock under $3K, or items for smaller spaces. I recognize that their stoves/fireplaces/inserts are high quality, but it would be nice to have a few more options! Otherwise, most of the employees were quite knowledgeable and free with advise even if you don't purchase anything from them. The store on Auburn Blvd. sold us a wood burning fireplace and a pad totalling over $5,000. We ordered it all in the beginning of November 2022. We have called every week or two to get an eta. Everything was in except the padding. We called beginning at the end of November and they told us the pad hadn't been made yet and we may have it by the end of January. I visited with these guys a few times before deciding to buy and have them install. The nice thing is they are a one stop shop. Show you the stoves, quote including install, come out and verify measurements and then did the installation. Ran into some issues during install but Jeremy persevered and got the job done in one day. At the end of the job Jeremy had to call in for a part. We hired this company to convert our wood burning fireplace to gas Six years ago. Back then they were a little difficult to get ahold of but they eventually showed up. Now they are impossible. We seem to lose our remote (the only way to turn the stove on) during the summer and this year is not an exception. We have called four times, left messages, no response. We purchased a gas log set and fireplace doors from Custom Fireside in the midst of the pandemic. We wanted to minimize our interactions in retail establishments and thus did the whole transaction over the phone and computer. Mitch was exceptionally patient and answered all questions to our satisfaction, and the products were delivered and installed in a reasonable amount of time. We had some specific concerns about the doors and Custom Fireside/Mitch were quick to respond to these in a reasonable manner.
