I called Empire and within 5 days they had a wonderful gentleman come over and give me an estimate. Side note, all stereo places prefer you buy their equipment before they install it. Empire did all my installation needs within one month and didn't complain that I only bought cheap ceiling speakers. The whole job was on par for pricing and the amount of work was well done and quick. Finally, I have Control4 so they were able to automate my theatre experience. I have had one issue, my router went down and for some reason the receiver I bought in NC lost it's IP information. While I had to pay for the service call, Empire had someone out within 4 days and not only was it fixed within 10 minutes, the installer showed me how to fix it! In summary, if you want good AV (Audio / Video) equipment and installation for your home in a timely manner, reasonable prices, and by good people, give these guys a shout. You'll be very happy you did.

My impression is that this may be their mode of marketing, but I find it intrusive, offensive and predatory. I suggested they join the Austin Independent Business Alliance, and the caller replied that they advertise on KXAN. I bought a system from Dyezz, a local business who belong to the AIBA, and support local businesses. I shall elaborate my objections to the marketing strategy. If someone walked up to you and said, "Gee, that suit looks awful--I'm a tailor and I can fix it." How would you feel? Would you want to do business with them? If you had just had a major automobile accident, and a safe driving instruction school called and said, "Gee, sounds like your really need our services," would you react positively to that approach? The insensitivity of the caller and his hard sell approach didn't appeal to me. I think it would be far better to send a letter or a brochure through the mail, rather than calling.

After researching, Allied was the best deal. Free instillation and free service calls. The instillation was that week, the team was very nice and professional. They understood how concerned I was about any alarm testing frightening my dog. They were very understanding and warned me before any tests. They ran into a few issues because they were installing over a previous owners alarm, but were in and out quickly. A few weeks later, there were some alerts on my screen , I called in and they had an electrician out the same day to fix the problem. My favorite part about Allied is I can controll my thermostat and lights right from my phone with a free application, alarm.com. I love being able to turn my lights on and off when I am on vacation or turning down the thermostat on the way home so it is cooled off when I get in! I would highly suggest Allied, very satisfied with their service.

They ended up putting MASSIVE holes in my walls by dragging the drill across the wall rather than actually looking for the studs! One of the TVs had a bottom mounted sound bar, that they couldn't identify that you had to remove ONE SCREW from the back of the mount to lower the bar and ended up mounting the sound bar to the wall! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND using these yahoos - they have NO idea what they are doing!

I had to get someone else to help me with the new Eero, and he has never picked up or reimbursed me for the bad eero that he charged me for and installed. They placed the wires for the alarm panel in a space where even the smallest alarm panel won't fit. I've 3 sensors that are not working even when is the first time I try them. They don't want to fix or test their job and they want to charge me $100 per hour to send a technician. Take a look of the labels that they use to mark the wires. Very professional!

Jamison has years of experience working as a contractor for cable companies, so he know a lot of tricks. He acted as a consultant, giving me options that I did not consider to solve my problem of hiding wires by putting the equipment in a closet, getting a more powerful antenna on my roof, and hooking it up to a DVR. He was one of few to offer a free quote, and his prices were the least expensive I found. But more importantly, he was always on time, offered quality service, and did a great job. I told him he's underselling his services, but apparently, he's fine with not charging more. He's that crazy good :-)

I'll start off by saying that these guys are kinda hard to get ahold of which raised a red flag…read moreinitially. I decided to go thru with my whole house audio installation having 8 zones and a 7.2 Theatre Room along with some tv's hung as well. Flo and I walked the project over to determine if the speaker locations we wanted were even going to be possible to achieve without it be too costly on the labor and hole patching end, as was the impression I got from other bids beforehand. And this is where my hunch pays off, I don't know exactly what it was that he had noticed or figured out about the construction of my home just by looking at the ceiling and knocking on some walls, but what I do know, is that the labor cost amounted to being significantly tough to beat, and that is an understatement! We also where able to use our old TruAudio Speakers, which he recommended us to reuse as they had a pretty steep price tag, much to my amazement. He also was able to get totally brand new grills for them, seeing that the old ones were painted and some in pretty bad shape, but now we had them looking fresh out of the box New! We brought from our old home a rats nest of wires, cables and all kinds of devices which a big portion was able to be re-installed, saving us literally thousands in contrast to the equipment purchase proposals we received. Everything went well beyond what we could of imagined, our home was treated with respect and our check book with the dignity that it deserves! We work hard for our money and having a company who actually understands this and is even true to the way they market themselves, 'Budget Audio and Video', is really awesome and quite the welcoming for us out of towners making Austin our new home! Now hopefully our neighbors will be as enthusiastic because our home literally ROCKS!!!
