I recently bought a 2019 Tesla Model 3. I got their name off the Tesla website as one of the preferred electricians for installing a Tesla Wall Charger. I contacted other companies with mixed levels of responses, and decided to go with this one. Here is the process I went through. - I called them on the phone and asked about installing a wall charger. After some back and forth, got a quote. - I ordered a wall charger from Tesla ($500) - I called them again to set up the appointment. - They did everything. - Inspector arrived the next day to finish up. - Paid. (~$950 for install, including tax and permits. so $1450 total) Here are the good things about this company: - Responsive and reachable. I called them on the phone and got to talk to an actual person. A little while later, I got a text from an electrician to ask for a photo of the breaker panel, and got an immediate quote. A while later I called them again to finalize details and set up the appointment. The point is, they were very reachable by phone and always responded, which was a problem with other companies. - No nonsense. I didn't have to fill out an extensive online form or upload the pictures less than a certain size. I just took a quick snap with my phone and texted it to the guy. - Accommodating. I originally told them that I wanted to install the wall charger 20 feet away from the panel and they quoted me for that. When they arrived, we discussed it and it made more sense in my case to just install it adjacent to the breaker panel, and they knocked $200 off the price without me even asking them to. They also asked if I wanted to install a NEMA 14-50 instead of the Wall Charger for an even lower price, because the wall charger is almost overkill for a model 3. I decided to go with the Wall Charger anyway because it would result in a slightly faster charge in my case. - They deal with all the paperwork for the permit application and inspection with the local energy authorities. I live in Kent, WA, and at the end of the day, the permit only cost another $70 on top of the installation (varies according to labor by state inspector). - Timely and Fast. After I got the wall charger from Tesla, I scheduled an appointment for 3-4 days later. The guy arrived near the beginning of the scheduled window, and was in and out in 2 hours. The inspector arrived the next morning to provide the state sticker of approval. - 100% digital. I didn't sign a single piece of paper, it was just a quick sign-off on the tablet before he began the work, and then got a digital invoice immediately after the state inspection. - Knowledgeable. During the install, the electrician (Dale) was friendly and forthcoming with information and suggestions, and answered all my questions. Good work. Had a garbage disposal that didn't work due to the outlet under the sink and the switch that runs it above the counter not working, would've done it myself but the previous owner of our house was a borderline imbecile and already dealt with his messes before. Not wanting to risk dealing with those mistakes (once removed an outlet and there was nearly 10 FEET of wiring jumbled together with wires crossed and packed behind the outlet plate, no thanks). So I called CES on Monday Evening and scheduled an appointment for Wednesday (another place told me they'd be out in MAY--this is MARCH!!). Was given the time of between 10AM and 1PM for service on that day. The Electrician, Joe, called around 9:30AM that day to confirm (I missed the call) ask if he could show up a few mins early. I like that. Not only on time but actually wanted to arrive early. Due to the missed call and my wife being home not knowing if she was ready by then and not being able to reach her I let it go knowing it was nearing 10AM and he'd be there around that time. At 10AM ON THE NOSE he'd arrived--PROMPT that to me is a bonus in this era. I love that. Shows integrity which is something you don't see in this day and age. My wife showed him the problem and he got right to work. He was not only PROMPT in arriving but fast in doing the work. Was done, bill was paid, and he was out the door in less than :30 MINUTES and for the quoted price of $395+taxes (which was cheaper than the place telling me MAY would do it for with 2 other places I called that refused to give me a quote "without seeing it"). Wonderful work, prompt service, and my wife said he was personable and professional. Which is nice when she was dealing with him and at the same time chasing our toddler around the house..haha...Would use CES again for all my electrical needs and HIGHLY recommend them and Joe to all my friends and acquaintances if they ever need electrical work done around their homes! Nice to be able to use the garbage disposal again, one of those things you don't know important they are until it's not working! Awesome experience. I worked with several people at Custom Electrical Services who all contributed to this being a success. It's easy to get bids and pick the lowest number, but there are so many other important factors: Cost: I got three bids and Custom Electrical offered me the most competitive price. That's a good start. Reliability and timing: These guys showed up on time and ended on time. They committed the resources to make sure the job got done. Kyle was finishing the job and when he left, he had taken care of every last detail. Expertise: Luis was managing the job at my house and he is INCREDIBLE. He is smart and has so much experience. He came with fresh ideas and I had never considered, and helped me craft the most perfect lighting plan for my house. I am so grateful for his advice and experience. Flexibility: I made a few last-minute changes along the way and it was so critical to work with a company that was happy to accommodate these. Quality of Work: Their work is beautiful. Tidy and thoughtful. No random damage and surprises that you'll find with other contractors. The wiring is clean, and they consider every detail. Luis also took the time to show me all my options so I could make an informed decision, without making any assumptions. Communication: Excellent across the board. Josh was great in coordinating the job and checking in. Luis kept me informed at every step in the process. Also, between phases and I had a bunch of time-sensitive questions that came up and Luis responded to me instantly! Kyle also had great communication; he even let me know right away when some other contractors showed up unbeknownst to me... I am so thankful he was looking out for me and my house. Overall Experience: I'm simply grateful. It could have easily been a disaster since I needed so much guidance, but they were thoughtful and patient and took the time to make sure my dream became a reality. I needed to add a couple of external outlets, 2 new lights and reconnect a front garage external light that was disconnected due to a renovation. I called Custom Electrical Services and they responded promptly. Maria was very courteous and professional and she set me up to meet up with Albert and Alan. They came out to do an assessment and quoted me for the work. As most who understand the business of construction, electrical work is very expensive. Albert worked with me and even gave me a little break on the pricing to make it more appealing to me. I agreed and scheduled the work. They were very communicative and very customer service oriented. One thing to note is that they were very courteous of our custom to remove their shoes before entering our home to do the work. They answered my questions and got right to work. They cleaned up after themselves. I was missing some parts for my current lighting fixture, and they offered to stop by on their way home to finish off installing new lights after I purchase the missing parts, which was not their responsibility. That is customer service. I ended up just purchasing new lights all around at the recommendation of Albert. They went out of their way to get the job completed from start to finish and even after that. I highly recommend Custom Electrical Services, especially Albert and Alan, thank very much both of you. And thank you Maria for the follow up as well. That's a well-oiled machine to get a job done even during 25 degree winter weather! Really great service! From the moment I called to make an appt, to the moment the technician left our home...it was great service. It is so common to feel ignored, not listened to, or talked down to by people who are used to working in this field and who are used to working with homeowners who don't know the first thing about electricical issues. But the whole team did a great job of listening FIRST and addressing our concerns FIRST before jumping in and ignoring what we said. What a breath of fresh air. Our electrician has 17+ years of experience and it shows. (But he managed to build our trust and show us how qualified he is without coming across as pompous or condescending.) He shared tips and tricks while he was here and it was very obvious his main priority was twofold: (1) safety, and (2) saving money...in both the long- and short-term. He was also very transparent about the things he wasn't very sure about, or things he didn't feel competent enough to work on. (We have a mobile home, and he has more experience with stick built homes.) Thank you, again!! Will definitely return to Custom Electrical Services for our future electrical issues. In case this review helps anyone: we had the technician repair an old exterior electrical panel on a 1979 Sherman Manor mobile home. Took him less than an hour to diagnose and begin fixing the issue. We hired Custom Electric to replace a ceiling fan on our vaulted ceiling. The whole process couldn't have gone any better. From the initial phone call to get someone out for and estimate. Maria was friendly and took her time to understand what we were looking for. They were flexible with scheduling and could get me on their schedule the same week. On the day of installation Chad and Evan were the installers. They were friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. They called when they were on their way which was right on time in the arrival window. During the installation they discovered the electrical box that the old fan was installed in was way too small and not adequate for a ceiling fan. They had the correct one in their truck and took the time to do the job right. Chad and Evan work together as a quick and efficient team. They double checked to make sure everything was working correctly. They showed me how everything worked and then cleaned up so well you would never know they were there. The final price was the original estimate, even with the extra work Chad and Evan did. They were willing to go the extra mile to do the job right the first time. So I now have a beautiful ceiling fan that was installed quickly, correctly, frustration free and on budget. That is a rare find this day and age. I couldn't be happier. There truly aren't adequate words to express how impressed I am with the service I received from Custom today, but I'll try! As this is the first time I've had to call on professional electrician services, I didn't know what to expect. I thought they would come out to do the estimate and then I'd have to schedule another appointment for the work itself to be done, and this was a time sensitive issue as I have a sewer line repair scheduled and the wiring for my hot tub was in the way of where they need to excavate. Brandon and Travis were fantastic!! Communication throughout this process has been great, and when they found they were able to come out earlier than the scheduled time, they called to ask if that would work for me. Of course! The estimate was very fair (considering what I was expecting) aand as soon as I agreed to the amount, they got right to work! They were professional, personable and just such sweet guys. They were very patient with my many questions and explained everything in a way that a laymen could understand. I have additional work that needs done and they were even able to assess that existing materials could be used for said work, thereby reducing their labor and my costs. We hired Custom Electrical Services (CES) after receiving 2 other quotes from competing companies. Not only was CES the most competitive, but they were also the most prompt in their interactions with us. We had some serious concerns about the quality of the electrical work done in our home, so we didn't want to wait weeks before having those concerns resolved. CES was incredibly diligent in following up with us in all aspects of the job - from the initial quote, to the safety assessment of our home, to the actual work being performed. Overall, we had interactions with multiple CES employees, all of whom were incredibly professional and a pleasure to work with. Peter and James were the two electricians who came out to our home to do the bulk of the work we needed completed. They were respectful, meticulous in their work, and tried their best to help me understand everything they were doing. They also showed immense patience in putting up with our dog who was quite interested in them, as well as with my 4 year old who wanted to follow them around telling them stories and asking them questions. I appreciated both their patience and their understanding. We recently had a family member pass away out of state and found that closing out their house for sale was a much bigger job than we could have imagined. One of the issues was a rather nasty electrical mess that needed professionals to address. Custom Electrical Services was my first phone call but Maria informed me they were completely booked up for the day, Friday, and that they do not normally work on the weekends. She asked me to give her a little time to see if she could find any of their crew that might take a weekend job. After an our she called back and said she had not found anyone but would continue to call the electricians. I started calling more companies, we were only in Seattle for the weekend to meet realtors and the movers and we really needed the electrical work done before the house could be listed. I was leaving a message for the 8th electrician company when Maria called me back saying she found one of the crew that was willing to come in and do the work. She was up front and transparent about Weekend hourly rates, and all the associated costs. We needed that, it let us plan ahead for the sting of the weekend rates. The job quote was for 2 hours, Tim and his partner had it done in 90 minutes and it was perfect. The professionalism and attention to safety concerns was outstanding. Clean, thorough, precise, knowledgeable and really good pricing. One of our contractor buddies frequently works with different electrical companies and he recommended we call these guys in particular to add some interior lighting to our home. Our electrician, Dale, worked with our busy schedule and showed up on time to discuss our plans. He provided sound advice on solving our lighting needs and we scheduled the work right after he gave us a very fair estimate. While working, I could tell he was very experienced and knowledgeable on how to make things just right. He was very careful to keep the work area clean and installed 14 lights all over the house with minimal disturbance. He was thoughtful and careful when he had to drill holes to feed the wiring to make drywall repair a piece of cake. We had a dimmer switch installed that was giving us some issues and when we told him about it he came right back, diagnosed the issue, replaced it with an even nicer/higher quality switch at no charge just to make sure we were completely satisfied. Overall an excellent experience from beginning to end -- and then even followed up a couple weeks later just to make sure all was well. All signs of a good solid company. I was EXTREMELY happy with the work and service provided by Custom Electric Services. My wife and I contracted them to raise the electrical wire mast in our backyard at a home we were preparing to sell. Roughly three days from closing, we got a notification from our realtor that the power wasn't working in our kitchen. Josh and his staff scrambled to dispatch an electrician on one day's notice. The electrician (Evan), quickly diagnosed the issue (faulty kitchen outlet), which was in no way related to the work that Custom Electric Services did on our electrical mast. Evan was amazing. We just purchased a new house and realized that our washer needed a dedicated circuit due to a fire hazard. After shopping around for the best price and service availability, we were referred to this company. I called them in the afternoon and they showed up the next day at noon. I loved how fast they could send a technician over (most companies replied with one week waiting time). They were very professional and completed the job in a couple hours (another company told me earlier it would take a whole day). It was sort of a messy job, they had to drill holes in our kitchen's ceiling but I appreciated it when they offered to clean up the mess. When I asked about an extra job to be done (installing an outlet for a garbage disposal), they still did it even enough they were tired and it was their 3rd house for the day. Overall, I like down-to-earth people who don't try to rip you off and tell you the truth about what needs to be done. We were also happy with the price, they were understanding of our budget restrictions. I will definitely keep Chris' card if we need to call an electrician again. read more

I was so pleased with Zach Gardner and James Lydin when they came to do our electrical work in response to the work orders requested by the buyer of our home in Fircrest. They were on-time, and kind when they spoke with me. While they worked on our home, they didn't talk about inappropriate topics, swear, complain, or play music while they worked near me, while I was trying to video conference call from home. Both men were quiet, kind, and considerate that they were in someone else's home, and that we had HIRED them! They were patient to explain what they were doing, and friendly to both me, and to our lovely but attention-seeking dog. I just loved how they didn't talk down to me as if I couldn't understand their work, and were well-groomed- unlike my un-showered furnace tech. :( Zach even wrote an explanatory letter on company letterhead to the buyer and her real estate agent, that assured her concerns that the existing electrical work already completed in our 1953 home was up to standards and safe.
