The barber and I discussed what I was looking for- I asked for a clean up all around not a haircut and I specifically said I did not want to be shaved down to skin around the ears/sideburns or in anyway like the standard fade (if that's you, cool... not my style). I also asked for my hairline to be squared up in the back but not to just cut it up because that's how rookies deal with tough necklines... What's the first thing done? Cuts my neckline in a random place squared up- almost by an inch from my normal neckline. I couldn't tell because I was facing away from the mirror.... But when you're told, they understand, you trust them. Then he proceeds to dive into my sideburns and beard and completely takes me to almost skin on the sides...I ask him to turn me around to look at my beard and it's completely wrong- all the way to the skin, my sideburns gone all the way up into my hairline... I'm like, "dude, I said don't go to the skin..."and his response "yeah, my bad I took it too low..." This coming from a guy that was a "teacher" at barber school? I see the other barber look over, like he's heard this reaction before. At this point, I've had enough, I get up, I give the guy a $20 because everyone's time has a value and I walk out...

A barbershop that isn't busy on a Saturday morning should've made me suspicious, but I was feeling optimistic. Wrong. The barber seemed inexperienced and the service felt rushed. I specifically asked for a simple neck cleanup, which took only a few minutes, yet they charged $20 for that tiny touch-up while a full haircut is only $35. That pricing makes absolutely no sense and feels like they're taking advantage of walk-ins. Everyone was friendly enough at first to get you in the door, but once the service was done the attitude changed. The manager didn't seem service-oriented at all and showed no interest in making the situation right. For a place that should value repeat customers, this experience made it clear they don't. Avoid this barbershop -- you probably won't want to come back a second time. The barber even missed hairs on my neck that were covered by the itchy paper around my neck. Careless. Do better, Sunset!

I read all y'all's raving reviews about this place. And let me tell you, you were not joking! I didn't know who Casper was, but he ended up introducing himself to me as soon as I sat down in the chair; from that point forward he was the friendliest guy ever. I told him I found the place via Yelp! and he was very gracious and content that I came because of the good reviews. He asked me what I was looking to have done to my hair; I told him what I was going for and he brought up a picture of another subject he had done; the hairstyle was exactly what I had pictured. When all was said and done, he used the straight-edge on my neck, which was great, and he cleaned it up with a hot towel (I'd NEVER had a barber use one of those before; it was quite luxurious). I look and feel great with my new cut. Like someone else here, he told me only to pay $12 because I was a new client. I appreciated the gesture but I would gladly have paid the reg rate for the excellent service and friendly environment. I would recommend Custom Cuts to anyone. It's unfortunate I don't live in Temecula full-time to go here more often! read more

Very frustrating. Tried calling during business hours many times to schedule an appointment because last time my husband went in he waited 2.5 hours to get the wrong barber and mess up his look pretty bad. So made many attempts to call while they were open and no one answers the phone. Period. Some barbers can do really good cuts here but when you live 40 mins away and walk in wait is almost 3 hours I'd sure like to make an appointment and since not all the barbers are made the same we can't trust just a random barber and I would like to make a specific appointment. But apparently these people don't want to answer their phones to make said appointments. Kinda hard to book an appointment on booksy if you can't find out which barber did the good hair cut vs the bad one why would I make a random appointment and spend money for someone to do the wrong cut when I could make an appointment with the right barber and be a happy customer????? Again super frustrating the way they're running this place. read more

This place looked promising after reading the reviews but I was pretty disappointed with my haircut from Adam. He left a lot of uneven areas and the blending he did on the side where I part my hair was so rough it made my part look crooked. I was unable to see a lot of these problems until I got home because he used a ton of product to style my hair before he even spun the chair for me to check out his work in the mirror. Normally I would ask him to fix some stuff up while I was there but this was my first visit to this place and I didn't want to have to ask him to wash out all the pomade since the haircut had already taken over 45 minutes. I ended up going for a second haircut two days later at a different barbershop to fix up all the issues. I don't know how good the other barbers are but Adams work was very subpar and not worth the price. read more

WOW! In today's digital day-of-age I rarely find a company that gets real customer service right as well as Custom Cuts Barbershop Inc. does. I mean, these guys are AMAZING! They are so helpful and friendly whenever I need help of any kind. When I call or email, they answer or get back with me quickly. They're always in a great mood, happy, and it's honestly contagious! I've bought so many products and services from companies that just don't do what they say they'll do. But with Custom Cuts Barbershop Inc. , that's just not the case. From the beginning of our relationship they have delivered time and time again. And, they continue to do EXACTLY what they say they will do. So, this place! First let's talk about the "barbers", I don't know if this guy was a ex-gang member or on a work release program, but he jacked up my kids hair cut. Then the best part is I go to pay and the guy says did I make an appointment. I said, our friend who "referred" us here did. He said that will be $30. I said $30!, first of all, the sign on wall says boys $18, men $25, no age, so I assume my 8th grader passes for a man, but the extra $5, because I made an appointment! This is is such a rip off it's not funny! Needless to say no tip was given. To top it off after we left my SON said that the guy smelled like marijuana! NICE! Don't go here, rip-off!! read more

The time has come to give Custom Cuts a review, I will begin with the shop, Its a good relaxed vibe.. The barbers take there time on the cuts so Yes, it may take a good minute to get a cut...(it's worth the wait) I personally don't like or care for rushed fades, I have had my share of BAD fades at other shops and for as long as I have been coming here I have had no complaints. After relocating from Hemet and leaving a Barber i had for years i searched high and low for a barber that could cut my hair the way i like it. After trying a lot of places that said they could cut my hair the way i liked but found out the hard way they couldn't i walked into Custom Cuts and sat down only to say to myself here we go again. I couldn't find a good barbershop to stick with for awhile. Usually due to treatment of customers. But Chris at custom cuts has changed that for me. He's been so good and on point with his skills. The main thing I appreciate is he'll be honest with you. If a style isn't going to sit right due to texture, the type of hair you have, he'll let you know. Clean, pleasant, professional. And no posters of plastic people wearing plastic hair. Damon took his time and took care of every scrap of hair from my neck up. And had a nostalgic chat about great bands we knew from SF in the early 70's. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and by far the best haircuts and prices. Only 12 for a cut and a razor fade; i used to pay around 18-20 at other places. I want to preface by saying my boyfriend has been here before and liked the barbers and the service…read morethey provided. We came today after a long period of doing haircuts at home, and growing out length. The barber that saw him today was Miggy; he was nice and was able to fit my boyfriend into the schedule today. My boyfriend unfortunately left the appointment feeling embarrassed by what he received and sad after previously looking forward to the change. I have included photos of the length he came in with, a reference picture and then what he got. We paid for the clean up fee in the end. My boyfriend explained to the barber that his hair shrinks after it's dry so to please cut much longer than he would originally think. After the barber took a majority the length, my boyfriend checked in to see what was going on. He didn't get to see what was going on until it was too late to redirect. There was multiple points during that cut that lead to him feeling something was not going right and he tried to address it without sounding disrespectful to the barber and his service. I tried to talk to him myself and he said there was parts of the haircut left to do. We did come to the conclusion that the hair was not what was requested after reviewing the reference photo with him. To cut it short we did try to communicate with the barber and he was apologetic in the end but it doesn't help that he left with a completely different cut than he asked for. I cut it at home to make it look tolerable. I wish we were just told they weren't able to do it honestly.

10-15 mins turned into over an hour wait and still didn't get a haircut for my son. Watched 6-7…read morepeople walk in and get served before us. Simple telling people how long the actual wait is better than wasting peoples time.

I'm shooting the kid is new, nice dude and all, but being there is (5) other guys there working, and looking over, someone should have helped him out. Not happy, no refund needed, I can see where this place does good, but for me, NEXT.
