So disappointing. Overpriced, bad service, argumentative. I stopped by Sunset Barbershop in Temecula for a quick walk-in neck cleanup and left feeling completely ripped off. A barbershop that isn't busy on a Saturday morning should've made me suspicious, but I was feeling optimistic. Wrong. The barber seemed inexperienced and the service felt rushed. I specifically asked for a simple neck cleanup, which took only a few minutes, yet they charged $20 for that tiny touch-up while a full haircut is only $35. That pricing makes absolutely no sense and feels like they're taking advantage of walk-ins. Everyone was friendly enough at first to get you in the door, but once the service was done the attitude changed. The manager didn't seem service-oriented at all and showed no interest in making the situation right. For a place that should value repeat customers, this experience made it clear they don't. Avoid this barbershop -- you probably won't want to come back a second time. The barber even missed hairs on my neck that were covered by the itchy paper around my neck. Careless. I've been coming here for the past two years and consistently get a great cut. I've had 3 different barbers and each time left feeling satisfied. I'm normally the type to go to whatever barber is in the area but ever since coming here - I don't feel the need to look elsewhere. This shop gives me that "small town shop" type of feel. There's always great conversation, the owner Rey spruces it up with pastries on the weekends, and some cold beer/water in the fridge. On top of this - they have it all-in-one staff-wise. Need a custom razor design? Courtney's your guy (and is fantastic with kids). After my first time having Rey cut my hair, he somehow remembers exactly what I want each time. Appointments are nice to have so they can plan their days, but not required. They've made some personnel changes that's reduced a lot of the drama/cattiness in the shop which is a big improvement. Haircuts are still good quality and the wait isn't long which is nice too. They also still offer beverages while you wait. All that is just as good as it ever has been. The change I see that is a big negative and the reason for a 2 star deduction is the credit card payment system. Did I miss a huge change in tipping? Here when you go to pay the automatic tip screen *starts* at 25% for the lowest followed by 35%, then 45%!?!?!? Seems a little presumptuous to me. This is a blatant attempt to get an inflated tip assuming people will not want to look cheap by selecting the lowest option or even going with the custom option and giving what this place considers too low to even display....20%. It's a lame way to coerce a high tip out of its customers. I've never been a fan of the auto-tip payment methods but SBS takes it to a whole new level. Main point from my review: if you're active duty, I'd recommend Kristy. I moved to Temecula a little over a year ago. I'm active duty and work on Pendleton and used to get my haircuts at Stud Cuts in Oceanside. Over the past year, I've been trying out the different barbers here since its close by my house. However, I never really liked the haircuts from any of the barbers. Their was also a weird "vibe". This was my opinion until today, where I met Kristy. Fantastic barber who's actually familiar with the military regulations are (low, med low). I'm definitely going to be sticking with her and glad she's now in Temecula. read more

My husband went in to get a a simple trim. The lady that cut his hair obviously doesn't know how to cut hair! Her work was so sloppy! There was still hair that was unevenly cut. After he showered you could see all the hair she missed. Mind you my husband is pretty much bald ( 2 on the top & medium skin on the side) she managed to FXXK it up. She did a horrible job at not smoothing it out. If you're going to work at a barber shop, please learn how to cut men's hair no matter what style it is. Definitely don't recommend this place. I was pleasantly surprised to see the barbershop open on Monday May 11th.; That is where the pleasantness ended however. There were two barbers working and both are really slow at cutting hair. I finally got in a seat and asked for a high and tight haircut, which is about is simple and straightforward. The older Asian barber on the back left side of the shop took forever tweaking my hair and then charged be $25 for the haircut. That is way too high considering their price list says $20 and up for a "fresh haircut". Once I got home and took a close look it was really uneven all the way around and my daughter had a good laugh at my expense This isn't my first trip to this barber and they usually do a great job, but not today. read more

Bobby hooked my son up with a great haircut and design. The fade is on point and he even tamed a tricky curl that has plagued other barbers cutting his unruly hair. We were once loyal to Stews, but after a few "meh" haircuts, and one 'military fade' that ended up resembling the hairstyle a certain North Korean dictator sports when my kid got his hair wet, we decided to look elsewhere. Basically got there at noon (typical lunch time) however, with everyone getting ready for this weekend and kids starting school Monday you would think these people would be smart enough to manage their lunch time instead of practically almost everyone ghosting the place knowing theirs still customers waiting. A nice acknowledgment of hey guys we're going on a break or lunch would have been cool.
