I contacted Rudy after finding him on Craigslist and Facebook. His picture showed amazing photos. I'm due with my third child and I needed more storage. I contemplated on doing it myself (having my husband do it) but knowing us it would come crashing down on us in a month. Or buying a few dressers for my closet. I have two walk in closets that I current have in my master bedroom. My friend got hers by a closet company and she paid almost double the amount I paid for TWO closets! He came out and quoted me for one closet and I was floored on how inexpensive it was that I had him estimate my husbands closet too! It came out to be less than 1 west elm dresser! I quickly put down a deposit and he penciled me in for an appointment a week or so later. He showed up on time, did an amazing job and I am left with so much more space! I was helping a friend with their home improvement. The Master bedroom custom closet portion was given to Rudy- primarily because he was recommended by the custom cabinet maker. The closet system were installed mid-April, first minor but tell tale sign was: Pile of baseboard, debris left on site. Someone else cleaned up. Rudy , specifically said "If you have any issues, call me" he got paid in full. Fast forward couple of weeks later , 4/30 - homeowners requested to remove drawers. After 2 weeks , he finally responded and agreed to 5/26 appointment. Well, 5/26 .. Rudy did not show up , no calls, did not respond to text message. Closet bar fell on owners head.. someone else fixed . 6/16.. safe delivery and install technician came, low and behold - they cannot install it, space was built out of specs (too small) the specs of the safe , was given to him. I placed numerous calls, plenty of text messages, from 5/26 to 7/13... still waiting to hear back. The person who gave me his contact became the "middleman" Allegedly , he called me back .. Nope ! I have a call history. At this point, I only asked for the materials , ready to have someone else fix his mistake. No response, still. Absolutely nothing. In a not so perfect world of home improvement, issues happen. Some are not preventable, others , like this spec issue, clearly could have been avoided . Reputable trades , takes pride in their work, strict attention to details, quality control, communication, service. Please feel free to form and pass your own judgement based on this scenario. 3 star review At first he responded to us promptly and was very nice ( if very late on punctuality) and gave us a quick quote. We negotiated with him in good faith as we were days from moving in and needed closets built out. He agreed to a price and date for build and we agreed to provide snacks. Overall he did a good job on the reach in closets except for some small details being sub par ( damaged shelf that we had to point out, shelf that looks like it should have been a bottom piece with an unfinished side that he never fixed even tho we asked, loose toe boards etc) For the walk in closet we were very disappointed as the design of the closet seems clunky. We could not see it on the designs but there was a odd 3 inch gap between on both corners of the closet.  he recommended that the closet be designed such that the shelves were in the center and the hanging sections were on the corners. This caused a 3 inch gap in the corners that makes it look like the closets were not professionally done.  He said he built it this way so that we could have hanging shelves and he had thought it through, but if he had shared this thought process with us we would have opted to have shelves in the corners rather than an odd gap. Would not recommend his work for more complicated or customized designs. When he came to do the job he was patient with our questions and requests ( ie selecting the color of drawer handles and choosing between hanging sections or shelves) except for a couple outbursts where he took a tone. He offered to throw a door into the job for some built in shelves in one of the bathrooms using some leftover material he had. He committed to coming in a weeks time to finish that. He then chose to ignore all texts and calls ( read receipts were on so we could see he was reading messages) for said door. We messaged him saying he his not a man of his word and to that he finally responded saying he was busy on other jobs. He gas lit us saying because of that comment he wasn't going to build the door. He could have saved us 2+ weeks of time and just told us he didn't want to fulfill his commitment instead of leaving us on read and being mean. Because of the poor communication, lack of punctuality I can't say that I will be recommending him to anyone else. read more

Not only did he haul away all the old crap from my closet but also painted walls so that it all look proper! He was very helpful from the first moment i contacted him and until the job was complete! So I found this company's name from Craigslist after having issues with Closet World not getting back with me. Honestly feeling blessed many times over. I made an appointment with this man on Monday, the 15th of February 2016, and found out that someone wrote a review on him on Tuesday. Like Closet World, Custom Closets 4U did not show up to the appointment, he made with me. His name is Rudy, and Rudy is just rude by not showing up, nor calling to reschedule. I'm not chasing after these crazy people to pay them money to fix my closet!!! In his advertisement, Custom Closets 4U, Rudy states that the company is the Craigslist's Original Closet Organizers. Showing very nice work, I thought I'd give him a try... see what the company has to offer. He even has a Facebook page for Custom Closets 4U and although the work seems like it's been years ago. I pretty much assumed Rudy is doing this to make extra money and it's not his everyday job! He claims to double your space for less than overpriced companies and says to not do it yourself (huummmm), and not to be fooled by other companies and that his company takes pride in their work and craftsmanship. He also claims that he's a former employee of a well known custom closet company (let me guess.... Closet World?!!!) and has over 10 years of experience. So you'd think this guy knows his stuff right??? But I wouldn't be able to tell you that because this man didn't even show up to his appointment! (Blessing in disguise... somethings work out just the way it's suppose to) Don't bother working with this company! And I'm glad to see that someone wrote a review just yesterday. With all of that said.... I just may end up doing my own closet.... I might shop around a couple more times... but I'll update to let you know what happens. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would! Do NOT hire this man to do your closets. He is unreliable and dishonest! After installing the cabinets we noticed 2 of the drawer's banding was starting to peel. He took the drawers and promised to repair them and bring them back the next day. OVER A MONTH and after MANY texts with NO reply we got our drawers back-NOT repaired and 1 drawer has water damage on the bottom!! When we questioned him, he has the nerve to say we are "looking" for imperfections! REALLY!? Water damage and edges peeling on drawers never used is us "looking" for an imperfection! read more

Just had my master walk-in closet and my daughter's closet done by Rudy! LOVE LOVE the closets! My walk-in closet is exactly how I imagined it. I told Rudy what I needed and he designed it within minutes. I told him I need lots of drawers space so he designed very deep drawers. Highly recommend backings for a more uniform look. Costs more but well worth it. Rudy charges such a reasonable price that I can afford to splurge on backings. For children's room, white is sufficient (least expensive). For my room, I chose teak laminate. Came out absolutely beautiful!! I was not deterred by some of the bad reviews bc his work looked good. He is busy so don't panic if he doesn't call/text back immediately. Be patient. He's worth it! Best part is he rips the closet apart for u and trash everything for u. He will paint only the exposed wall to give it a finished look. I highly recommend Rudy! I find him honest and hardworking. He takes pride in his work. I will post photos as soon as I figure out how. I would like to start by saying I'm not one to write reviews, but frustration has led me to do so. We first contacted Rudy to give us an estimate on three closets for our home. He came in measured and gave us the estimate and we granted him the job. Rudy came in to perform the installation and we were so happy with the work and decided to give him another little job for four linen closet doors worth $150.00, which we paid when the three initial closets were finished. He said he would come back in a couple of weeks because he was going out of town. This was on September 1, 2018. We have only heard from him once on September 12, 2018 and asked to give him a couple of days. That was the last communication we've had, and have called numerous times, but he does not answer nor does he return calls or text messages. You may think $150.00 is not much money, but any honorable person would do the right thing and finish the job they were paid to do. A word of caution, do not pay for services not rendered in advance! So, five stars for initial work performed and one star for not fulfilling his commitment to finish the job and poor communication. read more
