A few days ago, July 1st, we had extremely hot weather. 97 degrees outside. We set our thermostat to 75 deg, but the house would not get any cooler than 88 degrees. Very, very warm inside our house, very difficult trying to sleep. Since our Lennox Air Conditioner is 45 years old, I thought, "Oh my God! My AC was not blowing cold air at home.. I called other company's and they did not answer or would come out till Friday or next week ... All this happened on Monday and in it was 100 degrees out and 80 in my house... Thank goodness Dennis was able to out the same day and took the time to look at our unit. When our A/C broke during the middle of a heat wave, and we realized the unit was 11 years old and no longer under warranty (we moved into the house 3 years ago), I figured we were in for an expensive replacement. Thankfully we called Custom Climate Control and talked to Lori who was super friendly and very flexible with our schedule. My son made a service call to this company, the unit began working again before he arrived. He was polite, checked everything, charged me 120.00 for the call, during which nothing was found or changed. A small device on his phone for payment did not seem to work. I found, the next day, before I had to leave for a work appointment that he had deducted 1200.01 from my checking account. I called. I was incredulous. The potential harm in overdraft and credit score ramifications is potentially crippling. I lost time on this--the receptionist I can only describe as "snotty." Condescending. She said the repairman saw it and reversed it. I said she needed to comp my service call for this. That was yesterday, the call was two days ago, my bank account is not repaired. The receptionist said, in a snotty tone, "I'm not comping your service charge because of his mistake." I was agitated, she talked over me, accusing me of being angry, of not listening, of interrupting her, retelling me about how her voice was calm, how she didn't have to take this from me. I had to go to a meeting--time is money. I hung up. And now today I'm wasting more on this incompetence and arrogance. She told me to "call your institution." I just did. They told me to call this company. She continued on with endless rambling about how this is not their fault, my son didn't give them my phone number, they called my son. I kept saying "Tell me how you're fixing this,: instead she put up an endless wall of sound about how badly I was behaving and how it all started and what she did, and how this is my and my son's fault. I kept saying I did not need to go over this, I just need it reversed now, she kept it up nonstop, told me I don't listen. She said yesterday, I hung up on her, I wouldn't let her tell me how she was working on this, I was rude. These people have no sense of dealing with the public or fair business practices. Had problems with our furnace . It was not working and our house was cold in January. It was a Saturday afternoon and I did not have hopes we would get the furnace fix during the weekend. DO NOT BOTHER WITH THESE PEOPLE! THEY ARE UNRELIABLE! Twice they made me and my wife wait for hours only not to show up. The first time they claimed that a computer breakdown had made it impossible for them to keep to their schedule. When I asked why they hadn't called, they had written down the wrong phone number! (which by the way was not the number I called on, couldn't they look that one up?) Then I had to wait another five days before I could get another appointment and they didn't show up gain. When I called at 3 PM--my appointment was 2-4 PM--they said the service person had called at 11:50 AM and since they hadn't heard back from me they cancelled the appointment. And this in the middle of a heatwave in LA with temps above 90 everyday! I mean, I was doing yard work all day, dealing with a broken sprinkler pipe--and I'm supposed to double check when I've already been stood up once? I told them to forget it. I was selling my home last year and needed to repair or replace a ceiling mounted HVAC unit in a hallway. I was having all kinds of trouble getting someone who could work on it. It's not the most common unit and utilizes hot water from the water heater to produce heat. I had five other companies who were recommended to me take a look at it. Four of them said they either didn't know how to replace it or didn't want to deal with it. One company actually quoted a price, but said it would take 2 months to get the replacement. Luckily my real estate agent put me in touch with this company and they were able to get it done in two weeks and for less than the one other quote I got. There were some obstacles that came up, but Dennis was able to think on the spot and find creative solutions to get it done right. He also helped me with an emergency replacement of a bad capacitor. His office got on it immediately and he said he could repair it until cooler weather, and then replace the duct work for a very reasonable price. This was done. Can't say enough good things about Dennis and the job he just did for us on our AC. He came out on a super hot weekend when it decided to die on us (internal thermostat was over 95). Dennis has done several jobs for me in the last year or so. He has repaired my AC twice - once for each unit. Was prompt - they were both in the heat of the summer - and determined the problems quickly (Unlike the other companies I tried to hire before finding Dennis). Then I had him check out my thermostats to see if they could automatically switch between heat and air and they could. He made the adjustment and they work just fine. Other repairmen said it was not possible for them to work that way. Lastly I had him install a whole house exhaust fan. Again prompt, efficient, cleaned up and worked quickly.
