I went to the SPCA's White Marsh location where they have cats and kittens available for adoption. I saw a bonded pair of year old cats as soon as I walked in and I knew I had found our babies. The next day I brought in my husband as well as the necessary paperwork and we were ready to bring our boys home. This puppy had severe separation anxiety. She tore apart the carpet in my roommate room, she chewed half the door frame off, she chewed the trim along the base of the wall, she would bark and yelp, poo and pee on the floor, she broke two crates. Everything that could have been chewed was chewed. She would also be so panicked when we left that she would be completely covered in sweat. My roommate called Anne George from bark busters and by the end of the first training she had her lying in her crate completely silent in a room by herself for a full hour. She was so nice. Anne even gave me pointers for training my own dog even though she wasn't there for me. She really saved us and saved this dog. I would recommend her and her techniques to anyone. LM

Each time, except the first one, the same trainer would stay for maybe 15-20 minutes (def no more) and leave. He had me barking at my dog, throwing water balloons at my dog, and throwing a mini "bean bag" not at, but towards my dog; none of which were useful. My fiance and I told him on 3 separate occasions face-to-face that him coming for 15-20 minutes was not enough and we needed him to spend more time with our dog, and he did not do that so we just stopped communicating with him. He/Bark busters also never reached back out because they got their money. Wouldn't recommend unfortunately.

I…read morewas her third home (which I still can't comprehend why) and she had pretty bad general anxiety and separation anxiety. Given her size and anxiety, I knew I would need some help. I was given a business card for East Coast Academy of Dog Training. The best recommendation ever. Initially, Paige was unmanageable on a leash. Her fear and anxiety caused her to be hyper reactive to wildlife, sounds, sudden movements. She would not respond to commands and she pulled me wherever she wanted to go. The first time Rob walked into my house, the whole energy changed. Rob has the most wonderful voice. He is soft-spoken. He never raises his voice. He has endless patience. Paige loved him from the first moment. For the first several visits, we worked inside on basic behaviors - come, sit, wait, etc. Paige caught on pretty quickly. So did I! It was as much about me learning as it was Paige. Rob always leaves detailed notes covering the lessons of the day. And consistent practice between visits is paramount. Then we began working on leash training for walks. Rob has given me valuable tools to make walks a positive experience for both Paige and I. We are still a work in progress and, weather permitting, I make a point of walking every day. Paige is so much happier and so much calmer. After 5 visits, I kept telling Rob that I needed more training. In his wonderful, calm way, he said that I didn't need more. That I had the tools to be successful and that he was only a phone call away if I needed to talk through anything. Rob never pushes additional visits if he feels you are ready to fly on your own.
