I brought my 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 to Transmissions Unlimited for a shifting issue, and what followed was months of frustration, poor service, and unresolved problems. After dropping it off, scheduler James Quick called a few days later saying the clutches were shot and needed a full rebuild, plus replacing the transmission cooler lines which he claimed were leaking--despite no evidence of a leak before I brought it in. I agreed since the transmission was coming out anyway. Two weeks later, I picked it up after paying a hefty bill (around $7,500 for the work), only to find the shifting problem was exactly the same, and now it was leaking from the new lines they installed. I took it back, and they diagnosed it as bad batteries and alternator, quoting me $1,200 to fix. This didn't add up since the issue was identical to before. I consulted other shops, who suggested a governor solenoid problem. I replaced the batteries and alternator myself--no change, and the leak persisted. Called again, spoke to Gabe, who said bring it in for a quick fix. But dealing with James was a nightmare--he was rude, annoyed, and hostile every time I tried to schedule or get updates. They had my truck for days without touching it, even though racks were empty when I dropped off. One time, they put it on the rack, then immediately parked it outside to work on someone else's vehicle. After weeks of delays and more hostility (no ETAs, excuses about being busy), they finally called saying it was done: blamed my Edge tuner (which they removed without asking) and replaced the governor solenoid. Happy to get it back, but the leak was still there. Called yet again--more rudeness from James. Scheduled with Gabe, dropped off, got warned about a shop dog that "will rip your nuts off." They looked at it for 15 minutes, said they couldn't fix the leak (which they caused), and asked me to return Friday at 8 AM sharp. I showed up early, only to be told they might not get to it, making me feel like a burden. Eventually they did, but the unprofessionalism from the front desk guy was off the charts. This dragged on for over two months with repeated visits, the same issues persisting, and zero accountability. I don't even think they properly diagnosed the original problem. The…read moreday I got it back it had a 1870 code and shifted very hard from 1st to 2nd gear and from 2nd to 3rd gear and the gear shift indicator no longer worked. I returned the truck to his shop 2 days later . During the 2 year warranty period he had my truck for 138 days (over 4 months). He never fixed the gear shift indicator and the 1870 code will not clear for more than about 10 miles. The truck still shifts very hard. I took Transnet transmission ( Tracy Jones ) to small claims court in Mason County and won. It has been 80 days and he has not payed a penny of the judgment.

Called he said must of forgot to hook something up. finally got time to fix it myself 4x4 came on and it popped into neutral. checked it was off the dip stick fluid everywhere again. Called no answer no return call twice. Now it is acting bad from the low fluid and I am paying again to get the work done somewhere else.

Not being familiar with Purdy, I stopped at the first gas station I saw to see if anyone could help me put on my spare. Long story short, I got directed to another gas station, then to an auto parts shop, and then to here. With it pouring down rain and me running very late to my appointment by now, I was discouraged when I arrived, to say the least. I asked (who I later found out was) the owner, Jeremy, if he "knew of anybody that could help me put on my spare." He asked if I had the tire, I replied yes, and he said, with the biggest smile, "Just pull your car up and we'll get it put on there in no time!" I was so relieved that I just immediately started crying and did as he said. He then told me that he didn't see a flat tire, so I told him which one it was and that I had aired it up at the previous gas station. He then told me that they would check to see if it was fixable (without me even asking!) and put the spare on if not. Five minutes later, the mechanic comes in saying that my tire was fixed, no spare needed. Jeremy then told me that it was only going to be $5. When I told him that I want him to charge me more than that (I was verrrry thankful), he and the woman behind the counter both politely laughed and politely ask their head, saying that it was called, "Paying It Forward." I reluctantly handed him my card, but he laughed and said just to bring him $5 the next time I was in the area. He then proceeded to tell me that if this ever happens again, to just come straight to them and they will put air in my tires for free or do anything else needed. I know this is really long, but I can't reiterate enough how much of a savior he was that day. I ended up still making some of our bridal dress appointment in Seattle, and I'm not even driving on a donut. He didn't have to be so kind, but he was, and for that I'm very, very thankful.
