John Cooper and his crew did a fabulous job on my double driveway. He was so careful to keep the edges of the driveway straight and corrected a problem at the end of the driveway. The end of the driveway dipped and created ice all winter. That's not going to happen next winter. He takes pride in his work, arrived on time and left everything clean and neat. I can't comment on their actual work. This is a review of their customer service. I see this companies signs up and down Lake Street in Peabody. Over the past three weeks I have called and left messages on their voicemail to get someone out to give me a quote on a large driveway repair. For what it is worth - each time I called during normal business hours and always got their machine. I've heard nothing back. It could be that this company does such great work that they are very busy and can't take on new jobs. But I think it is very bad customer service to not bother to even call a potential customer back. Especially one that has patiently called you three times over the course of three weeks. read more

Very dissatisfied. They did my driveway in the pouring rain during a thunderstorm. He jumped off the steamroller showed me the Job and wanted to be paid He wasn't even done with the job. I left and he called me twice within an hours time. I answered on the second phone call and voiced my concern about paving the driveway during the thunderstorm He told me it would have zero effect and demanded he be paid tomorrow and said end of story then hung up on me. By the looks of the steam I saw coming from the driveway when the rain hit the new pavement, I knew there was a problem and the oil was flowing down the driveway. After a week we parked the cars on the driveway and my tenants alerted me of tire marks being made from turning the wheels. I have consulted an expert and paving a driveway in the pouring rain is a recipe for disaster. I would stay away from him and definitely would never recommend him. When we were getting quotes to replace our driveway, one paver who did not want to travel so far asked who else we were considering - and without hesitation said "go with Custom!" His advice was spot on. These guys were amazing! They showed up on time, they had all the right equipment, the crew worked and communicated so well together it was hard not to watch the whole day. wasn't too thrilled about spending money for asphalt on an already large new garage project but this went really well. John called back quickly and was available to meet the next day, gave me a quote on the spot that wasn't the lowest but right in the ballpark. He had some great ideas for the drainage and I like a contractor that gives me the solutions and not all the problems he may face with the job. He did the job about 7 days later as promised and showed up a day later to make sure I was happy with the work. Don H. I called custom paving and to my surprise they called me back within a day or so and came to look at the job. I had a problem with the driveway allowing water to run towards the garage doors and into the house. Mark and I came up with a plan to redirect the water . He told me he could come within the next 2 weeks . Three days later I got the call that they would be there in the morning 4 hours later I had a new great looking driveway custom designed and easily handled the nights rain fall. Would not recommend! They did our driveway and ran out of asphalt in a small area. I have been promised multiple times that it would be completed "next week" now they are not responding to my calls/messages! The price was ok and the work was good. BUT, I have problems with grass growing through the pavement and a drainage issue. This is clearly not covered in the warranty, which is fine. I just wanted them to come back and re-pitch for drainage and repair the plant damage which I would have happily paid for. They will not answer their phone nor call me back. So in reality, your work will have no warranty because they won't have the courtesy to return a call (dozens of calls over 3 seasons). read more
