2 Item Combo ($15.99) - Butter Chicken Curry & Goat Curry (extra $1.50 charge) - Above View
Ian A.

I had a good experience at Curry Time (Pomona). I ordered the "2 Item Combo" ($15.99) and "Garlic Naan upgrade" (additional $1). The portion sizes are HUGE! The curry is also well-spiced and flavorful. (IMPORTANT INFO: Bring cash. There's an additional 4% fee for card payments. Also, this location accepts EBT.) I arrived at Curry Time (Pomona) on Monday (around 4:25PM). Parking is easy. The lot is fairly empty. Staff is very friendly, curious, and welcoming. Staff repeatedly attempted conversation. Staff even appeared surprised that I'd chosen to dine-in. The food arrived very quickly since the curry sat on hot trays. As mentioned, I ordered the "2 Item Combo" ($15.99) and "Garlic Naan upgrade" (additional $1). The naan tasted buttery and hot; the garlic flavor was fairly muted, so I don't think the upgrade was worth it. Thankfully, the rice tasted very fresh and clean. For the "2 Item Combo," I chose Butter Chicken Curry and Goat Curry (additional $1.50 charge). The Butter Chicken is DELICIOUS!! Its chicken is tender & juicy, and its curry is thick, creamy, and well-seasoned. I happily embraced its light spicy kick. Concerning the Goat Curry, the sauce is heavier and savory. Unfortunately, the Goat Curry's protein tasted bitter, chewy, and almost rubbery; there's also many bones. Still, both curries felt well-intentioned and thoughtful. I left full and happy, Regarding ambiance, Curry Time (Pomona) felt a little run down and dingy. The corners didn't look well swept. Thankfully, the tables are smooth and clean. This location does not have a restroom, but there's a small hand sanitizer bottle for customers. Also, the location plays no music, but the flat screen TV plays youtube videos. Unfortunately, the main sound is an intrusive humming coming from the machine sitting by the entrance. The location is fairly cramped with its five tables. However, this place feels more like an order-and-leave spot. Overall, I created good memories at Curry Time (Pomona). The food is tasty and affordable! I also genuinely enjoyed the Butter Chicken. If searching for delicious Indian food, this is an easy recommendation. 4.7 out of 5

2 item combo (coconuts curry + butter chicken) & 1 item bowl (goat curry).

Curry Time has loads of curry options to satisfy your cravings. They are next to a laundry mat. The parking is easy since there's minimal businesses in this plaza. The business has few tables for seating. They operate as quick/express service Indian food. Curry Time offer entrees of 1, 2, or 3 item combo plates. They promote options for specialty pizzas too. Staff made us feel very welcomed and right at home. The curry selection is numerous! Meat and veggie options are offered. They have 12 different ones to choose from. This recent visit my wife got the 1 entree with the goat curry. I choose the 2 entree coconut chicken and coconut curry + a garlic naan. Curry time packs these containers full. The portion sizes are solid. The aromatics radiate in the air and every bite was enjoyable. So much curry, so much delicious flavors! (Please see the photos attached) Nothing beats a fresh batch of garlic naan to pair with your curry. My wife and I enjoy coming to Curry Time because it's fast and reliable. We always leave happy and leave home with leftovers. Come by to Curry Time and enjoy what they offer! ( ^_^)b

I ordered the 3 items combo including Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Eggplant with Rice and the Fried Veggy Pakora as an Appetizer! All the food tasted Wonderful!!! Amita the manager and the guy behind the counter were very nice people! Clean place to eat and some seats to dine in. I chose to go, but sat in for few minutes to rest while waiting for my order to finish. Bought a 20 oz Dr Pepper to wash it all down. I will be back soon!

First impressions are not the best, they did not have the full menu available and cashier was a bit rude and the restaurant itself was hotter than outside. But the food that was available was terrific, the flavor was balanced and spices delivered.

The buttered chicken here is amazing... the gentlemen that runs the counter is super nice and amazing at his customer service. This place is my goto for curry, it hits the spot nicely every time and never disappoints!!! if your looking for a great bite to eat stop in and order anything I can promise you won't be disappointed.

I came here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was kind of dead. I guess they cater more to students during the regular week days maybe? Food: 5/5 I got their chicken tikka masala, one item combo. It was delicious and the staff gave me such a big plate. It was $14 after tip and tax. The curry was very flavorful and had big chunks of chicken. It was very filling. Service: 5/5 The staff was quick, but probably because I was the only person there. I think I got in and out in less than 5 minutes. Ambiance: 4/5 This place is located in a little dingy plaza next to a coin laundry machine. I would definitely get the food to go, the area seems a little run down.

Jealousy is more than a word, now I understand Goat Curry & Kadai Chicken from #CurryTime

If there's one Indian dish I love it would be the humble goat curry. I have loved that dish from first bite and I'm forever attempting to find a near inexpensive source for my goat curry affliction. I was hoping Currytime would be a good option. Ten minutes away, inexpensive, and seeming to be of good substance and quality. Indeed, the goat was pretty good. Supple, flavorful, and shredding in your mouth like good, tender goat should. Even the kadai chicken, with its distressing portion of veggies, managed to impress with its subtleties. The problem was the rice. It was neither loose like a good basmati nor was it truly sticky like a good jasmine or close. Instead, it was mushy in consistency. Also, it had carrot and pea chunks strewn about it. It may be a personal preference, but rice should stand on its own--no added seasoning or flavorings--just the rice. I don't even like my rice to have sauce be mixed with it, however I know that can't be helped with this kind of to go container. All in all, I may just go a la carte next time. There's a lot i can do with meat this decent with the rice I make at home. Because, as it stands, that rice turned a pretty tasty and hearty meal into a bit of a chore. And that's one thing eating should never be.

Great food, great service. What more can you ask for. The place is semi new and they also recently opened a place in Pasadena. Their original flagship is in El Monte. Some of the best Indian food in the area by far. Think of this place as the Panda Express for Indian food. They offer one item bowls, along with two or three items plates which all include rice and naan. Very well priced and the food is great quality. I ordered a meal and ended up with enough food for another meal later as well. It is set up to be a quick grab and go if you are in a rush or you can sit down and enjoy a Mango Lassi (Indian Mango Yogurt Drink) with you meal and relax. I ordered a three item plate with Chicken Tikka Masala along with the Black Pepper Chicken. The gentleman behind the counter then suggested Kandai Chicken if I like spicy saying that it is similar to the Chicken Curry just with an elevated spice level. I upgraded my Naan to Garlic Naan for $0.75. The employees were very friendly and informative and they have only been open for about 6 months in this location so give them a shot, you will not be disappointed!

Look how amazing and tasty this pizza looks! Butter Chicken Pizza!! Yummy!

My friend and I were in the area and was feeling hungry, so I googled placed to eat since we aren't familiar with the area. We decided to try Curry Time and we are so glad we did! However, my first judgement of the place was, "Oh no... I'm not sure about this place." As I pulled up, I was surprised because I thought it was an actual sit down restaurant. We decided to give it a try anyway and let me tell you.... the food was delicious! The portions were big as well. The chicken tikka masala and blackened chicken was so tasty. I ordered the curry chicken and it was good but not as good as the other two. We also wanted to try the pizza so we got the butter chicken pizza. Omg!! That was amazing!! So so good!! The guy at the front helping us was very friendly, informative and just a nice guy. The only thing I would say they can work on is the decor of the place but that's it. So, definitely come for the food. It's really good!

4.5 stars Always love finding other Indian Food locations near by. I can always count on Curry Time if I want a flavor filled quick meal! + located in a little shopping center, parking is plentiful + plenty of entree options at the ready if you are looking to get something quick. + definitely flavorful items, some are spicy though! Delicious but spicy! + price is reasonable, they have combos and you can also order items a la cart as well + owners are friendly and make suggestions on what to order as well

It's been a minute since I had Indian food so I tried this spot to satisfy my cravings. This spot did not miss! Ordered 2 item combo (Chicken Tikka & Vegetable Curry) and a side of garlic naan. The uncles working there were extremely polite and had the patience to explain a little bit about the different curries that they were serving for that day. This was hefty plate and more than enough food for me. I would definitely recommend anyone around the area giving this joint a try! I went during lunch so it was a bit hot inside but the heat didn't bother me none. Will definitely come back to try more of their items on the menu like samosas, wraps and even pizza!

Ordered the spinach cheese and chicken tikka masala combo for lunch. Spinach cheese was spicy. I loved it. Rice was fluffy and freshly cooked. Tikka masala was very good as well! This place is newer, clean and friendly. Only downfall for me was that they didn't have cups of water. Had to purchase one. Owner said something about kids and a mess? I don't know, just a way to make more money to force people to buy a drink.

Our favorites were the Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji (we ordered the Classic), Chole Bhatura, and the Jaamun Shot. The Papdi Chaat was exactly what we expected and was decent. The Bhel Puri and Pani Puri were probably our least favorite dishes. For the pani puri, the pani was bland and lacking flavor and the puri barely had any filling. The Bhel Puri was more tart than I expected and could have used a bit more green chutney and sweet chutney. I didn't try it myself, but my father-in-law ordered the Masala Jaljeera and he didn't seem to be a big fan. He mentioned that maybe he should have ordered the Kokum Jeera Soda instead. The restaurant is clean and the ambiance casual. Service was a little slow at the beginning, but once we placed our order, the food came out very quickly. I do wish they had given us a little more time to enjoy a few dishes before bringing out the rest. Our table felt pretty crowded when everything came out at the same time and we were shuffling dishes to make space while we ate. To be fair, we ordered a lot of food, and we probably could have asked for the dishes to be brought out in stages. Overall, I'm giving it 4 stars, though I'd probably place it somewhere between 3.5 and 4. I'd definitely come back to try other menu items if I was in the area.

Agnii -- A Fiery Experience | Old Town Covina…read more Old Town Covina seems to be coming alive, and I'm glad to see restaurants like Agnii becoming part of the neighborhood. The food here is simply amazing. We tried a variety of dishes, from the vegan selections to the shrimp curry and butter chicken. Each brought something different to the table. Different spices, different textures, different layers of flavor. Every dish gave us something new to enjoy. And the garlic naan. We ordered three. That should tell you something. One small recommendation: get a side of yogurt. A little between dishes refreshes the palate and lets you appreciate the next round of spices all over again. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Clean, modern, and surprisingly luxurious without feeling uncomfortable. There's also a large outdoor dining area that looks perfect for gatherings and parties. Service was excellent. Attentive, welcoming, and a pleasure throughout the meal. What I appreciate most is that the food has character. Indian cuisine has so much to offer beyond heat and heavy spices. When done well, every dish tells a different story. We came hungry. We tried a little of everything. We ordered more naan. And we left happy. Old Town Covina needs more places like this.

I think it's awesome that they kept the name original to its actual name. But reading a menu alone, it was kind of like the blind leading the blind. The deluxe platter is an awesome way to kind of sample a little bit of everything. If you go in a group, everyone can get a different thing and you get even more choices. My boyfriend and I shared one platter and I honestly already forgot which items we got. But everything I tasted was amazing. The only thing is please be very mindful that it is quite spicy. Even the ones that are mild are a little more spicy. Please also note that I have the spice tolerance of a child so maybe my idea of spicy is someone's mild... We got the mango and masala lassie. I really like the mango one, but the masala was more savory than it is sweet so it threw me off. My boyfriend liked it, though it was different than usual. But definitely worth going because you can't even tell it's vegetarian. Amazing food great service.
