I had a good experience at Curry Time (Pomona). I ordered the "2 Item Combo" ($15.99) and "Garlic Naan upgrade" (additional $1). The portion sizes are HUGE! The curry is also well-spiced and flavorful. (IMPORTANT INFO: Bring cash. There's an additional 4% fee for card payments. Also, this location accepts EBT.) I arrived at Curry Time (Pomona) on Monday (around 4:25PM). Parking is easy. The lot is fairly empty. Staff is very friendly, curious, and welcoming. Staff repeatedly attempted conversation. Staff even appeared surprised that I'd chosen to dine-in. The food arrived very quickly since the curry sat on hot trays. As mentioned, I ordered the "2 Item Combo" ($15.99) and "Garlic Naan upgrade" (additional $1). The naan tasted buttery and hot; the garlic flavor was fairly muted, so I don't think the upgrade was worth it. Thankfully, the rice tasted very fresh and clean. For the "2 Item Combo," I chose Butter Chicken Curry and Goat Curry (additional $1.50 charge). The Butter Chicken is DELICIOUS!! Its chicken is tender & juicy, and its curry is thick, creamy, and well-seasoned. I happily embraced its light spicy kick. Concerning the Goat Curry, the sauce is heavier and savory. Unfortunately, the Goat Curry's protein tasted bitter, chewy, and almost rubbery; there's also many bones. Still, both curries felt well-intentioned and thoughtful. I left full and happy, Regarding ambiance, Curry Time (Pomona) felt a little run down and dingy. The corners didn't look well swept. Thankfully, the tables are smooth and clean. This location does not have a restroom, but there's a small hand sanitizer bottle for customers. Also, the location plays no music, but the flat screen TV plays youtube videos. Unfortunately, the main sound is an intrusive humming coming from the machine sitting by the entrance. The location is fairly cramped with its five tables. However, this place feels more like an order-and-leave spot. Overall, I created good memories at Curry Time (Pomona). The food is tasty and affordable! I also genuinely enjoyed the Butter Chicken. What i liked is the naan bread is made fresh- as compared to Curry hut in fullerton they charge extra for lamb which was a bit disappointing and it did not even tasted well. The business has few tables for seating. They operate as quick/express service Indian food. Curry Time offer entrees of 1, 2, or 3 item combo plates. They promote options for specialty pizzas too. Staff made us feel very welcomed and right at home. The curry selection is numerous! Meat and veggie options are offered. They have 12 different ones to choose from. This recent visit my wife got the 1 entree with the goat curry. I choose the 2 entree coconut chicken and coconut curry + a garlic naan. Curry time packs these containers full. The portion sizes are solid. The aromatics radiate in the air and every bite was enjoyable. So much curry, so much delicious flavors! I came here on a Saturday afternoon. The place was kind of dead. I guess they cater more to students during the regular week days maybe? Food: 5/5 I got their chicken tikka masala, one item combo. It was delicious and the staff gave me such a big plate. It was $14 after tip and tax. The curry was very flavorful and had big chunks of chicken. It was very filling. Service: 5/5 The staff was quick, but probably because I was the only person there. I think I got in and out in less than 5 minutes. If there's one Indian dish I love it would be the humble goat curry. I have loved that dish from first bite and I'm forever attempting to find a near inexpensive source for my goat curry affliction. I was hoping Currytime would be a good option. Ten minutes away, inexpensive, and seeming to be of good substance and quality. Indeed, the goat was pretty good. Supple, flavorful, and shredding in your mouth like good, tender goat should. Even the kadai chicken, with its distressing portion of veggies, managed to impress with its subtleties. The problem was the rice. It was neither loose like a good basmati nor was it truly sticky like a good jasmine or close. Instead, it was mushy in consistency. Also, it had carrot and pea chunks strewn about it. It may be a personal preference, but rice should stand on its own--no added seasoning or flavorings--just the rice. I don't even like my rice to have sauce be mixed with it, however I know that can't be helped with this kind of to go container. All in all, I may just go a la carte next time. There's a lot i can do with meat this decent with the rice I make at home. Because, as it stands, that rice turned a pretty tasty and hearty meal into a bit of a chore. However, my first judgement of the place was, "Oh no... I'm not sure about this place." As I pulled up, I was surprised because I thought it was an actual sit down restaurant. We decided to give it a try anyway and let me tell you.... the food was delicious! The portions were big as well. The chicken tikka masala and blackened chicken was so tasty. I ordered the curry chicken and it was good but not as good as the other two. We also wanted to try the pizza so we got the butter chicken pizza. Omg!! That was amazing!! So so good!! The guy at the front helping us was very friendly, informative and just a nice guy. The only thing I would say they can work on is the decor of the place but that's it. Some of the best Indian food in the area by far. Think of this place as the Panda Express for Indian food. They offer one item bowls, along with two or three items plates which all include rice and naan. Very well priced and the food is great quality. I ordered a meal and ended up with enough food for another meal later as well. It is set up to be a quick grab and go if you are in a rush or you can sit down and enjoy a Mango Lassi (Indian Mango Yogurt Drink) with you meal and relax. I ordered a three item plate with Chicken Tikka Masala along with the Black Pepper Chicken. The gentleman behind the counter then suggested Kandai Chicken if I like spicy saying that it is similar to the Chicken Curry just with an elevated spice level. In this small and humble establishment, there resides a couple of tables and no restrooms. The food primarily caters to the general populace so the spices don't hit as hard. I'm sure the chef can make make it more spicy if you tell him to do so though. I ordered the 32 oz a la carte option which supposedly feeds 3-4 people but in all honesty, 3 people is stretching it, probably only 2 people. The chicken was tender and moist and had a good spiciness to it. It came with some naan bread to dip into the sauce. The owners are nice. The owners plan on making some Indian pizza in the future.
