I wouldn't call this a sports bar either. There were some TVs but nothing big or to write home about. Come here for a chill time with adults to enjoy conversation and great beer. I stood in line 3 separate times (once to initially order two pints, a second time to order a flight of other beers we wanted to taste, and a final time to purchase two cans to-go and close out my tab); each time in line took between 15-25 minutes. The girl behind the bar was very friendly and she was working as quickly as possible while maintaining a relatively happy attitude, but boy did I feel bad for her. Management really messed this up; someone needed to step in and help. With such a big celebration in town that day, there needed to be a minimum of 3 employees manning the bar to take orders and get drinks. As for the beer itself, as usual it's just average. Great if you're looking for something cold to enjoy, but not memorable if you're a craft beer nerd. We went in knowing what the quality would be, but still wanted to try all the new beers since we hadn't been in a couple of years. We didn't eat while there, but in the past when we have, the food is good. The knock of two stars was simply for the horrible management of orders. I don't know when they decided to get rid of waiters and put all the pressure onto the bartender, but geez what an awful decision that was.

Before my first visit, it had probably been ten years since I'd had meatloaf. Now this sandwich has changed the rules. It will knock your socks off. The bread is excellent, the flavors are rich and satisfying, and the whole thing tastes like comfort food done right. Great food, great beer, and my only complaint is that I wish they had a growler refill service. Good eating, nice friendly place.

Right after my initial review the restaurant went through a management and ownership change and a LOT changed. I came back once or twice after the new ownership and the food was in transition. I waited really, another several months for things to settle down, and started coming more regularly. The food is substantial, first of all. Mark, (owner), takes immense pride in serving quality food. Pricing sadly, in commensurate with Sedona, but that is life here in the VV. There is smoked prime rib dinners on Saturday, Taco Tuesday and relevant holiday specials. But again, portions can be shared or you've got two meals. Win-win Management and staff has changed, for the better from previous. Staff is friendly, efficient and professional. I live in town and we have few choices, but our choices are consistent and down to earth. The Roost is great for travelers and residents alike, who are seeking good food and atmosphere! I've been impressed with the sense of community the restaurant provides to all.
